  1. I was in hospital for two weeks earlier this year. Not one chilli did I see. Tarot, you're utterly bonkers. But thank god it's Christmas, I'm asking you if you would like stepping into Christmas with me, and, you know, God bless us, everyone. Has anyone got those Christmas tree lights that are a string of chillies?
  2. I love you people, I really do. Normally, I'd tell the vegetarians that gravy = meat juices and to suck it up, but I want these ones to like me. So Bisto with all those lovely lovelinesses it is. And God bless us, everyone xxx
  3. While I appreciate the term "vegetarian gravy" is practically an oxymoron, nevertheless I have been tasked with fashioning such this coming weekend. Can anyone recommend any recipes that don't taste of little more than celery and marmite? I have, of course, JFGIed, but am hoping that the caring sharing bosom of the EDF may yield some reliably choice morsels.
  4. Ah, if only I could find a man with no discernible sense of style and a loyalty card at White Stuff...
  5. Hot. Oftentimes.

  7. Oh my fucking god. HAL, have you been drinking the kool aid, and if so, whose? What the fuck is this insanity about? And in answer to the OP - yes, OF COURSE Cameron's a toff. Does that make him a bad man? No. Do other things make him a bad man? Well, quite possibly. This place is getting more bonkers by the second.
  8. Nifty. I like nifty. And therefore I must like Bono, I think? BonoBonoBonoBonoBonoBono. Sounds like Bonobo, and I like bonobos. They're nifty. Not shifty.
  9. "it"??? Santa? It? Oh, we surely do need a little Christmas around here.
  10. Yeah, I'm with Jah - I can't say I've ever thought it expensive. Maybe it's a relative thing, in comparison to a typical curry house on the strip. I reckon that if you want to rein in the spending, go for a thali. Everything you could want and more, so no need to order anything else. I can't finish the main thali, so depending how greedy I'm feeling may go for the mini, so no complaints about portion size here (and even cheaper). Fricking LOVE Ganapati.

I put it there, having not stolen it from happylarry, but found it lying in the road. I saved it from becoming yet another road fatality statistic. But happylarry, this is not the shoe you are looking for. You can go about your business. Move along. (unless you've been spinning us a line and what you've actually lost is a peep toe wedge brogue..?)

So I'm too late to pop round?
  13. Meat - good Liquor - good Meat Liquor sounds like bull shot goodness to me. What's not to love? In fact, is anyone on their way home and could pick me up a take out?
  14. I know what we need...
  15. I'd certainly be interested as a shopper. Just one thought though - is it maybe a little too close to Christmas. I find I don't want to risk the hand made (by someone else's hand) with so little time to shop if it's all tat. I'm quite sure it wouldn't be, but you get my point. Most of the open studios etc I go to for Christmas presents are quite a bit earlier, leaving me time to hit the high street if I still need to. Could you do it the weekend before?

Thanks SJ. Just remembered why I stopped using the laptop - doesn't really work. Only very strong alcohol can help me now.
  18. Just went to log onto an old laptop that I haven't used in over a year, and for the life of me, cannot remember the password. Am trying to cast my mind back to what made me laugh in summer 2010, but nothing springs to mind. It's Windows XP - anyone know if there's a way around it? I promise I haven't stolen it.
  19. Hmm, man-junk you say..?
  20. Thomas, I have no particular Hitler axe to grind, and I'm sure you know that people only wheel out the f?hrer in any argument about vegetarianism to get a rise out of veggies. Nevertheless, I feel obliged to point out that your link to a wacky-wackster website (breast cancer is caused by a "life force stagnation", REALLY???) links through to only one source. Have a look at all the sources on Wikipedia*, for there are many. Most suggesting that he was vegetarian, only a couple suggesting that he was not. So while we may never know the definitive truth, your absolute certainty seems wildly misplaced. *and I make no bold claims for Wikipedia, however, in this instance, the article cites many sources
  21. > Thomas Micklewright Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > > (Ps. Hitler wasn't a veggie, his doctor > encouraged > it for his health but H just didn't have the > staying power) Source? Vegetarian propaganda!

Because fire's tangible, and hot, and destructive, and dangerous, and evocative, and romantic, and primal, and smells great, and sounds great, and stirs the imagination, and you can cook potatoes in it. Whereas that's, you know a powerpoint presentation with delusions of grandeur.
  23. Defensive? Not in the least. Mildly irritated by the offensive (and pretty teenage) presumptuousness displayed on this thread? Yep.
