I don’t want the gatekeepers/key holders deciding what or what doesn’t merit being on the board. It’s for council/municipal information only. It’s not right that commercial or political parties or social campaigners be allowed to take advantage of such a facility. So, if the key holder can work with the relevant councillor/s, this would be a great idea. If not, it woudn’t.

Dangers of current levels of air pollution in the UK
Nigello replied to Sue's topic in Roads & Transport
Does air pollution reduce significantly when schools are on holiday? Congestion does, so I’m guessing it does go down but I’d like to see evidence. -
Council street cleaners sometimes bag up and leave them on top of the bins they empty. Some don’t. Best you can do is send images with date/time/location to your MP and councillor (via WriteToThem, with full address and phone number). Or, pick up the odd can or bottle or tied-up poo bag every now and then. How do we know for certain that binmen, street cleaners or bag collectors do or don’t have the time?

Yes, it’s this kind. I only noticed it because it’s in more places than I’ve seen it before.

How about doing what is necessary but not what looks extra-good on the world stage (such as fixing and hitting targets that go beyond requirements). -
No, it’s not fluffy and wispy. It’s like a miniature and green version of wheat. Anyway, there’s a lot of it about!

I’ve noticed a lot more of that green grass that looks a bit like corn or barley. Is it naturally-occurring or should I suspect the hand of a “guerrilla gardener”?

Please tell me where the *bats* are. I’ve an empty swift box so I’m more interested in the little flying mammals.

Which part of Upland? I’m guessing nearer to the cemetery.

The board in the Village (just near the pub) is in pristine condition, full of council-related information (though someone had stuck a flyer on the glass, now removed). Maybe the councillors there actually CBA to make use of a facility that took time, effort and taxpayers’ money to instal?

“Unhelpful” to what or to whom? It suggests you require any response to accommodate your views. It’s a forum, not a support group. Maybe the school run could be done on foot or on bicycle to be “helpful” to you and others?

Is there a phone number for the Peckham sorting office that anyone could share?
-
How could P Rye accommodate bus lanes? There are only two lanes - one in each direction. Part of the grassy area would need to be removed and then Tarmaced to have at least one lane extra.

Poundland East Dulwich soon to be replaced by Tesco Express
Nigello replied to satsuma's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Poundland on LL was/is badly run. It’s often too hot, the products sometimes lack price tags, the music is loud and cuts out every fifteen seconds so I can’t say I’m surprised but I’m sad it’s going. -
Pavement widening outside M&S nr East Dulwich station...

Austerity or CBA-ity? -
Tas on The Cut is decent and has tables outside. The road is not too busy now so it can be pleasant.

I went online and, after crawling through lots of options, finally got to a page that allowed me to make a complaint that wasn’t to do with a generic problem. I explained that lots of people in and around SE22 are having irregular deliveries.

Lots of these bins are emptied far too infrequently. I’ve let Scope know about their bin opposite the Tesco near P Rye, and the owners of the bin at the Plough. Rags and old towels make perfect nesting material for mice and rats!

Adult-sized one needed. Please send PM with contact info. Thank you

I smelt it also and asked a staff member where it was coming from a few days ago. She said it was something to do with cleaning but I wasn’t sure because it was in poor English and she replied while walking away from me at some speed. I got the impression it was a subject she wasn’t keen to discuss!

Focus your phone’s camera on the QR code on the mudguard and you’ll be able to report any badly parked or damaged Lime bike.

I and you and everyone else should not have to wait that long to see the station and its surroundings approach anything like a commercial and leisure area ought to look. The Lane has been a midden for decades and the council leaves it be, neglecting some of the poorest and least sharp-elbowed residents and visitors while having no such qualms in other parts of the borough.
