  1. I remember Harrison's gold at the Olympics. I watched every one of his fights. He looked excellent and had terrific heart. Christ knows what happened to him.
  2. I was watching a few 70s heavyweight fights the other day. Amazing how good the nearly men were - so Jerry Quarry, Shavers, Ron Lyle. makes you realise how weak the heavyweights are today, bar the top two or three. Quarry Shavers and Foreman Lyle are worth watching if you have ten minutes to kill.
  3. It is a little bit tasty around there. A couple of shootings in the last year on Sumner I recall. You would be near some good bus routes though so not too hair raising a walk back home at night. As Peckham Rose says far more good in Peckham than bad. Perhaps have a walk around the area of an evening, see what you think
  4. It's as if South Park's legendary Gnomes episode was never broadcast. I suggest we watch it again for sage advice on coffee and the nature of profit.
  5. Inspired on every level. All alternative therapy threads on the Forum should be routed through to this!
  6. No. They're good. But they're only bloody burgers. Read the thread again.

    Drinks

James Lee Burke's Robicheaux novels have the recovering alcoholic drinking Dr Peppers as his booze substitute. Irn strikes me as having similar potential
  8. The Regent by a mile. Trust me

    The Daily Mail

The Daily Heil is a risible rag (as occasionally is the Farringdon Bogroll). I heard Dacre drove this campaign because Neville Lawrence (the father) was his decorator. That might be apocryphal, but I have a vague recollection.
  10. Apparently Waitrose had a '10 items or fewer' aisle.
  11. If you know the adventure playground in question and it's not quite as set out here. The playground in the photo is I think the usual bog standard playground you typically get in London parks. What they're planning to charge for (and at weekends only) is the advebnture playground which abuts the playground in the picture. It is an extraordinary place, with lots of playworker support, and quite unlike anything I've seen in a London park. Not saying this is a good thing at all. But just for a bit of balance (the Mail span it similarly)...

    Zumba

Amanda at Push comes recommended. Details here. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?6,570273,574770#msg-574770
  13. "Why come to the EDF to talk about Peckham" Perhaps because thousands of ED dwellers use PR station each day?
  14. Fab Spectacular Godwin. Finest I've ever seen.
  15. Fury's the future; i tell you! Haye inside 4 I reckon.
  16. Rocker. Better transport
  17. They lost 4-3.
  18. Extra time. I'm following 'the pigeon stands' twitter feed. He's not optimistic
  19. Hamlet 3-1 up last I heard.
  20. DJK Trolling indeed, although not Frankito. Southwark's parks don't open uniformly at 8. DP is open before then (at the village entrance). Ditto Belair. Burgess and Warwick Gardens are always open. Lambeth's Ruskin and Brockwell are open from about 7. Southwark could, with good management, and at no extra cost, ensure they're all open roughly at sunrise throughout the year.
  21. Leatherhead I think: the higher finishing team has home advanatge in the play offs. Date not yet fixed, but 7 May is the rumour.
  22. You know the Hamlets play in pink right? So there's romance. And the romance of the Cup? Plus Marie Stopes lived in Leatherhead. I rest my case.
