  1. When are the school holidays over? Anyone? Louisa.
  2. Foxy, it isn't a big issue signing out at the end of a post, do not rise to their attempt at banter. Louisa.
  3. No Dopamine1979 it is not. I am constantly frustrated by poor pavement etiquette, however on this occasion I think I may have over stepped the mark hence my apology above, I do hope they read this forum and this thread. It was a poor decision on their part to not move over but my reaction was not sufficient and for once I hold my hands up. Louisa.
  4. Interestingly, both gge12 and robbin are more recent members of the forum, and welcome to you both. Coincidence perhaps? I am not prepared to stoop to the back of the sofa to pull out a handful of one and two pence pieces covered in hairs thanks all the same, but nice try. Louisa.
  5. Baggs, I'm more than happy to hold hands with you or anyone else. It's not the holding hands I have the issue with here, it's the pavement hogging that's the problem. gge12 what on earth are you going on about? I did say something at the time, have you not read above? And the second part of your post is lost on me, no idea what you're getting at. Louisa.
  6. Ok so she's done that in the past and it worked, try it again? If it doesn't work, contact Southwark? It's not rocket science! A whole year of no sleep and this is where we are at with this? Are you involved with the people umming and aaring over the PR station refurb by any chance? Louisa.
  7. Katie Hopkins would be proud of that top 10. Louisa.
  8. Tootsmonkey that's fair enough, but your earlier message suggested to me you had spoken with or communicated via the forum. Thanks for clearing that misunderstanding up. No I do not live in said location, where is fenwich road anyway? If you now know where the owner lives how about posting a letter through the door leaving a number or email address for them to contact you via? I just do not understand why this needs to be posted on the forum if you have all the relevant contact details. Louisa.
  9. Tootsmonkey Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The power of the forum. > > Thank you, to the owner who has taken my rant on > board and stopped there dog barking at unsociable > hours. > Hang on Tootsmonkey, you earlier claimed to have communicated with the owner and solved the issue. You're now saying you don't know where the dog is, I'm confused? So have you confronted the owner or not? I'm not underestimating sleep deprivation at all, I'm just asking you why you have not contacted the relevant people to solve the issue, that is all. Louisa.
  10. Some people never learn. I just don't get, is there no personal responsibility these days? You'd surely just let loose and move over it's not a big deal is it? Louisa.
  11. So a quick walk to the shop turns into a blazing argument over pavement space. Not only am I fighting off bloody cyclists on the pavement and cars mounting kerbs, I now find myself flying at a couple for holding hands on the street. Why? Why would you do it? You saw me coming a good 20ft away at LEAST! If you're anyone walking on the street be kind enough to move over when you see someone coming towards you please. And there was no need to call me what you did, I wasn't just making a fuss I was genuinely p/$$ed off! I'm prepared to apologise for the choice words I used regarding your size, it wasn't fair and I do hope you read this. Just think next time. Thanks. Louisa.
  12. Woooooooo Seabag, don't even go there. This don't end pretty! ;-) Louisa.
  13. Fat couples holding hands down the street and not giving way to passing traffic coming in the other direction. Thanks, I'll just kill myself then and walk out into the bloody road because your too selfish to let go of each for two stinking seconds or maybe consider going on a diet so I could at least squeeze past on the kerb? Pair of burger hungry ?&@%#. Louisa.
  14. Zebedee I agree. For some reason some people just can't help themselves. I have to admit to very occasionally jumping on that bandwagon though I must say. Louisa.
  15. Yes P68 totally agree with your point about "Home Counties prices for expectations of something better". However, that's the way of supply and demand, surely these people should know this? They do tend to have higher expectations of things in general, especially if they believe they're paying through the nose for it. A very working class trait has always traditionally been to make do with what you have, something someone from said background would struggle with. They'd be your class Uni educated posh person with family in the sticks who rents in London and makes a big deal out of literally the smallest thing, maybe a tipping point related to genuine stress, maybe just frustration that they live in shit and pay a lot of money to do so? It's the 'I'm educated and am rich and deserve better than this' mentality. Louisa.
  16. Class plays a huge part in "first world problems" (to quote another thread). People who grew up in the wealthy Home Counties coming from comfortable backgrounds move to London expecting all the amenities of the city without any of the negative sides. Noise is part of city life, dogs barking, sirens blazing, people shouting. Unfortunately, middle class ears are just too sensitive to this. It's the 'disgusted of Tunbridge Wells..' mentality. These people love to make a big deal out something, and it pains me to say this, someone of a lower class order would not even bother about. Louisa.
  17. I disagree it's not all middle class, a lot of inner London have moved there post war especially to places like Orpington, and what's wrong with chain stores? It means you've got somewhere to go shopping! Characterless? Home to downe house and Charles Darwin, HG Wells some beautiful countryside and parks, old churches I don't get where everyone gets these ideas from. Louisa.
  18. Exactly Chunksmum, my point exactly. No reply to my points either, just this droning rant in face three posts worth without a response initially. But no, Tootsmonkey decides to rant on here about it and make a song and dance out of what I would describe as a storm in a teacup, rather than solve the issue. Boring. Louisa.
  19. Jeremy, I've now expanded my search beyond the county of Devon. I've even considered a caravan in Hastings. When I say Bromley, I'm not referring to the town centre, I'm talking about further out of the borough towards the Kent borders. Biggin Hill perhaps? I just don't want to move anywhere with too many sneering middle England types, hence expanding my search out towards Kent. Louisa.
  20. Or if none of the above works, invest in some ear muffs. Louisa.
  21. BNG my inability to move to Bromley has nothing whatsoever to do with first world problems. I've just yet to find the right place, hardly a problem, and I hardly bang on about it, just the occasional mention here and there. No biggy. Tootsmonkey yes I am "for real". A whole year you've not been able to sleep you say? If you were genuinely concerned about this you would have confronted the person and reached a compromise by now OR worst case scenario gone to Southwark noise people and told them about it. But no, you come on this forum and bang on about it? So no sympathy from me, sorry. Louisa
  22. Groucho Marx (1890-1977): 'I never forget a face, but in your case I?d be glad to make an exception.' Louisa.
  23. First world problems. Get over it. Louisa.
  24. Yes I am. It's greener, cleaner and has far more amenities than we have around here (unless that changes of course). Louisa.
  25. Wish I was in the Bromley at the time. In fact wish I was in Bromley now tbh. Louisa.
