  1. Yes I was there yesterday for a class, the air con in studio 2 barely worked, two of us had to sit out for a while and the attendant only came up towards the end of the class to check saying that there was little they could do about it. Even the instructor struggled. Had the door open for a bit but the music obviously disturbed next doors yoga group so we had to shut the door after they complained. The room was so hot, was not pleasant at all. They should bring in some portable chillers at least.
  2. Rush hour today was also affected by an incident at elephant castle to top things off. By the time it got to kings I could see a workman collecting cones and opening up the road. However the Loughborough junction seemed to still have temporary traffic lights.
  3. Traffic seemed much better this morning, maybe someones been listening, or maybe people using different routes so less traffic in area...
  4. Mad out here bus let us off by Edwards Cycle shop, me and loads of others walked to Kings to catch next bus. Stop is packed. Roads both sides are totally blocked. Ambulances having trouble fighting through buses and vehicles to get to the hospital. Is there not a better way of managing traffic perhaps getting diversions in place or getting whatever needs to be done fixed. I can't see any workmen out there at the moment. This is ridiculous...
  5. There's Thames water vans near Butterfly walk denmark hill down to single lanes. There were delays this morning but nothing like this afternoon. Took around 40mins to get from Burgess Park to King's. Thames water website indicates it would be all week.
  6. Warning terrible delays possibly due to roadworks. Stuck in traffic best to avoid this area if possible
  7. Just thinking about another incident recounted to me in relation what Sue has said about this kind of thing happening in broad daylight. Two teenage boys were in McDonalds in a very busy area in Victoria afternoon lots of people, two blokes apparently tried to mug them, threatening and one of the boys refused, the other was dragged into the toilets severely beaten robbed of phone and money. Again no one reported this and the men got away. Often people are too afraid of interfering in case they get hurt themselves.
  8. In apprehending someone (we don't know) they may find that there is a history of offences which would give them grounds to take further. It may not and this incident may pan out to be something very different than what is initially described. Does anyone know if we can find out what happens with these incidences? There have been several reported as previously mentioned but we never hear how they have been followed up at all.
  9. Think it may be the blurry characters in buroque dress fighting opposite the EDT pub.
  10. Gosh I've never thought of taking birth certs but makes sense I've always travelled with their dad but recall being questioned a bit by going through Italy.
  11. I agree, have to navigate myself through these situations every morning on the narrow road outside St Anthony's as they filter through from the local church after morning mass. They have right of way of course and I would say only 1 out of 10 parents will actually say thank you or excuse me for giving way, buses and other pedestrians are at a standstill in the mornings. I end up in the middle of the road sometimes but then get trapped by the other parents in cars dropping off their little darlings. I'm a parent of three as well and I can say the other schools are not as bad as this one. They could make it easier by opening the other entrance like the other schools do to lessen congestion.
  12. Going off topic now guys! What's the isolated behaviour of a group of badboys got to do with whether it's an academy or not. Incidentally I hear Heber primary had to send some teachers to patrol the Sainsbury local as some kids were buying drinks bottles to play this flipping bottle trick which had gone viral on YouTube.
  13. Secondary schools have a community police officer allocated theirs is PC Marcus Kudliskis try contacting on email [email protected]. Would have thought he'd know how to deal with this.
  14. Above posts suggest legalities around not notifying public before issuing as well as other reasons in other similar posts as to why someone entered into the bus lanes possibly at the end going to Sainsbury's for example. Yes you are correct by saying that if you go into a bus lane during times not permitted you would not expect a PCN to be rescinded but that neglects to look at other possible mitigating circumstances that may or may not be accepted by the issuer or Tribunal, nor does it account for the fact that as other posters have evidenced that they did receive refunds during the time when notification was not given as this is what is expected of Southwark. I just want to find out when the notice period was. With bus lanes operated by TFL they have clear times of use or non use and when entering a bus lane you would expect to get a fine if using it within restricted times, almost immediately the next day. These PCNs were issued later but dated September which also poses the question of whether there are system errors.
  15. Hi wondering if anyone has received another PCN as we had one for 30th Sept and prior to this we had 2 one of which said it was cancelled another one exactly the same was later posted. We called Southwark who told us to email them and get it rescinded. We heard no more and today got a PCN for ?130. Does anyone know if we could challenge this, would the notification period have included 30th September?
  16. Is it worth telling the manager unless of course he is one of the men involved! I must say although we've not encountered any such horrid remarks but don't think they're that good either like you say. My son went there once and didnt like it at all. And I definitely would not take the kids there if this is whats happening. He much preferred going to old fashioned barbers down in Peckham and they give the kids lollies after!
  17. Does anyone have further information about what happened today. Apparently Friern road was taped off by police and a man was later arrested near Etherow street. Is this the same incident?
  18. Good to know, what about those who pay directly to their landlord, Southwark, should they claim from Southwark?
  19. Glad your son is ok, it must have been a terrible shock. Did the Police catch the perpetrators? Wonder who else they would have done this to and if their parents and schools were suitably notified. I agree it does seem harder to give children their freedom when you hear things like this really makes you anxious as a parent.
  20. https://www.facebook.com/SunTaekwondoClub/about/?entry_point=about_section_header Try Sun Taekwondo which is held in East Dulwich Leisure Centre and Jags Sports Club throughout the week. This is the facebook page
  21. No water Friern rd either. This has been going on for months in the area. How does leigham ct rd affect SE22?
  22. Definitely eurotunnel, quicker and more convenient. Any delays you can at least go to shops etc rather than ferry which can be painful wait with choppy seas.
