Not had a chance yet MM. Sat after next hopefully give it a whirl. Popped head in before they opened for a nose but it was still under construction. Hope they can make a go of it. The big shed out the back was getting cleared out. Can't fully remember what they were going to do with that space. The whole Halloween when ehs was a bairn was just that. Get ehs wee bitty dressed up, learn a poem, joke or trick, then go oot Guising. Dooking fir aipples then hit ra scratcher ken. In Scotland it's called Guising. Have to say a poem, joke for a small return of sweets, coppers or a satsuma. Is trick or treat not a USA thing? tallulah71 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Trick or treat is traditionally a celtic thing. > And one would normally have had to do a 'trick' to > get the treat...throwing eggs, or knocking on > doors just to grab sweets is boring and tedious > for everyone.

Penny sweets, plural? You've changed...not down with Trick or Treat, we called it Guising. Good luck new wave, once you break the hoodoo of it, as BB says its enjoyable and almost empowering. I used to hate it, now, happy to speak in front of 200 plus. I always go into anything qthinking, they can't do it, and if they had to, they want you to do well. Once the 1st ones over, I reckon folks will ask you how you do it. We are hard on ourselves, But Rabbie Burns cracked for me, if we can see ourselves as others sees us. We see ourselves as under confident, when in reality, you will smash it. Charlie MM? I spent a personable Saturday with him a couple of Saturdays ago - when the 6 x 6 had to be extended. Going to throw my head in on Saturday to see if the bars open, hopefully will be if you are there tomorra. He did say they hoped to have a soft launch all being well this week. Good luck to them. Fair point SJ. I'd consider The Montpellier on Choumert, SE15. Great pub, won't be too busy and has nice seating in corners to write, watch and 6 x 6. Also you can sit on the other side of the bar, out the way and still look on without being jostled, disturbed. In fact I've just popped in, and if I was a writer, chapter 1 would start here.

When Im on the 6 x 6 method I aim to have my last pint ordered for 5.10.
-
I have a favourite perch in The Bishop for that time-frame on Saturdays. Trialing a 6 x 6 method as I advance in years. 6 pints by 6pm. System works well (well once), but has flexibilty to push out to 7 x 7 and 8 x 8 , after which my sunday is ruined anyway! *ETA: The 6 x 6 method is intended to have me back home by 6pm.

Don't think so. They were a present and bought via Amazon apparently. My upstairs are not too loud but these just stop me getting fixated with their footsteps/tv while I drift off.
