Thank you, thank you, thank you. Finally found something that works for my daughter - that Aveeno stuff worked almost immediately and I can't believe how much better her wrist is after just one week! Even the dairy-free diet that she is temporarily on, hasn't helped the really bad eczema areas.
  2. We always give ours ?35 whether we come home at 10pm or midnight. A evening is an evening, afterall.
  3. Sue Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Sorry damzel, I misunderstood :-$ Apologies if my post sounded grumpy, it wasn't supposed to!
  4. I know the green and blue are fortnightly (alternate weeks), that's why I was expecting the blue one to be emptied with the brown today because the green and brown were emptied last week.
  5. We only had the brown bin emptied today (last week we had a successful brown and green collection). My blue bin won't last another week (I'm amazed how full it's got!)
  6. I'm not sure why people aren't getting responses to their requests, I received a query regarding my online form (submitted on Tuesday evening) last night by email at 3:42am and a further response to my reply at 10am today (Sunday). They seem to be working outside of normal hours. If you haven't received responses to your telephone or email requests, perhaps you should try the form (don't select any of the email addresses on the page, select "Save and Continue" at the bottom to get the form on page 2) https://www.southwark.gov.uk/forms/form/61/recycling-container_request
  7. That weekend is good for me. Is this open for dads too or is it a mums thing?
  8. Mine is scared of the cat but loves Gina the Giraffe and her hand clapping games are addictive (to mum and dad)
  9. That sounds like fun. Count us in if you do it on a Thursday or at the weekend
  10. Just for the record, we're on landells road and had both green and brown collected on Tuesday
  11. Yes, my daughter is the same - I always have one less layer on her than I put on myself and night-times are a sweat fest. I have to say, I've worried a bit about it from time to time so happy to see from this thread that it's not uncommon.
  12. I wish they'd listed what you CAN'T recycle. They only mentioned cling film and crisp packets
  13. Do we put snotty tissues in the compost bin?
  14. Acupuncture can't do anything about the quality of eggs but it can help enormously in making the womb good and ready for any successes thereby reducing the chances of miscarriage. It's also amazing for stress relief which is obviously very important when trying to conceive and it leaves you calm, energised and positive. Like you, I didn't feel IVF was a route I wanted to take and if it was meant to be, then it would happen. I had my first baby at 42 and conceived after just a few acupuncture sessions. I'll never know if the 2 things were related but I found the whole experience so beneficial that I like to think it did. Good luck x
  15. I opened this post with excitement as I thought I was about to find a dairy free alternative to babybel which my newly dairy-free kid (who loves cheese) is missing. What about dried fruit for non messy snacks on the go? My daughter loves them. I think they are protein rich but I am not an expert on such things. Bananas are though. Edited to apologise as I didn't register that you were asking for a 9m old. My daughter is 3.5 and I can't remember the food rules for pre-1 (amazing how quickly you forget).

Edited to add: I just found this on Soutwark site which answers the question "Can I put shredded paper and cardboard in my brown bin? The best way to recycle paper and cardboard is by using your blue bin. But, if it has been spoiled by food or liquids or you have a large quantity of shredded paper it can be placed in your brown bin because it's also compostable. Please don't use your brown bin to recycle glossy paper; this should go into your blue box. "
  17. Scuppered. I was following this thread as was very interested to hear the answers (thanks for asking the questions). Would you be able to summarise the info you've been PM'd?

  19. Thanks everyone, that's exactly the type of info I was looking for.
  20. Are there any pros and cons for a 3 year old to go to a nursery connected with a school compared with an independent nursery such as Gumboots/Bright Horizons etc.? (I'm not sure if "independents" is the right term but couldn't think of anything else). I'm wondering if the educational aspect might be a bit more focused on in the school nurseries compared with independents and if so, whether this is a good thing or not.
  21. What do you use for a bin now?
  22. Yes, you can refuse the blue bin and get an extra box instead. I understand that if your garden/space looks too small for an additional bin, they will give you an extra box automatically instead. I'm really pleased it's coming our way actually and even more so as I found out we can put the food waste in the big brown bin so we don't need the additional small brown one.
  23. Well I picked up a couple of skirts, a dress and a 2 polo shirts (they only had 2 left for a 3yr old so will have to find some elsewhere) but I can't help feeling a little sad that she has to wear a uniform 5 days a week already. I can't even just put it on for the 3 hrs she's there really as she is with the CM for the morning. Which I've suddenly realised means even more spare clothes are going to be needed.. oh dear My partner thinks it's great as he loved wearing a school uniform, he said it made him feel he "belonged". I always hated mine. I know it's silly but it was such a shock that she'd have to wear one so young. Does anyone else feel like this?
  24. Hi! my daughter was the one who kept going to the loo, was yours the boy playing with all the Thomas the tank engines that I was talking to? Sainsburys - didn't think of them, bit nearer so will go there tomorrow, thanks! Ahh they're all growing up.. best of luck to all the little-uns x
  25. Just found out that my daughter needs to wear Heber uniform when she starts at their nursery on Tuesday. I had no idea! I can get the logo sweatshirt from the school (although they don't have any stock in her size currently) but the rest can be generic - grey skirts, grey dresses, white polo shirt. 5 afternoons a week - can anyone suggest how many I should get, how much messy play I wonder? And where's the best place to go tomorrow - Tescos? Didn't think to ask about shoes - surely they can't be particularly fussy about colour at nursery (although her light-flashing american Sketchers probably wouldn't be appropriate..) her Clarks are red. Thanks as always
