So 57% don't. How do they get these figures? Do they ask people? If there is 1 car per family but all use it how does that work. Politicos will alway skew figures for the result that want

In an earlier post I asked Cllr Cllr Barber if he spoke at the meeting hoping to hear if he had stood up and said I am changing my mind on the question of a barrier. But in true libdem mode however you sense he could change it again if the wind changes. He replied on the forum "Hi spider69, I did. mostly reiterating that we'd agree a feasibility study that would cover all the local roads as far as Towny. That Chesterfield and Ashbourne Grove were given full speed bumps despite have less spending and traffic volume than Melbourne Grove via CGS funds several years ago. So CGS valid used of funds for helping fix such local problems that don't appear on Southwark wide priorities." But according to Grok "Barber arrived late but kept his tongue but his incredulous face pulling at anti barriers was childish in the extreme." Which in my mind confirms what Grok has said above that Cllrs have no backbone and feel they are so important they cannot admit when they have got it wrong to an open meeting. They are following a political agenda regarding traffic. Will the barrier question disappear, no they will find a way.

messageRe: Closure of Melbourne Grove to through traffic - new petition Posted by richard tudor Yesterday, 04:51PM I do hope that the remark made to RCH is recorded in the minutes as an accurate report of what went on and who said what. As is normal in minute taking. So not much hope this has been minuted.

Perhaps he could cast his eye of the repairs done on Chadwick Road. From Bellenden up towards Grove Park. They have taken the scaffold down but all marks where it had been. Pity they could not have repaired all the front fences still looks a total mess. As I walk up and down it every day cannot believe it could not have all been done.

Postcode: Name Which of these is the most common way you travel on Champion Hill? Walking / Scooting /Cycling/Driving Other: How would you rate your experience of using Champion Hill? (1 = Very bad and 5 = Very Good) 1 2 3 4 5 Do you agree or disagree with the following statements about Champion Hill? Agree Disagree Not Sure Traffic is too fast There is too much traffic Road safety is an issue The route is easy to cycle The route is easy to walk Are there any parts of Champion Hill that you find particularly uncomfortable to use? (Safety/convenience/comfort) Do you have any thoughts on how these issues could be improved? Do you think a road closure on Champion Hill at the junction with Dog Kennel Hill is a good idea? Yes No Not sure Or a one-way system for southbound vehicle traffic (two-way for cyclists) between Denmark Hill and the raised junction on Champion Hill? Yes No Not sure What three words would you use to describe using Champion Hill? If you can?t attend a drop-in have your say about Champion Hill by filling out our survey Please fill out the survey by 31st Aug and return to us in the enclosed The above is a consultation which was not widely shared. I did not get it. It refers to quiet ways and traffic. All roads seem to be under attack. One thing is for sure if people do not comment it will happen. If your Cllrs is pro do not expect any help Having lived on and around Champion Hill for the last 69 years I fail to see why this scheme should ever see the light of day. It works well and always has done in my lifetime. Why should all these new changes suddenly be desired They have put in pinched points and again closing off the road is. there. Melbourne Grove any one. Its these changes that have caused all the problems. Every where you turn green behind the ears planners know better than residents.Looks good on paper with a red felt pen line. God knows where they think the traffic will be diverted to. Change for the sake of change. How come past generations seemed to manage.

Roadworks in Lordship Lane at end of North Cross Road

Is the current re-organisation taking place in Southwark Council making matters worse? Senior staff going and others fearing for their jobs does not concentrate the mind. -

If they put you off, tell them > you will ring every 30 minutes until you speak to > someone. out of interest from what section/area/department are they from Southwark is yet again in another reorganisation and combining of departments. This is where the expertise of older workers gets thrown away for cheaper inexperienced replacements. -

Southwark Housing Repairs - Legal advice needed
spider69 replied to wonderwoman's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Why not put in a disrepair legal claim. If it can be shown Southwark was in the wrong you have a claim. Peter John should be included in all correspondence. Disrepair tends to concentrate the senses as it could be expensive. -

I Suspect it's because these cameras have not been in operation for many years. If they are activated it would have been nice to have been informed. this is not a 20 mph road. If you are a driver do you actually drive at or below 20mph all over the borough on every road.

This week I received a form asking me to confirm my place on the electoral register. Southwark could have enclosed information on the use now of these cameras. I suspect most of Southwark have no idea what is going on. Special treatment for formites, no just info from our elected reps on the forum. You are right it is a mess.
