  1. Thanks EDM. I'm still unsure though, this is one of the articles that I found; http://www.carsguide.com.au/site/news-and-reviews/story/volvo_urges_child_safety_seat_re_think My feeling is that some imported cars have isofix points, but not cars made in Australia for the local market?
  2. Hi, I'm doing the research on baby car seats, and have found the 'which' reviews to be really useful. The isofix systems seem to be the safest, and our car has isofix points, but does anyone know if the isofix system is used/standard in Australia? The seat may get some use out there, and after much googling I still don't know whether Aussie cars have isofix points. If Australian cars aren't isofix compatible I'll just go for the 3 point seat belt option. If anyone has any ideas on this I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks. Skip.
  3. Some/maybe all (?) homes in Court Lane are part of the Dulwich Estate as leasehold properties. Personally wouldn't want to have a leasehold if paying that much for a property. Not sure if this is the case with Woodwarde or not. Worth looking into though.
  4. Court Lane has a lot of through traffic, and speed humps, and sunny days at the park would mean on street parking is full; but you may get a driveway in Court Lane so may not matter. Woodwarde is a lovely street, would be quiter, but depends if you think the postcode matters, and if you've got children whether there are any school catchment boundaries to consider?
  5. had lunch there, really good salad, yummy bread with proper butter, great coffee (hard to find a better one round here I think) and a lovely atmosphere. Good loos as well, which is always a good sign I reckon. I hope that they are a success, as I think they've hit on something unique. Thought the prices were reasonable too.
  6. After contesting a fine with numerous letters without success I informed the local councillors and MP of the situation and the fine was instantly put on hold, never to be heard of again. If you're in the right I would recommend this course of action if necessary.
  7. about an hour

  9. Thanks everyone for your tips. Now have driving down to an hour, but have to get an early start for that. Best so far is; "Go to camberwell green. get the 436 to paddington then the Heathrow express. It's the quickest. I've been in the terminal in just over an hour." Shall try this, sounds worth a try. Thanks. :))
  10. central east dulwich. I'm a 2 min walk from LSL buses, and 5 min walk to ED station. Thanks.
  11. Hi, Anyone have a great way to get to Heathrow (actually not the airport, but very close vicinity) during peak hours, either by car or train/bus? The SATNAV route is taking 2.5 hrs in the mornings; which is far too long! Thanks, Skip.
  12. I agree with Jimmy, gates always open, car park always full, reception staff don't mind if you just walk in. As a paid up member who often can't find my membership card, it has never been a problem, even accessing the ladies change rooms, which used to require swiping your card seems to be no longer required.
  13. Couldn't find timetable on tfl, not sure how up to date this link is, but best timetable I could find. http://www.lordshiplane.co.uk/trans/train/timetab.asp
  14. Does anyone have the timetable for the trains from ED station, or an internet link to the timetable. I never catch the train as an infrequent user, you can't just turn up and wait, as often the wait is too long. However if I had the timetable at home I may use it more often. Skip.
  15. If your user name is any guide I think you'll like the coffee at Green and Blue, Nero if you're desperate for an early morning chain coffee, and Jacks; a little out of the way, but used to have the best coffee in ED. Skip.:)
  16. you say you've been caught out due to being stuck in traffic? Does this mean you pay a penalty charge? Can I take it across to Europe on a ferry for a weekend break or holiday? If I wanted it for a weekend, non bank holiday, how far ahead do you suggest to book? A month in advance? How much do you spend a year on it, for occasional use? Any answers to these would be good. thanks everyone for your comments. skip.:)
  17. How are people finding using street car. Thinking of signing up. Skip.
  18. Not sure if G&B read your post before I sat in the same spot last night; but I can't tell you how impressed we were with the attentive service from their lovely waiter. Great wine, food, atmosphere, and excellent service. Now my favourite spot in ED; as Liquorish has lost its edge. (Although G&B please get your chair re-upholstered; not a good look for a business like yours). Skip.
  19. Guy next to post office, at rear of drycleaners has always fixed our shoes. Very pleasant man, prices cheaper than the shop towards the station, and not a shoe snob; happy to fix whatever you need fixed. Skip.
  20. Loved living there; very green and quiet, and the proximity to Peckham Rye parkland is great. Close to the number 12 bus, and easy to get to Peckham Rye station from here. We considered the Clockhouse our local, and there was a creat mini supermarket on Barry Road that we missed when we left. If you're renting from the landlord who owns lots of properties around there, beware; they stung us for carpet cleaning costs; despite the fact that they weren't clean when we moved in. If I had my time again I'd take photographs of the condition of the flat when moving in. A lovely part of East Dulwich. Enjoy.
  21. The garden centre in West Dulwich has a few options for this - a gel, and pelletts I think. Haven't used them but may be worth a look?
