  1. Fenton Walsh on Bellenden Road has some good men's stuff (not a huge quantity, but more interesting than White Stuff). Bonas is a bit boring and identikit, but I have realised that that is clearly what we all want or else these bloody shops wouldn't keep opening, so I will not moan and continue to buy my clothes outside the village.

I went to a shindig at his gaff. well a reception anyway - his suit was terrfically sharp, he looked delicious and he was terribly charming. the look was only marred when wifie Sarah ran in in cardie and slippers, chasing after the child who had escaped and was hiding under a chair. hmm, even the broodingly dour Gordon Brown can't control his offspring in public
  5. they do a nice line of fascinators
  6. what is this Andy's of Denmark Street of which you speak?
  7. hahaha, I really objected to the White Stuff on the grounds that we're turning into Clapham, but the real truth is I find their clothes ugly and boring. Oliver Bonas on the other hand has all the lovely random tat that I like to buy - I'm torn - should I be upset that we're turning more and more into Clapham every day, or should I succumb to the inevitable with grace and buy a cushion?
  8. quite right - there's nothing remotely emancipated about sagging bosoms
  9. Love in an elevator - aerosmith

I fancy Gordon Brown. Am I the only one on here?
  11. I am not new, but I have been away for some time, but now am back. So hello from me too, in what must rate as one of the most tedious messages on here. I apologise
  12. would be interested to know if there are any parents on here who take their kids to pubs / bars in the evening. what do parents think of people talking about inappropriate subject matter around their kids? it seems to me that pubs are adult spaces, where adult conversations take place, but many people may feel the need to self-censor if there are children close at hand. I'm not saying I have the mouth of a fishwife (although sometimes I do), but I want to be able to swear if I feel like it, or make like Sex and the City and discuss the finer points of my sex life if I so choose.
  13. if people still did their shopping on the high street, there would be no need to drive to out of town supermarkets. and possibly more food would be local, though that's not guaranteed, but probably not flown in from Kenya or Peru. surely it's not very hard to walk to the supermarket AND take your own bag? that's what I do on the occasions the fabulous retailers of ED are unable to furnish me with my comestibles. and the cupboard under my sink no longer spews forth screwed up carrier bags when I'm looking for the brasso
  14. I'll get my pitchfork
  15. would love to, but work prevents it - definitely next week though
  16. Brendan Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > You don?t work there by any chance Mikeb? That was the point I was trying to make with my obscure Hamlet reference
  17. No no, no rat - just a slightly drunken and slightly opaque reference to a play I once read. Categorically no rats - apologies for any confusion (or suggestion that there may be rats, mice or any other kind of vermin)
  18. I went there, but I spied a rat behind the arras. So I stabbed it with my fork full of vegetarian deliciousness.
  19. does that mean no open day this weekend do you know?
  20. sorry, am still waiting for the call and don't think I'm going to make it tonight now - definitely on for next week and sorry Mogs - I know you were bringing the dvd for me (I do have booze and chocolate for you as thanks / apologies if that helps!)
  21. really, bugger. and I'm still in the office
  22. Bugger, still waiting for a client phone call from the states, will be there as soon as I can but likely to be v late. great first impression - I forgot to learn the two letter words as well
  23. Clearly being a bit dopey, but what time is it and where (is it the Plough?)
  24. Is it a James Blunt of estate agents?
  25. If newbie doesn't have goolies does she have to take additional minutes of egg pelting? I was planning on coming along this evening and am concerned now that I don't have the requisite cojones for boot-blacking.
