  1. Just glanced out. Cricketers are there. Going to see what ball is in operation...
  2. There's loads room to get around them. I live opposite and watch from my window and I've only ever seen a tennis ball used, although didn't see what they were using yesterday but if it was a cricket ball then yes getting whacked by one them would hurt. I don't think they do use one though, or not when I have seen them. Will check next Sunday when they are back. I think it's great to see them using the common as a social sporting get together once a week. Currently 22 lads playing football there with a large circle of coloured cones marking their pitch. Cross with caution!
  3. Agree re cricket ball. The times I have seen them it's a tennis type ball they are using which doesn't really worry me. They may switch between balls or different groups use different balls. 4. Stirling fuckin Albion.
  5. I have a bit of history wi the Barry Barry Road Race. A event that needs a new energy, the lets meet thread in the what's on section, seems the natural way to keep the Barry Barry Road Race alive.. Somebody needs to step up. Bears are available...

  9. Pixie_Jem for this recent thread in the General section. This one could have legs: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,1310331
  10. Possibly. Have been offered tickets for the squash, boxing and 100m final (although that one has been offered around several folks!) If funds allow I may try to go to the squash but will see nearer the time. Would stay either near Stirling or Edinburgh - both for free!
  11. MrB, get yourself down and into Anetto Cafe (beside the Flying Pig) for the bacon sandwich. A rare treat that one. Something affoot in the Laundoramma as well, all change along that parade, all change...
  12. Oh come on Lee, whack you in the face. Are you sniffing the bat or something? I am an ex squash player and this smarts..but it's set up, I wouldn't walk across and say chaps, gonnae smack me in the face.. 13. Your dog is off the leash in the shaded area etc. Can't see how it makes any difference. Those that ignored the sign, keep your dog on leash will continue to ignore the helpful key and map provided. As a youngster I always fished below the sign that said I couldn't. Wouldn't fish in a Park...although have cast a fly in Dulwich Park. 15. I went fly fishing in Dulwich Park with Mr Ben.
  16. Wouldnt happen if that area was shaded out on a map of the park Mustard! Mustard Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Strewth, there is a dog off lead in the > 'ornamental' garden.
  17. Good luck with that bussey XI, sounds like a great project. Im a non cricketer but overlook the common and often watch the ad-hoc games of cricket that go on on a Sunday early evening. Those guys Im sure use a tennis ball, not a propper cricket ball which could cause serious damage if it went astray.
  18. If folks choose to ignore the signs wont they just choose to ignore the map with shaded areas?
  19. Maybe the-e-dealer will allow you to use his photies. A gallery of local beauty spots. TEDs sprung to mind but there are more Countryfile style images on the EDF.

  21. As an ex Pickfords removals porter, I recommend getting the kettle on when the removal men arrive. Furniture gets just a bit more TLC if there is steam coming from the kitchen on arrival. The offer of lunch guarantees the knicker drawer not getting rifled...
  22. Even the 100's are now out with my pocket around here... MrBen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > 1000.
  23. Its opposite Goose Green - where the temp Xmas tree seller has set up for the last couple of years, almost opposite the playpark.
