  1. I tried earplugs but found them uncomfortable to sleep with, then I discovered sleep-phones. Listen to my portable digital radio in bed, and just drift of to sleep. http://www.sleepphones.com/
  2. Right eye open to a left here maybe.
  3. High tempo first round. Felt that body shot from my sofa!
  4. Thanks KK, just flicked over.
  5. 6. Measured and great post by GG. I have been there and its tough if you cant build a relationship. Small steps sometimes can help. Sounds this is beyond this though. Threats are unacceptable in this context imo.
  7. Guys in suits on way to work, one shoelace undone and its soaking wet as they walk through another puddle.
  8. Anybody want a game of squash on a Saturday morning? Not the next 2 but any after that. Dulwich hamlets is good value. Heard its 40dollars in aus!
  9. Dodgers
  10. That's not too bad for pay as you go, no membership fee, just book turn up and play. Fiver each a week (if you only play once a week) for 40 mins run about. Price of a pint almost. If you play more regularly probably worth joining and it's cheaper (free possibly) for the lights. Dulwich Squash Club has a joining fee and you still pay for the lights at times when you can actually play. 11. Aquarius Moon You are right, this thread is about a cinema so back on topic. I have never been. Just doesn't look very welcoming.
  12. Aq Moon What you posted on the Ivy House thread wouldn't exactly inspire me to go! aquarius moon Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > You slag it off on here, everyone jumps on the > bandwagon, and before you know it, a bad > reputation will stop people from going at all. > > Next thing, there will be talk of it closing down > & a 'save Peckham Multiplex' campaign because it > is the only cinema in the area and would be > greatly missed. > > I very rarely go to the pictures nowadays, but if > I did, I would go there, not only to support a > local business, but due to the convenience. > > I have good memories of taking my children there > when they were younger, as a special treat on > birthdays etc. Tickets were only ?3.99 on Tuesdays > & if you got there early enough, you could have > the pick of the best seats! > > People should think of the consequences before > posting such negative comments. 13. Just glanced at my watch involuntarily there.
  14. Good post. I was in the Bar last night and know what you are talking about. I had been keeping an eye to see if anything was posted by the "gents" in question to give a bit of balance to how they were behaving and you not serving them.
  15. Just in from The Hebridies Bar in Edinburgh.Love that pub.A bit rough round the edges, but a great wee boozer aw the same.

  17. On my daily stroll along Peckham Rye toward the station i have been watching a shop transform with the workers uncovering old tiles and orginal features. Its a unit near The white Horse and Rye Hotel end. I stopped and asked my usual questions last week regarding pubs. Nope a hairdressers. Opened last night by the look of it. It sits between the more tradtional barbers and hairdressers along that strecth. Its called Blue Tit: http://www.bluetitlondon.com/ A pincher movement of hip along Rye Lane perhaps... ETA: Spelling and pincer
  18. Jeremy posted this link on another thread i think: Not been recently, and last time was bounced down the stairs. Dodgy ?20 apparently! ETA: Link hopefully works: http://www.mintmagazine.co.uk/general/beer-and-loathing-jfks-aka-canavans-pool-club-peckham/ Girl82 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Canavans is a hipster hangout? 19. SJ Just as Peckham is the new *insert name here* , 101 is the new 100. You my friend, are ahead of the curve! StraferJack Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > 101 - dang it, just missed it
  20. Going to be a new independant coffee shop opening beside the Station (next door to new cycle hub) opposite the Jerk Chicken place. Aked this morning if it was going to be a bar to be greeted with, "Naw you'll no get a wee dram in here laddie!" in a very poor Scottish impersonation.
  21. Designer Kimono's soon to be avaialble at the back of Threads. http://vintagethreadspeckham.wordpress.com/
  22. I play once a week at Dulwich Hamlets (thursday evenings) keen to get a regualr hit on a Sat morning as well to make me more deserving of a pint in the afo. Would that be any good? Used to be a fairly decent player, put racket down for several years and picked it up again recently.

  24. Agree buggie, we had table booked at 8, left shortly after. There was no way the manager was going to dampen those boys spirits and we were sat right beside them. Manager was dead on about us leaving and gave me my pint on the house. One couple were moved to the back just before we left. Franklins slotted us in and had a good night there. Hope you managed to enjoy your birthday as best you could Buggie. As I say, just one of those things and unusual. Back on topic: The steaks and other meat I have had in Palmerston are good, maybe they get them from The Butcher by The Plough...
  25. Saturday just past. No dramas, just wasnt very relaxing and im no shrinking wall flower with bad language etc, but this was getting over the top. Spoke to manager he was helpful in the situation but not much he could do really. If they dug their heels in I wouldnt like to have got involved! ETA: Palmerston is great, one of my faves for a pint or dinner. Very unusal on Saturday night and absolutely not the norm. In fact first time in 9 or so years so dont be put of going readers if you haveent been. Just unlucky that night and one of these things.
