  1. Isn't that what insurance is supposed to cover?
  2. Off to eat lunch...
  3. I think you'll find they have to have a bouncer to keep their after midnight licence. If you're not too old to have fun, I still contest this is a good place for a late night drink or two. Still prefer Liquorish, but they need to get their act together on staying open late!
  4. Sit in your car. Only Faraday Cage I have knocking around.
  5. Some people here showing their age I think...
  6. What do you need electricity for? Takeaways and mobile phones. Job's a good'un.
  7. Barry Road is also one of the longest roads in East Dulwich and has MANY roads coming off it, so maybe the crime stats should be normalised for that? Honestly, some people have no grasp for statistics! These two murders were also between known individuals (the first a gang and the second, a couple) as far as I understand. So far I've heard of NO serious crimes against an innocent East Dulwich dweller, aside from the odd perry crime. Get a grip people! Secondly, the 'nicer' the area, the higher the chance of burglaries, so if you're really concerned then you'd better just go live in a safe house somewhere are lock yourself in all day. And if you are worried about burglaries, you're probable statistically worse off living in places like Knightsbridge/Chelsea than in ED.
  8. robmcm is talking about the loop at the back of he boiler which adds more water to the central heating loop on a cobination boiler. This has nothing to do with mains pressure which also impacts hot water (on a combi boiler). Keep reading the maual robmcm...
  9. The cars probably hit each other.
  10. I've got a living room full of them. They make for great stools!
  11. Good riddance to the man! (see previous threads on the man that runs the place) ?550k seems like a bargain for that location.
  12. Tiscali are terrible. Switch to someone else. Period (search my other posts).
  13. I saw the whole thing starting from the Bell end of the road. I looked like an organised police operation. I counted 5 police cars and one unmarked. At least three of the cars were armed (dots in the windscreen corners). They were staking out a house half was down the street. I walked down the street just before it closed and walked past two firearms officers with what looked like rifles of some description. Both were standing opposite the house they were staking out. I didn't stick around to see what was going to develop though...
  14. Ditto. And I'm still waiting for someone to clone my credit card....
  15. How on earth is Bellenden Village East Dulwich? I love the area, but do residents really believe it's East Duwlich? It's in the heart of Peckham Rye! Not that there is anything wrong with that either.
  16. Nothing to do with snobbery, just not in East Dulwich. A boundary has to be placed somewhere!
  17. Well next time someone comes around to my place, I'll ask them if I can take a photo of them for security purposes! And a few fingerprints whilst I'm at it.
  18. Ermm Caron, which planet have you been on for the past 6 months!?
  19. How is this different to the SmartWater kits that they were previously giving out?
  20. Best Kebab & Wine shop?
  21. No carbs for dinner and eat little and often during the day. Try to get more cals from protein rather than carbs (not easy!). Carb up in the morning by eating a good sized portion of museli that will keep you going till lunch. Drink plenty of water over the corse of the day (around 3 litres if you can). Limit caffeine intake - nothing after lunch if you can. If you drink milk based coffee, then always use skimmed or semi-skimmed milk. If you do a desk job like me, you need surprisingly few carbs to get you through the day. Snack on fruit or popcorn!
  22. Put it in a cash isa. Avoid stocks for at least a year!
  23. beatnic thanks for the explanation - that's the best summary I've read on it. I've been meaning to check it out for a while now. I used to be quite big on Facebook, but soon got bored and now only use it to send messages.
