  1. Why would cars be on pedestrian walkways. Road and pavements When was the last time you you were in LL to see how fast traffice moves.
  2. What are the official figures showing how fast people are going. You have the number of cars going down a major road what are the figures for speed. How will 20 mph make people spend more?
  3. Thanks but not necessary. Brain might overload digesting it in depth
  4. Why did you find it necessary to edit that rather long first message and respond with this one? I am sure people would have found your first answer educational like I did. However it has gone, was it wrong? Makes my response above seem pointless now as it does not appear to respond to your last message
  5. I can see that your University education is standing you in good stead with information. Have you manage to put your traffic education to good effect in a planning job yet? That is why I mentioned man with red flag who knows when a person will jump out. They are rather like those bollards that jump out and hit your mode of transport when you least expect them.
  6. The high street can be used safely and shared with traffic if pedestrians use the pavements and cross at the crossings and not jay walk. Never hear of pedestrians being at fault. As mentioned before LL proceeds at a snails pace. Speed is not a problem. Would like to know where speeding takes place. Is this job creation by Southwark to employ a man with a red flag to control traffic.
  7. Or Ed has an Iceland but no Waitrose or M & S
  8. Do you mean "Lordship Lane" SE22? Traffic never seems to get above a crawl from Goose Green to the Plough.
  9. Explanation from Southwark Dear Mr. Tudor Thank you for your e-mail to Peter John which has been passed to me for reply. I fully understand your concern with the amount of road works in the Bellenden Road area. While the Council has powers to control the manner in which road works are undertaken we do not have the power to refuse an application from companies undertaking the work. In this case Southern Gas Networks are currently working at the junction of Bellenden Road and Chadwick Road. The works are the final phase of gas main replacements in The Lane ward. The works on Bellenden Road commenced in September 2012 and consist of the following, a) laying approximately 350 metres of new 315mm gas mains b) abandoning 350 metres of old 12" gas mains c) 12 mains connections d) relay/renew 52 service connections to properties The works were suspended over the Christmas period to allow some respite to the business and residents and recommenced on February 18th to complete the final 12 service connections to the properties at the junction of Chadwick Road. Works are estimated to completes March 8th. Previous works at this location included the Thames Water Victorian Main Replacement works. Due to the logistics involved and the position of the gas and water mains, it was not possible to have both gas and water working simultaneously. I can assure you that we do scrutinise the these works regularly and if you have any further concerns regarding these works please contact Ian Law, our street works manager, who copied into this e-mail Regards

  16. Again this is a quiet residential street, this late night operation should be on a well lit, busy public road not in effect a quiet back street with no public transport links. Perhaps more thought and investigation should go into proposing where any late night operation should be sited.
  17. The same reason applies to their other application in Chadwick Road. Residential Street not good lighting. Again there is a medical central on Peckham Road which is well populated at night and well lit.
  18. I am sure the reason is obvious!!
  19. Will the service get any better if they get the prescription business they are looking for? They do not seem to have the staff to meet everyday demand. Improve the basic service first.
  20. Another planning application was submitted on 17 dec 2012 for the dmc on Chadwick Road for the same thing. As a surrounding local resident I would have thought consultation letters would have been sent. I have not seen one Any premises dispensing drugs till late would be concern to residents. Strange that no local chemists want to remain open this late to supply. Why? what people will be turning up at 10.00 at night?
  21. If you used Iceland you might find out.
  22. Avoid Chadwick Road SE15 from Bellenden Road to Grove Park. Hill that is now turning to sheet ice. 2 Accidents already. Not gritted
  23. Many thanks. Makes interesting reading.
  24. Exactly interest to a financial lender. What interest rate and for how long and how much was borrowed any arrangements fees if any to fix the loan. Why should it need a foi request. Cllr Barber should be able to tell us or Eleanor Kelly Bottles of orange liquid far more interesting
  25. Where can you see an objection? All that is being asked is how it is being funded. With 170 million being paid out it is a valid question.
