The point was about getting into debt to buy football success, which is why people wanted us banned from Europe this season (which happened), and some extremists in the media want us to hand b ack our cup win in 2008. Many wanted us banned from the final last year too. Their point was that we were living on debt to buy success. My point is, what's the difference? Hope it works out for LFC, because the alternative is horrible.
  2. The term "Pikey" helped me visualise him actually! Possibly sad but definitely true!
  3. I find it hard to see the difference between this case and ours. Dodgy owners borrowed money on strength of premiership club that they could not pay back so financial institution threatens to put business into administration. So why does every media outlet accuse Pompey of cheating and the same ones want Liverpool to be saved for exactly the same thing (except of course that Liverpool did not win anything). Anyone else confused?
  4. Like cyclists follow the rules of the road anyway!
  5. I think it is pretty amazing! Good luck to them all!
  6. Anyone get glassed last night? Spattered blood everywhere, a pool of blood taped off and all in all pretty grim!

    Cannabis

RosieH Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > ratty, I'd be interested to know how gateway drug > is defined - Well this is the catch. Not sure there is a definition as such. In my experience though, most heroin users have been introduced to the concept of escapism through drugs via cannabis. However, this is now very much changed as it is rare to find an opiate addict that was not or still is a crack user also. Crack is now definitely the pre cursor to an opiate addiction, but I still beleive that cannabis has been in the past. Of course, not for everybody but the link is there and is strong. I am seeing skunk causing it's own problems now, with levels of inertia and paranoia caused by quite shocking and akin to a pretty strong class A habit. It is really sad watching people rot there lives away like this! :(

    Cannabis

Jah Lush Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Cannabis is not a gateway drug. That's just old > tabloid bullshit. Sorry Jah, but having worked with heroin users for the last 15 years I can safely say that cannabis is very, very often a gateway drug and still is. Crack more so now, but traditionally, good old weed is the one.

    Cannabis

There is a big difference between a smoke and a bit of hendrix, and the people who totally cane skunk 24/7. The former I would suggest is quite healthily relaxing and creative, the latter, imo, creates paranoid useless loons!

  15. A huge proportion of money given to beggars will go to a drug dealer. Do you really want to buy cheap, low grade poisons for vulnerable people?? http://www.thamesreach.org.uk/news-and-views/campaigns/giving-to-beggars/
  16. It'll never work. There will be fly tipping everywhere!

I am overjoyed to see that there is earlier adult lane swim, unlike at Peckham Rye where it starts at 8 which is just way too late. Adult swim after work is perfect. Please please please do not change this!
  22. And the washing usually comes out still soaking after a 3 hour dry

Some mums look at you as if you are just about to eat / abduct their children, (presumably these mums have never met a man before), but most are brilliant fun to hang out with!
