I am almost 100% sure my bill will be halved when I have to get a meter installed I am still very much against getting one! I am certainly not looking forward to the yearly increases, just like the forthcoming gas & electric prices that?ll screw many people over, the same will happen with water meters! We are doomed!

There?s no doubt what zouma has done is wrong. Personally I think the whole thing has blown completely out of proportion! (I have refused to watch the clip so have no idea of exactly what took place) I strongly believe this whole story & how it?s has been dealt with has undertones of racism. People are prepared to hang him literally for his foolish behaviour. Of course it?s wrong what he has done, he?s had a huge fine which I?m sure nobody has ever been given for this type of behaviour, he?s lost sponsorship deals amongst other things! I?d love to see how things would?ve turned out had he not been a black man! Yes he screwed up big time but he doesn?t need to pay with his life! I have also read an article saying his brother has been suspended by Dagenham & Redbridge for filming the video.

My phone doesn?t always work for links that I?ve been sent by this surgery & it?s sad that if you don?t have the up to date equipment you?ll be waiting forever! Another thing I wanted to share, I had a call from this surgery today which showed up as spam. I never answer spam calls but for some reason I did today???? & yes it was the surgery! I informed them it came up as a spam call & the person on the other side said they?ll look into it/report it. I?m not convinced anything will be done about it but thought I?d post so others can be aware.

Today the lady pushing her pram over Chadwick Road...
sweetgirl replied to SpringTime's topic in The Lounge
Sadly, as someone who drives for a living, it seems pedestrians have become complacent when it comes to road sense! To me it seems many people value their phones/headphones etc more than their lives or their childrens. Especially in the afternoons I see parents crossing major roads with their children yards away from proper crossing places, it makes me sad & sometimes I feel like I want to say something. If this is how children are taught to cross the road from a young age how can you expect better from them when they get older! I also see buggies getting pushed out into the roads even before the person pushing it has had a look! All these new Highway Code rulings are not helping anybody, first & foremost an individual has to take responsibility for their actions, wether they are a cyclist, pedestrian, driver or whomever! The deliveroo/Uber eats/ or any other cyclists of that nature are one of the most dangerous out there. It?s common sense to have a basic knowledge of road sense when using roads especially in a city like London! Even more so having a roadworthy bike is paramount! Such sad times??? -

Can someone advise...... My direct debit was dropped from ?140 a month to ?59 a month, sometime last year. This month i got a bill for ?425 & my direct debit shot up to ?282 a month. I paid the ?425 as i dont like debit balances & am in a position to clear it. Once cleared i called up edf & told them i had paid it & asked them to put my DD back to ?140 monthly & NOT TO CHANGE IT ANYTIME! I also followed this up via email explained to them they should leave as it is as any future debits i incur because of them reducing my DD, I WILL REFUSE TO PAY & THEY WILL HAVE TO TAKE ME TO COURT TO GET THAT MONEY BACK FROM ME! Now this morning I woke up to a letter from edf stating they are reducing my DD to ?63 to reflect my new account balance which is zero. This letter comes after the acknowledgement of my email to them earlier this week! I'm actually furious as it seems like they are forcing me to have a debit balance which i don't want to have! I really haven't got the time or patience to go to court, i would rather avoid that at any cost. Can anybody give me a construction opinion on this as i can't see any other avenues to go down? TIA

South Circular closed just after the Grove
sweetgirl replied to ruffers's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
These threads can get abit personal at times?? Every now & again I take a peak but can?t be asked comment 🤨 London is a city for gods sake??. You will never get country roads/lanes down here! All these LTN?s are helping nobody other than the councils/government fill their pockets! If you mistakenly think for a second the government care about you, then I suggest you think again! LTN supporters can support them all day long, all these past, present & future charges they are talking about are affecting the consumer?? the bottom line is everything is about clawing money from us for whatever they wish to use it for, we will always be worse off no matter how climate friendly you are! Yes I know my post isn?t about the south circular, I?m sorry, but I just wanted to say something Btw, I?m a driver & drive for a living but do not own a car simply because I don?t need one. -

Young people > are probably less equipped to deal with it. Regardless of age, if you are minding your own business no one has the right to bother you! I?m sure the persons in question would not walk around Peckham or camberwell harassing people! My motto is to respect those who respect me, if someone disrespects me then I have every right to disrespect them back if I choose to! (Regardless of their age) I am also aware some people have mental health issues?? Whilst out shopping in Peckham one day, many years ago, an old lady pulled my hair! All sorts of obscenities were about to leave my mouth but when I looked at her I realised she may have had mental health issues??. On that note I just walked away. -
