Looking for orthodontist recommendation
monkeyspanner replied to carebear's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I used premier orthodontics in Bromley & took my baby..would definitely recommend but maybe a bit far -
Andrea Magauran at Moorgate Dental (& her nurse Carmen) is amazing. She has filled many of my teeth and given me a crown, all painless and in a calm atmosphere. I have had varying levels of nerves over the years and she has been brilliant.

Hi Shaila, ours is doing the same - on the se15 side of peckham rye park. Just the last few days, it seems as soon as I step away from my laptop the connection drops. Multiple times per day.

Recommendations for Mortgage Broker
monkeyspanner replied to LV0210's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Can someone be kind enough to explain to me (ignorant but in need of a remortgage) 1) what's the point of getting a broker rather than looking round myself? 2) do they charge you or have some deal with the mortgage provider where they get a finder's fee? -
Adding a recommendation for Pavel and his movers, we are just about to move with him again because last time we used him we were very pleased with every aspect of his service.

Shattered, shattered, shattered

I have two big sealed bottles of floradix going free if anyone wants them, pm me (I need stronger iron supplements). Get your iron and thyroid levels checked as someone said upthread. -
Another recommendation for Des. He has just finished painting the outside of our house to a very high standard. He is reliable and trustworthy and a real perfectionist. He always left the area he was working in tidy and gave good advice on materials and solutions. We will definitely be asking him back next year when there is more work to be done on the inside. Happy if anyone wanted to pm me with any qus.

Can anyone recommend cleaners for an emergency deep clean today? We just got back from a few days away and the builders who were doing some small fixes to a few rooms have trashed my entire house );

Have you connected this with the other thread on here about Mario 'the window cleaner'?

Just wanted to give out a warning that I had two obvious sales guys knock on the door at 3pm today using the opening line 'Have you had time to read your energy report?' When I asked 'what report' the answer was 'From the government'. Yeah right... that was the end of that conversation. Do not sign anything or give them any money.

Does anyone know if the Carnegie library chess club has relocated? Or have the organiser's contact details? Thanks

Hello, my front gate has come adrift from its post - the screws have all fallen out. Grateful for recommendations or pm me if you could do it.

Recommendation for reliable roofer needed urgently!
monkeyspanner replied to LuLu Too's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Jake Davison 07787 523 850. Really nice guy, will go up & take photos of what needs doing to go with your quote. Worked on our roof like a hard worky thing. Got him from the forum so u can prob find more info on him here. -
I have 3 or 4 trees that need a good seeing too - maybe pollarding (not sure) and others which need a bit of a trim. We previously had some guy who was more on the tree's side and said he'd do what was best for the tree as I was being a bit too demanding and cut hardly anything off at all. Any recommendations appreciated..

Wanted: someone to fix a damp problem
monkeyspanner replied to Pickle's topic in Request a Tradesperson
might be a bit late for you but I would recommend David Duggan 07943 804 075. He found and fixed a damp problem for us (& the damage the damp had done to our floor joists) at a reasonable price. I thought he was excellent and the quality of his & team's work high. Having had quite a few people round to discuss damp, he is of the 'all damp has a cause, identify the cause & fix that problem' school rather than the chemical damp treatment salesmen & so on. pm me if you have any questions.
