  1. ? In a book I read recently on boosting creativity, a male creative says he goes for long late night solo walks at 10pm around local parks and canals to stir up ideas. IMAGINE? Men have no idea how lucky they are compared to women when it comes to casual safety
  2. Oh man. I think I?m just going to have to accept I screwed up on this one. I don?t think she has said this. I think it was a parody - all to believable given tone of actual govt comms. But totally my bad. I should have checked harder
  3. So we need 6 figure numbers of drivers to come here and help out So we will be grateful right? ?Home Secretary @pritipatel announces 3 month Visas for 5000 drivers & then sets up task force to deport EU lorry drivers who remain U.K. after 24th Dec-She said ?It is a special privilege for lorry drivers to be able come here & work & it shouldn?t be abused?🇬🇧🙈
  4. I see that today the govt are pivoting from ?eu has a shortage of truck drivers too!!? To ?But yeah we need some of their drivers so will allow them to come here. For a bit. Just for a bit mind. Don?t get comfortable? Remains to be seen if they will accept such a graceful invitation
  5. Well shoot. Why didn?t anyone tell me it was going to be this much fun!
  6. well, this isn't good https://www.theguardian.com/business/2021/sep/23/bp-rations-petrol-and-diesel-deliveries-to-its-service-stations
  7. I think I have been part of the conversation. Back on previous page. But yeah I have kind of left people too it as they seem happy to ignore the elephant in the room and operate on a parochial level. But you can?t big yourself up like you did and not expect some blowback, surely?
  8. BBC and co spend a lot of time interviewing and quoting Patrick Minford too. He also thinks he knows a lot. It just happens to be the opposite of what majority of his peers think
  9. I'm in agreement that Brexit has little to nothing to do with the cause it will have a lot to do with how we recover My point was more about the fact that there was a time when the government was looking ahead and planning - and decided to ignore any warning signs
  10. Let's have a look at how the government planned for this shall we? Back when Brexit had yet to happen, but was being factored into decisions (ha - remember those heady days!) Anyway - interesting thread here:
  11. at some point, the voters are going to have to hold this government responsible for all the bad decisions they make
  12. and we can call it a pint again after 40 years of the EU forcing us to call it 586ml
  13. This country is weird
  14. ?Students of my posts? Mother of god
  15. Same old same old Eu will fall apart rhetoric. Barnier has always been a right wing politician with his immigration line He was a negotiator on behalf of 27 Eu countries in Brexit. Why can?t you see the difference? There is no Damascene conversion There is no frexit (even le penn backed away from that notion) There is no Eu falling apart You are an anti-immigrant one note pony and that?s it. That?s all you got
  16. ? No more EU smoke and mirrors? Anyone know what this even means? More bizarre than his usual comments.
  17. It?s not hard for me to accept Because there aren?t any meaningful positives. Otherwise you would point to them instead of desperately spending weeks clinging to non-wins like vaccine rollout And you only have ropy characters on here in your corner And linking to an article where barnier is critical of EU doesn?t change that in any way whatsoever Try harder
  18. I left the house today I found a Quid!!! Benefit of leaving the house versus staying home innit! A dog bit me, I fell in the river and lost a tenner. Nothing to do with me leaving the house ?Jesus why focus on the negative - you people! ?
  19. Some scientists say climate change is real Some say it isn?t Hard to weight up the net reality isn?t it? 13 pages of people pointing out genuine, real, often life-altering problems of Brexit Catty saying ?there are positives too!!! ? and gives examples of things that don?t need Brexit and turned out to be not especially great anyway (waves at vaccine rollout) So yeah. Totally even stevens. It?s a close run thing etc.
  20. Just because you say something is desperate doesn?t make it so Smugly, provocatively grinning ?it?s not as bad as you thought? as people lose their jobs, inflation rises, supplies dry up, companies go under, Northern Ireland peace continues to look risky, exports tank and friends and neighbours get caught in a web of home office rules and punishment is not a good look If you genuinely believe it?s not going badly then you just aren?t a serious person
  21. The gall of people who for years told workers and people like me arguing for higher wages that we would break the economy now claiming it?s a good effect of Brexit The bare faced cheek of it Nothing was stopping a higher minimum wage or companies paying more - and certainly not being an Eu member

"It makes them feel cosy and community spirited. " imagine such horrors! far better to bitch and moan at anybody who dares to move to London - that's REAL community spirit
  24. I think we have had enough flag waving of any sort
  25. Some well dodgy camera angle decisions during play as well But frankly what a fantastic spectacle, match and result Watch it with my 10 year old and she could barely watch Two amazing young people with composure beyond their years. A privilege to behold
