Should some posters get a room at a travel lodge ?
Spartacus replied to Spartacus's topic in Roads & Transport
As its Christmas @malumbu, I've booked and paid for rooms at St.Albans. its in my name Sandy Klaws. Its a bit of a drive (or cycle) but its lovely. Just tell them I've sent you and give them you EDF name when you get there and all will be sorted. Happy Christmas all. -
Quote "it was quite clear that it wanted to nip me." Doesn't say clearly that it tried to bite you , but instead implies that you had the impression, right or wrong that it wanted to nip you. unless you are clear others will read it how you write it. As for being a jobsworth, what a quaint old expression, haven't heard that for a long while.

Let me get this right Shady fox follows two people at close quarters, doesn't bite anyone and the threads called "Bitey Fox" Hmmmmm🤔

Loving the speculation Could have been anything from a mini to a hummer Maybe it was a Lamborghini, gone in 60 seconds 😅 -
Tongue in cheek, but the backwards and forwards banter on some posts here makes me wonder if the posters should just get a room 😂
-
So in future you too will only post a reference, link or video.only once and never mention it again ? Okay got it 🤐

They could, potentially, move it to peckham rye park, fence off the grassland and call it Christmas Gala with stages for the Christmas cover bands, charge admission and ...

I personally, just lost respect as this is not the time to.disrupt hospitals and put additional strain on stretched resources. BBC News - Doctors vote to go ahead with this week's five-day strike https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c246dnyjylqo
-
It does indeed, but it doesn't show changes over the past 12 months, which is what the big increase in cycling that this thread is based on. Therefore it wouks be great to see the same comparative figures for the past 12 and 24 months, not just prior to 2023.

Thanks Mal Useful report from a year ago but as the recent figures from TFL pointed to a big rise in cycling over the past year and there is also a separate report of slower buses with fewer passengers, then it would be good to see comparative figures for all modes of transport including walking for the same period.

Beglfire I start, I have a lot of respect for Doctors and owe my life to them after various mishaps over the years. I am however getting a jaded view of them continuing to run the strike ballot next week in the middle of what is turning into a bad winter for the NHS. Of course they may vote to not strike, but personally feel it is irresponsible timing to consider it as hospitals are already struggling. Today the BMA warned of scaremongering over the current flu outbreak (BBC News - BMA warns of flu 'scaremongering' ahead of doctor strikes - BBC News https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c5y22yzl6y6o) but just seeing how many people I know are going down with it, that feels like poor spin by the BMA. How do others feel ?

Would be interesting to see comparative figures for 1. UnAssisted Cycling 2. Power Assisted Cycling /electric bikes 3. Walking 4. Bus usage 5. Tube usage 6. Driving (car and motorbike) 7. Taxi To see if increases in Cycling have changed other modes of transport and where reductions have occurred (if any)

Blimey Didn't realise last night's party was being recorded 🫣

North Cross Road has had them up for a while too

The moon as its made of cheese 🧀

It is also a video shot in the day, not at night, and as we know, night time or dusk is when bright clothing could make a difference to the cyclists visibility. 🫣

@Rockets do not be seduced by the dark side, I feel a great disturbance in the force with this one
-
Maybe the explosion of lime and forest bikes has had an impact on cycling numbers over the past year 🤔

Do you think Donald has managed to get the gold foil off yet and eat the chocolate inside?

11 pages says they are

Only if it doesn't impact other forms of public transport, if buses are slower and with the now more common shorter route forcing passengers to change to get to their destination (thus incurring additional waiting time) some may just give up and drive everywhere thus defeating the drive to have fewer car journeys As ibsaid earlier, thete is a balance to be achieved.

Black is obviously the new fluorescent (bless, you lot argue about s41t at times) Fine Earl, Mal and March, if you want to not use lights or wear reflective clothing then don't be surprised if a driver or pedestrian doesn't see you on a dark, foul and rainy night. Personally I would make myself as visible as I could on the road, regardless of lighting conditions. As simple as.
