  1. Correct. It was only the residents of Camberwell Grove not all local residents. Perhaps you might recall the meeting, if you went, where all were against the closure of a main traffic route. This is what local residents, other than The Camberwell people wanted for the road to remain open. It was kept open by the use of traffic lights and the road narrowing to safe guard the weight on the bridge not to stop the rat run Camberwell Grove used to describe this main route. This is why local residents are keeping a very close eye on this.
  2. Last Thursday a lorry came up Chadwick Road and could not move because of the traffic from Camberwell Grove. Chadwick Road was shut for approx 40 minutes. The lorry had to reverse the whole length of the road from the railway bridge. Jams are now the norm on the road.
  3. Not very open and above board is it. Hope you are not being hung out to dry. Would have thought Wandle would have wanted all to see how fair they have been. Some how dont think so. Are you getting help from all concerned. Good luck
  4. As there has been very little update on this, can any resident, shared owner or tenant bring the forum up to date. We do not want this matter to slowly die through lack of interest which may be the wanted course of action. Cllr, MP.Anyone out there.
  5. All the local Cllrs have been very quiet on this
  6. Does this mean that all traders will be subjected to the cash raising exercise if they have things outside their shop. The French House has benches outside, will they be charged?
  7. What is the speed limit on Barry Road?
  8. The Dulwich Forum is a wonderful medium is it not.
  9. If one can go back a few years the residents of Camberwell Grove tried to get the bridge closed but fortunately a mass turnout of residents at a meeting in the chapel on the Grove put a stop to this. British Rail at that meeting promised to reinstate a new bridge as the old one could not handle the weight of large vehicles, hence the measures there now, and the measure that is now there was only temporary. No doubt Camberwell Grove residents will again be working behind the scenes to make your fears come true. The main reason they offered up was it was a rat run. At that meeting it was rather like the film independence Day. One day it was all quiet and not a vehicle in sight, they all went to bed and the next day traffic that did not exist before they bought suddenly appeared. Camberwell Grove has alway been a major highway from the moment it was built and should continue as such. This reason was excepted 100% by all parties concerned. The side roads cannot handle the traffic. Has anyone actually seen any official reasons and data to support the current closure? With Southwark Road plans these days one has to be very vigilante as things just get passed on a TMO.
  10. The truth is when caravans etc normally turn up piles of rubbish follow. So could one correctly then say this is typical behaviour or just a lapse moment from normal considerate behaviour.
  11. Must use the "I am a traveller" if I ever get stopped for any potential wrong deed. Off scott free

Would show that they are liable for the same rules as the rest of us. Or is that to simple?
  13. Pickup in Photo YT56 WLH Registration number: YT56 WLH ✓ SORN ✗ No MOT Expired: 09 August 2016
  14. Did the same thing happen not so long ago?
  15. Or a hatred of the motor vehicle.
  16. A note says that "This change is at the request of the Metropolitan Police Service, and is intended to provide a robust basis for camera enforcement of the speed limit." So it is the police who are looking for a revenue stream on certain roads and Southwark. There are interesting national sample statistics on compliance with speed limits in free-flowing conditions. Those for 2015 included 20mph limits for the first time. "For all vehicle types, 20 mph roads had the lowest level of speed limit compliance in 2015." 84% of cars observed were over the 20mph limit. [www.gov.uk] Do you think then that the speed limit they want is wrong and needs to be reconsidered? The OP wrote "What next, the possibility of traffic speed cameras on all routes. More wardens hiding behind trees? Revenue stream".
  17. Basically this is what's happening since Sainsburys set up shop.
  18. More camera signs going up today on the Champion Hill side.
  19. Coming up on the bus from East Dulwich to Dog Kennel Hill I noticed on the opposite road workmen accompanied by traffic wardens fixing traffic camera signs to lamp posts. I did not look on the Sainsbury side as the bus was almost at the top. Does this mean cameras are already there and this thread has prompted Southwark to come out of the closet or will they now be placed to generate revenue. Perhaps Cllr Barber could offer some insight
  20. Perhaps Cllr Barber could tell us when a traffic camera was put in or has it always been there? Cannot see a traffic person standing there with a hand held machine clocking tickets.
  21. That is where the double yellow lines should be sited. Will the Lane Cllrs take note, I doubt it as they do not as someone pointed out answer any emails. This junction should be a must do as it hinders the P13.
  22. Someone in the lounge raised the matter of help for residents from the Mayor, could a resident bring us up to date as to what help the MP, Cllrs and Wandle are actually doing? This should thread should not be allowed to die. Look forward to an update
  23. Will not be difficult to see them and walking my dog each day I cannot remember seeing dog leads stretched across the park road. Horror story that really does not exist. If you cannot manage this park road with confidence you should not be on the road.
  24. Now that the circus regarding Brexit, Call me Dave and the Labour party has passed would it be possible for some update on the problems of Solomons Passage. Will either Southwark Cllrs or Harriet Harman inform locals what has transpired to help all those people and what Wandle is doing. Local party members have power through the party to keep an issued raised. What are they doing. Although it is a civil legal matter for Wandle what are they doing to help residents? Apart from doing the basic requirement that their lawyers have instructed. Perhaps Solomons residents could keep us up to date and not let this drop off the radar.
