Yes. I am sure if I put one up just like that it would be taken way immediately if someone complained. How about those people who do not want their street cluttered with street furniture. I think they are a good idea but if 2/3/4/5 houses next to each other on both sides of the street want them what then? But the scheme has not taken off and guidelines laid down. Only time will tell and so far there are very few of them. Question. what right do people have to restrict parking to others on a public highway for their own benefit?

To site them in places that are not directly in front of houses. I think it is a good idea sited away from front doors as discussed. If one wants and gets it directly outside their house others will as well and we end up with containers all down the street. Its not aways about me me me.

You get more with Southwark because the Borough is bigger? Smaller collections would only result in more being dumped here there and everywhere

In South London press/Southwark News In various shop windows in Bellenden village and surrounding shops even in local pubs. Banners as mentioned in prominent positions all around not in back waters and roads with flowing traffic Local Cllrs actually making an effort to promote. There has been a deafening silence from all Lane Cllrs. Again apart those who will have been informed in a limited way by Southwark I suspect would be members of Peckham Vision. There used to be Bellenden Residents group many years ago but that seems to have died a death. As I and others suspect it will be decided on those in the loop in organisations like above who have members who have to change what is a well tested system that works. Media responses from those who have no connection to the area but want to turn the area back to fields for a more green way of life. Southwark loves email responses with no resident confirmation if real. Change is alway welcome and the area has benefited from the new influx but common sense seems to have been lost in favour of over the top Heath and safety for no apparent reason. We still have pavements, crossings and traffic islands which will be replaced with the same plus months of disruption. If it was an accident black spot something would have to change. It is not. Lack of participation and advertising from the Labour Cllrs speaks volumes What I cannot understand is why they want to change a free flowing system to a 2 way system, what is different to the mass of traffic when it is done. You still have mass traffic and then have two sets of traffic to view which will make crossing more difficult and congestion at all the junctions

Why when they redesigned this junction not so long ago this was not thought of. I don't think Southwark has a clue. Univ grads with no local experience only paper theory. Would not be surprised to learn they are employed on how cheap they are or have managed to answer the pc employment questions correctly.

Is it great for cyclists? as the intention is for two way traffic they still have to use the same road now with less space. Also there will be a greater number of junctions unlike free flowing traffic all round as now. Pedestrians can and always have been able to walk in safety, and there is no problem accessing the existing green spaces. Why can common sense not prevail over a hidden political agenda. Ill thought out 20mph on all roads for instance As has been pointed out it is a tried and tested route.Perhaps it is the thought of free money that has clouded Southwark thought pattern in this. Please leave as is No benefit at all. Please leave alone
