  2. It woke me a couple of mornings ago but in the cold light of the day, I thought I must've dreamt it! I quite fancy the idea of keeping chickens but keeping a cockerel in a built up area is a bit anti-social
  3. I'm a little further away at se22 *** and use Pipex broadband without issue. I think there are less connections per pipe too as year on year I have been able to get to the Glastonbury ticket sales page relatively easily whereas my mates using the more popular ISPs haven't. I just did a speed check here http://www.mybroadbandspeed.co.uk/ and got: Date: Download Speed: Upload Speed: Today 16:12. 4079 kbps (510kB/s). 381 kbps (47.6kB/s). I've no idea if that's good or not..?
  4. Last week a guy knocked on my door and told me he and his colleagues were fitting flooring in the flats above those shops and was I interested in any because they reckoned they'd have a lot left over. Sounds dodgy?? Having just laid a new floor I politely declined...
  5. We live on Landells Road near Lordship Lane junction (which is not too far from Barry Road) and the guy that installed our dish bravely climbed up onto the roof and installed it on the chimney pot because he said that reception was known to be poor in the area. I don't think he was legally allowed to go up there on a ladder (2 story house) but I'm grateful he did as we haven't experienced any problems.
  6. Well I know that when I'm on a road with bumps, a lot of my concentration and vision is focused on where the next bump is rather than on the road ahead and any unexpected hazzards - pets/kids/footballs etc. which might peek out from between parked cars. I realise that a lot of drivers don't consider unexpected hazzards but I believe there are better ways to slow down traffic than speed bumps. I heard that the guy who invented speed bumps now wishes he hadn't. Possibly an urban myth however!
  7. I HATE speedbumps! I'm 7 months pregnant and they HURT. I avoid them where possible although that is virtually impossible in ED! Ban them I say! And if they put them down Landells Road, I'm moving. Phew, I feel better for that rant, thanks.
  8. We ordered a delivery from the bombay bicyle but the guy on the phone struggled to understand my (english) accent and I struggled to understand him too. The free bottle of wine which I requested to be red, yes red, no no no red not white (and then he called me back to check which colour i wanted - RED!) turned up and it was white. The food was nice but unexceptional considering the cost. I was disappointed as I have used them before in Battersea and it was mmmmmmm BUT... it was day 3 after they opened so maybe they'll sort themselves out a bit. I'd try them again. I miss the old curry house that was there - Mohammad used to tell me ghost stories as I waited for my takeaway.
  9. I've been thinking about the ballroom thing for a while now but haven't managed to get down there yet. They call it Slightly Ballroom and it's on Tuesday evenings. I would be interested to hear people opinions - is there young people there or is it generally for the more mature punter? www.slightlyballroom.co.uk

Well this picture of Mr Damzel at Glasto 2005 might help you recognise us if we come down to the quiz...

But how will we know you and how will you know us? it's all rather mysterious on here (and maybe I like it that way). for all you know I might be the old black lady who's always in there, talking randomonly at all and sundry (but mostly to herself). I saw your quiz thread and was mulling it over but being absolutely terrible at them, it's not that tempting to me. Mr Damzel (love it!) however would save the day if there were lots of music questions and sums (sounds fascinating doesn't he). But to drag us back on topic, if you guys are going to Glasto then I think perhaps we could come and say hello... is there a code word we should mention loudly as we're lurking around the place?

urm, well yes but probably not as frequently as your good self ;-) Me and my bloke haven't been in the area long so you wouldn't recognise us as regulars (yet)

Ours haven't arrived yet. Traced them on seetickets and they haven't been despatched yet. hey *bob* what do you mean the CPT have a tent there?
  15. Does anyone know what's going on with the 2 big shops which are covered in scaffolding on LL betw Landells and CP Road?
  16. Hi - sorry, work commitments mean I can't make it after all. Will keep my eye on the thread tho and look forward to an update tomorrow.
  17. hello - i'm new here too - just moved into landells road and currently living in our very own building site, although not as exciting as this project obviously! looking forward to seeing the program and would love to be included in the tour.
