  1. Is Neil actually without address? i.e. rough sleeping? If so, a referral to StreetLink would be timely. http://www.streetlink.org.uk/ Plenty of hostels accept people with dogs nowadays so it should not be a barrier to getting housed, and whilst many hostels are not exactly pleasent, they are part of a journey into independent housing. Let me know if there is any more info you may need. I have been working in homelessness for 20 years.
  2. It is usually a function under settings
  3. Lots of people have bulrushes outside their houses, if you get my meaning!
  4. Glad I asked and it is not just me that is confused.
  5. Genuine question. Are cyclists allowed to overtake on the inside? This oft has caused me a problem!
  6. I love posts like this. Does anyone know how middle class an area needs to become before I can excuse myself from the responsibilities of society and live in a bubble?
  7. A fine joke, although my mum always told me C&A was so named because they sold Coats & 'ats!
  8. Laptop, app, smart tv? If it's laptop the cache may need updating Ctrl f5
  9. Bargain in SE22!
  10. We left for Hayes in Bromley in April. Sold a two bed, bought a 4 bed. The commute is fine really although a bit pricey! Quieter, better schools, less to do but as we have got 2 kids we have no life of our own anyway! One thing I have noticed is that the new school my son is at are quite shocked at the level of literacy he is at for year one. Standards seem very different in the outskirts than in ED as my son was considered a high performer at his old school. I guess this is a good thing....????? There are pros and cons of both, but we had no future in East Dulwich and were starting to feel that we did not fit the demographic any more. Would I move back to ED?? Not in this life. Quality of life in the burbs is just so much better!
  11. I am playing GTA V and am about half way through. Way more playable than 4 with brilliant missions. Love having three characters to play. Only drawback is that I can only play when there are no kids about becuase of the language and frequent use of N word!
  12. What Loz said
  13. Ooh was 15 years ago now. Area has not changed much in terms of resources, but probably has in terms of neighbourhood. Lived in ED for 11 years from 2002 - this year. Moved to the suburbs now for kids, schools, bigger house etc etc etc. Typical ex ED story!
  14. northlondoner Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > What sort of hassle ratty ? Some kids threatened to hit me with a bicycle chain, saying they were the Shadwell dogs (I know, I know), on a separate occassion a girl and a fat kid that had been causing trouble up and down the road (Lyndhurst Grove) were happily smashing the spotlights I had in my drive. I ran out, the fat kid ran off, so I grabbed the girl and told my housemates to call the police. They freaked out, seeing I had a hold of a 14 year old girl and told me to let go of her ffs! I slapped the fat kid a couple of years later when he was of slapable age! He then tried to rob my house. I never saw him again after that!
  15. Bottom end is just a bit more hectic as it is a main thoroughfare. Bottom end of the parallalel road some years ago there was a shooting with posters then put up threatening anyone that spoke to the police. That was on the estate at the end of Denman Road I believe. I lived there for 5 years with no problems other than hassle from kids on the lettsom estate. Just found it a bit remote (I was only 23 though)
  16. Bit dull round there. Poor access to local shops and no decent pubs.
  17. Do you actually eat fook all on 2 days? I'd die!
  18. Had to wait until last night to watch the finale as I have been in Tenerife all week. I was not disappointed and I thought the touch with Gretchen was superb, getting them to pay Walt Junior's money. I found myself sad when Walt died. I don't know why, the hardest scene was him saying goodbye to his baby girl though. That broke me! Fooking loved it when he shot Jack!
  19. I got one on my doorstep in Hayes! (Still ship in Sainos though. Old habits diehard,

    Todd!
  22. Very generous? Chick Pea, I'm afraid you have little idea what you are talking about. I worked for the organisation that used to run this "hostel" (actually it's part of a wider supported housing scheme and not a hostel). It was such a lucrative industry that they had to make all their experienced staff redundant, slash the wages of others (I took a 25 percent pay cut to keep in employment) and they still ended up losing the contract to another provider, primarily on price. In the past, I haven helped people to solve problems that emanated from this scheme. Sadly I am not in a position to do so any more.

I am actually looking forward to the ending! I need closure! I need to see Jessie get the hell out of there too! Plus I am in mourning for my fave character! "She's got an ass like an onion, makes me wanna cry!"
