Slightly off topic but.... Temporary lights - why don't they time these to take into consideration cyclists using the part of road that the lights are on? I cycle home, using Rye Lane to get up to ED and went through the lights near the station on green and by the time I reached the other set of lights cars were already coming towards me as their light was now green. I certainly am not the slowest cyclist out there!

5-4-1 actually turned out to be quite an attacking formation last night for the Bears. It meant Whittaker and Broadfoot were able to get forward more and in turn meant Naismith had more freedom to move forward. The Turks didn't look threatening at all (well apart from maybe 10 mins in the second half). Cracking start to the CL. Would never have thought we'd be joint top with 4 points.... the double header with Valencia will make or break our qualification hopes I think.

Had those chaps at the door as well... told them to beat it.

Popped in for a pizza last night. Was top notch as per usual.

Thursday late bars are rare in ED... or so I think. Was wondering around the streets a couple of Thursdays ago past midnight and nothing was open.

Bloody Villa got humped meaning our new ?4m man can't playin the Champs League. Grrrrrr. Ironic too that an ex Celt missed a penalty that probably would have seen Villa go through.
-
Tough draw for the Bears, but to be honest we're only there for the readies. ?14million again this year will do very nicely. Looks like Celtic might not even get through tonight 2-0 down at half time. p.s MM - the SPL winner next year doesn't get automatic qualification to the Group Stages of the CL... think we go into the qualifiers straight away.

An article on O'Neill that will have MM spitting feathers. http://timesonline.typepad.com/thegame/2010/03/is-martin-oneill-all-he-is-cracked-up-to-be.html

You have to love internet forums! I heard all Keane did in his time at Celtic was moan about the state of the pitches and that he didn't particularly enjoy his stint in Glasgow. From another forum of course!

Do it - it is quite simply the best holiday you will do. Me and the other half flew into San Fran, did a quick one day tour, then picked up our 25ft RV. We spent 5 days driving from SF to Los Angeles via Santa Cruz, Big Sur, Pebble Beach (17 mile drive - A-MAH-ZING!!), Hearst Castle, Monteray, Malibu and a couple of other places... probably not in that order as my memory isn't great!! The views, the places, the fun you will have, will far outweigh any costs you may have to spend!! It might be fun to do in a funky convertable and stay places, but having your home in the back of the van makes it so, so easy. There are so many camp sites along route one that are reasonably well priced.... some very basic, some with pools and jacuzzis!!! Was my favourite holiday to date and I would love to go back... wish we had more time to go a little further.

Do you post on here, if so, drop me a PM please.

Caught most of it online and things aren't looking too great for you lot (good for us - we need all the help we can get!!). Far too early to say really in terms of the SPL season ahead, but with not one shot on goal, you'll need a massive change of fortune to salvage your Euro run this year.

Has anyone rode the Moor to Sea Cycle route? Do you think hybrids are suitable to ride or is it more of a mountain bike ride? Thx

Best thing to do is hop on the tour bus... then you can choose any one of the many options to get off and have a look at.. the gaudi park is great, the cathedral very intersting, Barca's footy ground (if you are into footy), the Olympic park...

Ha ha. Must be great being you. NB - seems we must be living in close quarters... luckily I haven't encountered the louts causing you bother. My flat must be too far for them to walk. If you spot 2 youth in a black astra/corsa puffing on the weed, that's my problem. One of them owns the yellow van that's always parked on Dunstans by the school. Can't offer you too much advice though as it's against my "follow follow" code and you obviously "hail hail" ;-)

NB - what end of Goodrich Rd? We've got the problem of a couple of youths constantly sitting in their car right outside our flat smoking weed and constantly throwing their rubbish out of the car window into the street. I've been out three times now to pick up their rubbish and put it in the bin that's about 10 feet from their car. Not got the balls to ever say anything as I quite like my windows and legs!!

Thanks for the suggestions, might try those in future but think we'll head down to Weybridge and cycle along the towpath between there and Godalming: The National Trust, alongside commercial and club ventures, actively promotes the use of the river for leisure activities. All manner of boating activity including canoes and rowing boats, a horse-drawn trip boat, and narrowboats hired and privately owned, use the waterway throughout the year. It is also possible to walk or cycle the full length of the navigations from Godalming to Weybridge with only two minor interruptions, and so casual walkers, serious ramblers, joggers and cyclists are a common sight along the towpaths. http://www.weyriver.co.uk/theriver/wey_nav_1.htm

Had a quick search and couldn't see what I was looking for before the repeat thread police jump on me!! I'm looking for a nice river side route to cycle on Saturday... nothing too strenuous!! Would like it to be less than an hours drive from ED out in to the country side. We did Bewl Reservoir on Sunday which was very pretty and quite a nice ride, but now want a river/canal path type ride to do. Any ideas??

We had an issue with NPower before. They were recording our usage the wrong way (cubic feet rather than cubic metres or vice verssa). Basically it meant they were multiplying our bills by three as they didn't record when a new metre got installed to our flat... could it be this sort of problem??? We're in a 2 bed flat, old sash windows (not double glazed) and we were ninety quid a month for the past 8 months or so... and they've just written to us saying we are now ?500 in credit!!

Obviously handed landed yet if you heard it flying!!

I noticed one of those today. Re the original one from this topic - It must surely have been done by the owner of the house as it was started in broad daylight a couple of Saturday's ago by a couple of people, maybe three... I saw them doing it... was a female doing the painting at the time I went by...

I saw the start of it being done, didn't know what it was at the time though... Middle of the day on Saturday.
