I would argue that any manager given the financial backing Bagpuss did would have achieved similar. Perhaps even more as they would probably have not wasted ?7m on David Nugent! ;) I have just heard that Pompey need a buyer by Friday to avoid administration. I feel I need to quantify my comments above. Firstly, the feeling in Portsmouth, where I was when I typed that, is good riddance. Most Pompey fans have not forgiven him for going to Southampton and have been waiting a long time for him to leave the club, so they are overjoyed. I have mixed feelings. Firstly I find him an awful self publicist who sings his own praises all the time. Secondly, his judgement on tactics and players is very suspect, he has his favourites and woe betide any player that does not fit in (Gary O'Neil on loan to cardiff for 3 years?). Thirdly, he insists on employing Kevin Bond at every available opportunity. Congrats at getting three points at home to Bolton Harry - let's hope you can emulate that terrific feet against Arsenal and Liverpool. Oh, and don't turn up for the Freedom of Portsmouth Ceremony on Tuesday! :D :D :D

I think the general consensus here in Pompey is that Spurs are very welcome to him!

Sorry been out all day. Pompey is my home town and I am proud to come from the most densley populated City in the UK. There are not many areas that you would naturally go to that you would need to avoid to be honest. Stick to Southsea / and you won't go far wrong. Eastney is ok too of course. When I was there (left in 94) the places to avoid were Buckland / Landport and Somerstown. I guess they still are! Don't try and walk to Eastney - it is deceptively far away. Get the bus or a cab (cab's are plentiful and all run by the same reasonably priced firm!) Where are you staying? Are you going out for the evening? Do you wanna eat or drink or dance? Remember, you will be among god's own chosen people as soon as you hit a PO post code. Mention Sterns to them and they will love you!!
