  1. Would someone explain this simple question with a simple answer. News and gossip, Lounge I read both so why would it matter where you posted? I cannot see why you are in Siberia as people will read what you post and answer. East Dulwich or the real world? Does it matter?
  2. That is brilliant a new element and fixing ?65. Most repair people have a standing charge of about ?45/50 before they start. Will make a note of the spin doctor

How can you lower the tone when most shops and stalls are ethnic? Raising the tone would seems to be a new direction
  4. Just shows what a professional approach can achieve instead of asking Uncle Tom Cobbly and all what they want. Peckham Station ring any bells. As London Mix has pointed out read the application before stating a media frenzy
  5. JohnL Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Over 100 anti comments on the application and 1500 > almost on the petition. > > Whatever the merits/spin it's taken off. Not to difficult to get these figures most of the people doing it sit on their computers most of the day and follow the herd instinct. Doubt if many of them live in the area. On things like this it should be a proper written object with a name and address that can be checked.
  6. What is not mentioned is that many of those objecting will probably not be around in the next few years when they grow up and move away and the area will be left with the dump that Peckham is now. Why will people not allow the area to move on?
  7. New scheme will also restrict / prohibit the use of CLF / Bussey outside Courtyard space + the potential loss of up to 700 jobs. What 700 jobs?

I am sure the freedom pass makes a great difference in stretching the value of the very low State Pension not many people have the benefit if a local Authority pension.
  9. Wonder what your view would be when you reach 60+ The bus pass is a life line to all older folks. The criteria for the pass has changed and you do have to apply to be accepted. Sure if you had one you would think different.

Did they have an official radar device? Or was it the normal ED thing where unless it is stationary it is going to fast. Thought you comment very sensible. Common sense is needed
  11. When you take into account all the housing behind Appleshaw House, Arnold Avenue, Cleve Hall Estate, Wanley Road, Dylways, Blanchdowne, Ruskin Park House, all the flats along Denmark Hill and all the private housing you get into serious numbers. So low numbers get what they want. Students do not usually have cars. I think it was agreed earlier there was no reason to play around with this area as it was already a quietway Sustrans/Southwark have already decided. It will result in chaos. There never has been a problem except in the minds of the green brigade. There used to be very large green houses were the student place is perhaps they should pull it down and we can go back to growing our own food and not have to travel to replenish. I am all for safety but it is getting beyond a joke now.

Get your Cllr and Local MP to put in a members equiry. Copy all correspondence to eleanor kelly and peter.john @southwark.gov.uk They should be able to get the ball rolling before you think of the LVT. Not called the LVT but another body, easy to look up. They will probably threaten you with speaking with your mortgage lender if they do just tell them and instruct them not to pay as there is a dispute.

Was it because you were a freeholder? not on any estate but a street property.
  14. If it was internal repairs I suspect not. Responsive repairs are for structural repairs not internal flat repairs. I would challenge and get your local Cllr to take the matter up.
  15. So it's a cycle lane so what do children do cross the road to the safe side. Common sense is going out of the window on this cycling rubbish. Accept one thing no matter what people say any cycling changes it will get pushed through as most people will be unaware it is happening. Just like the 20 mph chaos. Unfortunately it seems like we are behind led by children still wet behind the ears with no real life experience.
  16. Crazy idea unfortunately. Already had one of my children hit by a cyclist on the pavement. Front door--garden path-- pavement-- bang.
  17. Posts from townleygreen Im not a zealot. Neither am I anti-car. I own one, after all. Just don't use it much except to drive away from London. I like Lidl but if I'm doing a largeish shop with a car, I can never get everything I want there! It's then a pain to go somewhere else for the last few bits

Townleygreen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > No, miko, if we take action NOW and make the > correct decisions, we can prevent meltdown in the > future and make London more like Copenhagen rather > than the polluted hell that kills 9,500 per year. You keep mentioning Copenhagen and Holland but have you actually lived in these counties and experienced what you preach first hand? Official handouts and real experience are normally miles apart and bear no relation to the real world.
  19. Looks like you are not the only one who thinks this is the case "Posted by richard tudor Yesterday, 06:47PM Councils want to cock up traffic flows so they can bring in more and more control. It also does not help that young and thrusting graduates with throbbing red felt pens need to make their mark for saving the planet and introduce the theory that they have learnt from books. Why did we never have this mass balls up before?"

You seem to be saying sorry for many things just lately, what are you setting us up for that might appear in the future?
  21. They are going to charge 5np for each bag. When they deduct cost and overheads how much will be given to what ever charity they can make up.
  22. How do you know people want this 20mph apart from the usual people on this forum. Have the vast Southwark public been asked?
  23. La la land bullsh.t
  24. The key words you have not commented on are Reckless and agressive cycling
  25. It was in the Labour Manifesto. Last paragraph on page 7 out of 10 in small print. Under the heading of healthy living. By the time you got to it you were brain dead from all that went before Suspect people never even made it that far
