  1. I was gonna pop in there last night, however, there is one punter in there who I cannot stand and it seems he is virtually always there. He goes out for a cig, barely outside the door and blows his smoke straight back into the pub. For some reason this makes my blood boil. Me as a reformed smoker of 5 months should not get angered by this but I do! It actually makes me want to kill!
  2. Michael Palaeologus Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- -Why dont you go an see it live?- Can't afford too, my team is based 80 miles away and a round trip to footy costs more than ?100 with beer and pies thrown in. If pubs advertise footy on then they are doing so to get punters, they should turn the fooking music off for the punters that want to watch the footy. It's only 90 minutes ffs! FFS I SAID FFS!!!!! Solution however is to watch footy in the EDT or Wishing Well! Job Fully Done!
  3. Aye - we shall be ammassing sweets by the bag full for the local nippers. Must remember to get me Pumpkin though as I don't want to be passed by and have to eat bags and bags of fizzy cola bottles myself!
  4. Yes, it's actually named after an ancient now-discredited fascist leader responsible for the death of thousands. Bad Luck!

    Strange tats

I have a mate with Genertion X tattooed on his right arm and Generation X on his left!
  6. I got married upstairs at the Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich and I cannot recommend this enough. The staff there made the day go like clockwork and the food was fantastic. Private bar, enormous dance hall and beautiful surroundings. Don't be put off by advertised price either. I think ours came in at about ?7k less than their website indicates. They are booked up quite a lot so we went for a Thursday which made it possible to get the place and took about ?750 off the price! They have so many options for weddings it is untrue and can easily cater for 100 plus at the service and many many more in the evening! Sounds like I am working for them dunnit?

    Good Luck Keef

    It's a marvelous institution!
  9. Open the dam thing. I hate driving through Peckham to get home!
  10. Damn sorry to hear that Jah Lush. In the Living Years is for me a real tear jerker, especially as the lyrics speak of having your first kiddy and them reminding you of ya dad! It happened to me 4 weeks ago as my first one popped out looking just like the old man! :*( - Lump in throat as typing this....
  11. Anyone with a dead dad cannot avoid bawling at In the Living Years..... sadly my dad is dead and this song reduces me to a wailing wreck.
  12. We also tried this - the food was amazing (I have not tried Tandoori Nights so cannot compare) not oily in any way and seemingly freshly made with fresh ingredients. Trouble was the baby started screaming and most of the curry got left uneaten so ?30 thrown away. Will be trying again though - maybe when the little sod has grown up a lot!
  13. I agree CWALD, I do not want people to think that ED is full of reactionary know nothings. I am a qualified needle exchange worker myself and cannot praise the benefits of these services enough. The sort of people using a NX (not just heroin / crack users by the way) are the people that are taking up these services to make themselves and their environment safer. Not the sort of people that want to collectively attack our children, devalue our precious houses or whatever other unfounded fear the ridiculous rebel rousing NIMBY's can come up with.
  14. I like it for footy and because it is the nearest pub to my house. I also like sitting outside and watching the world go by so all in all it gets a positive note from me!
  15. NIMBYism. A fine trait in today's society. Let's hope the responsible users who would take up the services of this local NX don't start to discard their works in the kids playground cos small minded morons think they can opt out of collective responsibility for society. That would be awful!
  16. Now lunchtime is finally here.....
  17. But because he's the boss
  18. Would never have happened in my day!
  19. Goddam wish I could see that. Worth saving over a litre of gob for!
  20. I work in Lewisham and often need rubbish clearances. I'll keep you in mind!
  21. Think this will be an at home game for me too! Good luck vs Watford! (you'll need it - tee hee) :)-D
  22. Uh Oh? A scummer! I 4-1 think Liverpool will win the title but they will be hard pressed to get anything out of today!
  23. Magdala is too far! Have they got a proper big screen or just the one at the front, I can't remember. If my missus is considerate enough not to give borth tomorrow I am gonna try and get to the boozer for Mighty Pompey Vs Inferior Scousers! Might try the Mag!
  24. The Canning is most definitely a pub. And, I have been known to frequent it which qualifies it for my own definition!
  25. I also go to the Vale for the same reasons as Lady Gooner - not bad for footy I must say! Also, in it's defence there is a new chef (again) and the food is pretty good too! I know it's not popular to like the Vale but for footy shants and scran it is not bad!
