  1. As I guessed there would be a financial incentive attached to it otherwise Southwark wouldn't be bending backwards to accommodate. We have one of the sheds on an estate and they've asked told us to clear it out saying that there is wiring in there and they may need to take over it permanently. Never mind my belongings. They've also been leafleting around selling the benefits of going to their company and not needing to pay for anything else not even BT line. Interesting BT seem to be upgrading everyone to higher speeds in the area.
  2. I heard there was a consultation meeting about this fibre optic company. Apparently Southwark are working with them and or BT to provide high speed broadband. Just wondering if anyone went to the meeting or knows any more?
  3. Agree totally. At first I was a bit hesitant but as you say acting in such an odd or suspicious manner is enough to notify the Police. I would guess that they may have more information on these incidences to build a picture of what?s happening in the area. I would discuss with school and the police to see if they can talk about safety with the children. Also to mention that there is Dulwich Wingtsun self defence training classes and Della who runs this does kids and adults classes. She also specialises in girls/women?s only groups which not only teaches self defence but raises awareness on keeping yourself safe this is the link if anyone?s interested https://www.phoenixeyewingtsunlondon.co.uk/wing-tsun-in-dulwich.
  4. Hi this definitely should be reported to the police. My 11 yr old son was followed by a man on Saturday afternoon near junction of Goodrich and Friern Road, this is second time it's happened. Last time was around Xmas time again on Saturday afternoon. He couldn't say it was the same man as it was dark and he was cycling ahead. Luckily he managed to get away. But obviously quite shaken by the whole incident. The schools police team are aware. Sometimes I know they send emails via the schools to warn parents and carers to be vigilant when an incident occurs but not sure how they decide what and when to publicize.
  5. Hi saw white cat in outside one of the houses opposite the back of St Anthony's school on Friern Road yesterday could it be yours I wonder?
  6. Despite promises of air con and refurbishments taking place with various dates of closures and classes being cancelled or changed the situation seems to have gotten worse. It's taken months or years to get things moving and it's dreadful today studio 2 upstairs was like a sauna, with all fans going it was at the brink of cancelling classes altogether. Staff can't really do much but apologise but it is utterly ridiculous.
  7. Yes Sun taekwondo has classes at Jags on Mon and Thurs and kids on Saturday. Great but not really self defence, TKD tends to be more concentrated on learning patterns and at higher level sparring at competitions. Whereas Wingtsun they teach kids how to keep safe and only use force when it's last option so more in lines of self defence and getting out of holds.
  8. There are obvious consequences of the reduction of cleaning for one the increase of vermin and foxes in the area. On another thread there have been reported links to cat killings in the area. One poor young cat died of his injuries recently I was told which was really sad to hear. Foxes are becoming more brave and fearless of humans, especially with their growing numbers and young to feed.
  9. All clear tonight maybe it?s finished fingers x. Someone told me rye lane is due to be closed off January!
  10. Yes agree better to walk, this evening traffic was building up from Goose green down to E Dulwich road and Peckham rye,if I?d known how bad I would have just walked from goose green via Crystal Palace road to get to plough. In the morning getting to Peckham rye st is quicker maybe than East Dulwich or Denmark hill
  11. How about rather than litter picking every 2 days and 4 weekly sweeping to just sweep and clean all streets once a week. I?m just wondering how much litter builds up on a daily basis on the street? Would an extra 50p per household be able to fund twice weekly cleaning and other community things. I for one wouldn?t mind paying that.
  12. What's the remit for street sweeping as Friern road is complete slosh with leaves and rubbish uncleared for weeks let alone days.
  13. Well this morning around 8am I saw 176 stopping at the plough going towards goose green so I and others thought the diversion was off. The 185 stopped for a while at upland road stopand then decided to turn down Barry road. No signs at the bustops. I think TFL could be clearer and consistent. It is really annoying.
  14. My children 8 and 11 attend Wing Tsun east dulwich. They are experts in self defence having trained with kids and adults particular with girls groups. Try httpwww.dulwichwingtsun.com
  15. Fantastic news. My little girl will be so pleased as well. Everytime when we saw the posters she was hoping Cheetah would be gound. Sounds like he is healthy and well.
  16. Well it's started again today..major blockage at the plough junction no buses coming either way, bus stops are full, great start to the week ..
  17. Got automatically reimbursement on last occasion but worth checking definitely
  18. When I called yesterday Thames water reported it as fixed and said that they would send engineer over, but it came back in the night and now gone again this morning. Schools also closed...
  19. I agree with you guys since the recent elections or even before there seems to be a lacklustre response to responding. James Barber and Renata imo have always dealt with things in some way or form. I get the impression though it may be down to experience which the new guys may lack. However no excuse to not to respond at all surely it's just courtesy. Why take on the role if you can't manage the work??
  20. We've also noticed rubbish being dumped on Friern Rd, opposite Etherow St. Also the road on that stretch is fifthy, never seen a cleaner at all, loads of dog poo and other stuff stuck dried onto the pavements for weeks. Absolutely awful. I also agree there should be extra bin collections in this hot weather the smells from some houses are dreadful.
  21. Do you mean Harris Boys or Harris Peckham. Both have police liaison officers the websites have details under staff list. My guess is they would have a pretty good idea who the pupils are as word spreads easily.
