It's all the same price: lobster n chips, lobster roll n chips, burger n chips - ?20. Can't imagine why anyone would have the burger really. Suppose it keeps the allergics happy.

Oh yeah, a Lucky Chip - fucking delicious - wear a bib. Has anyone been to Lobster & Burger and had the burger?
-
And stole the telephone from the Italians.

Otta, *Bob*, I'll tell you what the big deal is with a good burger and that's hot, juicy umami my friends. Meat = umami Cheese - umami Ketchup = umami Holy cow, it's a holy trinity of delicious moreishness! Which is massively lacking in a MaccaD's. Don't get me wrong, sometimes (usually once a year or so, after many and several pints) a quarter pounder with cheese is just what the doctor ordered. But McDonalds are sweet rather than savoury, and they're bone-dry, all the moisture coming from the sauce and the gherkins. A good Meatliquor burger doesn't feel any less dirty, but it tastes deep-down savoury, and when the juices dribble down your fingers, you want to lick them. I don't feel that way about the faint film of grease on a McD's bun.

Hmm, Crocodile, perhaps that a thread that was dead and buried was resurrected just to have a go at people...?

Hugo, did you just agree with everything I said? But say it, you know, after me...? But El Pibe yeah, I can't disagree with a word of what you said. I feel the same about the rage directed at chuggers, or people selling tat door to door. I used to enjoy a visit from the pop man - now people post on here because someone knocked on their door in a suspect manner. I'm inclined to think that we're no better, no worse, than we've ever been, just more paranoid. And while we may mock the Daily Mail a lot on here (and let's face it, what's not to mock?) oftentimes this forum makes a pretty good stand-in.

In all likelihood you're right El Pibe, but it's still a bit dodgy. Not necessarily from an outbreak of paediatricians in our parks standpoint - but if this guys doing surveys with minors, then he should be getting parental consent. Perhaps he's a local ice cream man and wants to establish which schools he should be targeting come summer with his delicious dairy goodness. And perhaps he has no budget for fancy-dan marketing companies so perhaps he is doing it himself, and perhaps he doesn't realise that the market research code of conduct says he needs parental permission. Common sense should tell him that he might want to look into it a bit though, no?

Come now David - seconded? Nothing to add?? I've got 12 hours to fill!!! And citizenEd - (tu) (while I don't generally do punctuation faces, I will make exceptions to make like the Fonz).
-
Yes indeed Quids - is a Wigan wedding, so a majority of white faces - but also means there'll be a fair bit of northern soul (yay!), and inevitably Verve and Oasis and stuff of that ilk (meh). There'll be some Desmond Decker for sure, probably a bit of Bob Marley in the afternoon, but not a big reggae crowd really. Ain't no way on god's earth I'm putting Jack Johnson on there unless bride or groom specifically demand it with a gun to my head - as they've left it up to me they can love the Shirelles and the Crystals and thank me for my impeccable taste! Proclaimers and Europe - excellent. And Hugo - test match special - brilliant, I'm going to have to see if I can download that. Boy with the arab strap I wouldnae have thought of, but very good call. Grease too, yeah baby, please keep 'em coming.

Yeah, creating one mammoth playlist on itunes, so I can just hit play and then forget about it. Ooh, great site, thanks.

I'm seeking some advice. I've been asked to create a playlist for my sister's wedding next month. Ordinarily I'd be jumping up and down with glee, but I need to make it at least 12 hours long, and I have absolutely no steer from bride or groom - so am trying to make something that will please more than just me. It's an informal marquee-in-the-garden do, taking place at their home after the church. So I need to cover: - arrival back from church drinks (about 2pm) - buffet eating - general milling drinking etc - "evening do" begins (7pm) I think I'm good up to 7 o'clock, although any recommendations for must-haves greatly appreciated (currently thinking quite 60s - motown, british girl groups, Faces, Turtles etc.) But what do I do at 7? Do I start the dancing tunes then, or just liven them up a bit more to start a bit later? And what about end of the night tunes - how long do I need to start signalling a wind-down to suggest people leave? Any suggestions very gratefully received.

Well D_C, I was thinking pretty much that - cider (with Rosie!) bit of cream, tarragon. Problem is that it has to be wild, so I'm going to head to Borough I think tomorrow and see what they've got. If no wild rabbit, I'll see what is wild and have to build the meal around that. The curse of principled friends, eh?
-
Thanks Netts, that's awesome. Knew I could count on you.
-
Come now Strafer, you know Hugo well enough to know that he don't hold no truck with the likes of vegematarians.
-
THAT's who he is! Haha, brilliant - couldn't place him...
-
Easter lunch - I'm planning to make an Easter Bunny pie, but need to source me some wild rabbit. Any ideas where I may lay hands on such a thing? William Rose only have farmed. I could order online, but I'd end up paying as much for the delivery as I would for the meat itself. Also, any genius ideas on a vegetarian pie for two that feels festive, and will still go with whatever sides I decide on for the rabbit pie? Oh, and lastly, how do I make vegetarian roast potatoes delicious? Any advance on olive oil, rosemary, garlic?

El Pibe Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Sorry are we talking about Sherlock, I'm confused? > Does every BBC drama have the same is-he-isn't-he > 'cliffhanger' then? No, because Silent Witness didn't have a cliffhanger. The last episode showed Harry getting into a car with Leo and the bad witch sister from Merlin, who both looked very relieved, and a flashback sequence that showed who actually died (someone did). It was very clear cut, I think t-e-d must just have switched off early. And Hughie, Homeland - f*ck yeah!
-
Hey t-e-d, I'm guessing you didn't see the very end of the last series. Harry didn't die. What we thought we saw wasn't what we actually saw, and a whole switcheroo took place. It was a little shark-jumping, but given that handsome Harry is still on our screens, I'm happy to suspend my disbelief.
