Oh dear the Meldrews, your street appears to be a favourite haunt of a Location Scout or two. If you identify who that is (from a member of the crew) you might be able to vent your frustrations and suggest they look somewhere else as you find it too disruptive. Not that it'll make much difference but you'll at least let them know it's unpopular.

I see that the tree at the Village crossroads (opposite the schools) has been taken down by tree surgeons this morning. Was it diseased/unstable - and, seeing as its days before Remembrance Sunday, what of the memorial to the young Welsh Guard, Mark Evison? https://www.londonremembers.com/memorials/mark-evison Are there plans to reinstate the memorial and perhaps plant another tree?

Our shakes come from lorries (skip lorries mostly the culprits) banging over the speed hump near our house on Ruskin Park. The vibrations travel along the walls and wobble my screen.

Oh dear, when the thread about the site occupation started I feared there would soon be a post about the loss of connection via that exchange - and my fears have been realised. Honestly? As Tractorlad posted, do yourself a favour and stick to BT as Virgin are wholly unreliable. And who knows, perhaps BT might allow you more 4G allowance while the issue continues to wreck service? Always worth a call.

Aside from whether it's suspicious or not - I'm staggered that someone can leave their car that's worth such money is just parked up, depreciating by the hour. It really makes no economic sense. Mind you, the way some drive around here, I wouldn't dare take it out down LL.

I'd be more concerned of combustible cladding than cheap veneer.

Sorry to hear that there has been a motorist threatening others. Tempers were also high in the heat yesterday - exacerbated by the tail-backs caused by the lane closure in EDG near the station. The pollution was horrible too.

They do change runway directions mid-afternoon which may have something to do with it.

Nothing new. It's been 15+ years since we did the school run on bikes but the level of rubbish driving and discourtesy was bad even then. We would pedal down Ruskin Walk where the little darlings would be dropped off at the nearby nursery and doors would be routinely flung open as we passed-by. We made light of the journey, calling the mums deserving members of the DDC (Dulwich Door Club) but we always reached school in one piece and with smiles on our faces - whereas the mums always looked exhausted and angry. I often wonder how it turned out for them.

Given the miles of new pavements around Lambeth and Southwark, I imagine the head and/or investors of the contractors has been making a mint these last few years.

An easy way to source its author is to take a sharp close-up picture with your phone, import it on to your desktop and drag it into a Google Image search window. If it appears anywhere on the net (eg. on the artists's site), it'll show up. Good luck.

I also remember Ruskin's own albino though it was more recent than 20 years ago - more like 10+. I recall seeing many the local dogs (more than usual) being intoxicated by it - chasing it up trees etc.
