I wasn't Brian :)). ) :)) I know its only a bit of fun Sue, obviously I *am* Brian, not sure I can talk about Shakespeare at length tho ;-) to prove it here's my FG quiz result: "You are Brian Griffin! Intelligent, well spoken, and...a dog. Literally. Your humor is somewhat dry at times but then again so are your martini's. Your half dog/half human characteristics make you infinitely interesting. Who else do you know who can talk about Shakespeare yet also lick his own b ..."

    Iain Banks

He used to be my favourite author, I've read every one of his books. Don't think I could read his sci-Fi culture novels now as I've gone off that genre but I'll certainly revisit the others. Very saddened to hear this news about his illness. He's a great writer.
  6. Classic Edf gold. Well done all esp Louisa.
  7. I long to hear the sound of the ocarina playing. I had this for my game boy. Those were the days. D&D, on the other hand, just reminds me of my nightmare Christian Death loving ex. And those bloody pointy dice.
  8. What Voyageur said. Or Thailand Turkey.
  9. Charlton. Give it a decade or so.
  10. cheer up fox, I'm sure there'll be a designer wellie shop opening soon on Bellenden Rd.
  11. Talking of facelifts, forget Bellenden Road, just wait till you see the refurbished Clock House. Looks like they are doing an excellent job sprucing the place up *understatement*. Opens next week I believe. Doubt very much there'll be misty-eyed nostalgia for 'how it used to be' on here. But you never know.
  12. the agent sounds really incompetent & dishonest - I'd be fuming about this. its really shoddy that furniture that wasn't supposed to be there was and vice versa. definitely complain directly to the owner if the agent isn't forthcoming with a solution that suits you. its your home now, you have to live in it and you're paying for it. no sofa is better than a shitty sofa that takes up space. stick it to them!

Keen observation woody, can see where they got their inspiration from http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/shopping/store_profiles/brook-farm-general-store-104458 Indeed s'about time someone opened an old-fashioned country style store in the city.
  14. why does every new business with obligatory twitter/instagram/facebook account never seem to publish their prices? harrumph. good luck to em anyway!

    What car?

Skoda. Octavia or Fabia. Not cool in any way but reliable, economical, ok for city driving, you can pick up a new one for around 10k-ish, depending on model.
  16. Peckham was featured as THE place to live in the Telegraph's weekend magazine, to be honest, it looked more like they were just focussing on the Bellenden Road area.
  17. Friend's baby puked on my trousers when we were having coffee so I hastily popped into Primark to pick up cheap leggings to wear on way home. Said our goodbyes, walked to Peckham Rye station, encountering funny looks along the way I might add but thought no more of it. Boarded train then a few minutes later, a woman walks through empty carriage to where I'm sitting and sidles up to me. I thought 'oh here we go, she's going to ask for money'... so prepared myself for a sob story. "I spotted you from further up the platform, saw you boarding this carriage", she said. "Thought you should know your leggings are so see-thru that I could make out the pattern on your knickers". Thank you, kind stranger.
  18. crinkle cut are my favourite. My mum used to make them from scratch using a fabulous hand-held crinkle cutter thingy. It had a red handle. Feel quite nostalgic just thinking about it. Chips were a rare treat but we only got crinkle-cut if we'd been really good. Or on those rare occasions whenever she could find the damn thing jostling for top position in the cutlery drawer.
  19. I remember that place too, it was on Denman street and they had a really giant old-fashioned till on the counter which was still in use. You'd often spot really famous people there, not that I went for that reason. The Regency cafe is another proper cafe, hopefully its still there, its Victoria/Pimlico way.
