  1. It seems to be popular in the US but we don't, as yet, buy into it over here. A friend of a friend is over here from the US, the dog got to fly inside the cabin on the way over and then was allowed to take it into a restaurant last night. Whilst I appreciate that dogs do offer emotional support I'm not sure on whether I think they should be allowed into eateries and particularly on planes disregarding others feelings because of their personal needs.
  2. Emotional support dogs don't need to be specially trained so they are basically your common or garden hound. I was just reading a forum where quite a few people have had to endure having their allergies set off on planes and enclosed spaces by these so called emotional support dogs.
  3. ARE EMOTIONAL SUPPORT DOGS RECOGNISED AS ASSISTANCE DOGS? No, emotional support dogs are not required to undergo any specialised training and are not recognised in any region of the world as being assistance dogs. The worldwide body representing assistance dog programmes, Assistance Dogs International, does not classify emotional support dogs as assistance dogs. As a result, the owners of emotional support dogs are not entitled to claim their dogs have public access rights in the UK under the grounds of ?reasonable adjustments? that apply to assistance dogs. This includes airline travel. Taken from Assistance Dog UK website.
  4. I'm curious to know what people think about the use of emotional support dogs. It appears that they can be taken on planes (inside the cabins) and into restaurants. There doesn't appear to be any hard and fast rules from the government regarding this. So, are you happy to share your space with dogs in these situations?
  5. You poor girl. Both my grandmother and mother have been through this before the age of 40 and I've always had the threat hanging over me, I'm 7 years past their time now so hoping I've got away with it. There was a threat a few years back but turned out to be polyps which were dealt with quickly and easily. I really feel for you and would happily meet you if you need someone to share with. Fingers crossed that it'll be nowt too much to worry about. xxxxxxx
  6. What do you eat on Christmas eve? I want to cook something light before the onslaught of rich food tomorrow.
  7. I've just taken delivery of my son back from Vietnam. Now I'm ready!
  8. Having an early lunch with a friend and time ticked on whilst we gassed our heads off and before I knew it it was after 3pm, fueled only by a pot of tea would you believe. I was actually quite gutted to have missed it.
  9. That's fair comment, so she obviously doesn't pay for accommodation right? I still am shocked (and I've been on both sides of the fence) how little people pay for their au pairs.
  10. I just don't understand how you can pay someone who looks after your children ?4.00 per hour. I'm not digging you out but looking after someone's children is hard work and yet they're paid less than a cleaner.
  11. I'm really enjoying it :-)
  12. How lovely, it was such a romantic view of the changing times. What would the presenter think today I wonder.
  13. Henlow Grange was an amazing place but haven't been for an age. http://www.champneys.com/spa-resorts/champneys-henlow
  14. Beckenham beat Penge's violent crimes 80 to 30 in August. I'm not sure if the nylon curtain crimes come under that bracket, I think they need a section of their own.
  15. Just don't wander into Beckenham is all I say.
  16. Penge is where the good drugs are at. The last time I got stabbed to death there they gave me some free drugs! True story.
  17. I can't fathom what you're on about Parkdrive, I'm supporting your view with some stats, whatever makes you believe I have a personal vendetta?
  18. Not good drug use like ED I'm afraid Rahrahrah. ;-)
  19. And some supporting evidence to show that Parkdrive knows whats what. http://www.ukcrimestats.com/Constituency/65725 http://www.ukcrimestats.com/Neighbourhood/Metropolitan_Police_Service/Penge_and_Cator
  20. I'm sure you do Parkdrive, more than those that live there. I'm so on your side.
  21. Listen up people, Parkdrive has made his case again and again. He doesn't live there but people he knows do and it isn't friendly although it seems some of you that live there think it is. How come you lot don't get knifed and attacked but Parkdrive does? I agree with him, it doesn't seem friendly or nice at all.
