  1. I think we are all at a loss to understand how the proposal can have got this far without asking for the views of residents - who are cyclists, pedestrians, bus-users and car-drivers, have children at local schools, and know these local roads very well. We all want this junction to be safe. But we don?t want changes that cause traffic problems all over Dulwich and East Dulwich, and make other junctions and residential roads less safe for pedestrians and cyclists. Like most things with Southwark they just hoped they could slip it through. Perhaps the Cllrs could be more on the ball?

  3. With regard to the proposal for this crossing I would like to put forward a very radical and possible live changing suggestion. If you are coming down Greendale and want to get to Townley Road and feel nervous just get of your bike and use the crossing facing Alleyns School. Alternatively if you want to cycle towards Herne Hill again get off the bike and use the crossing by the James Alleyn Girls to reach the road. .If you are coming Townley Road and want to go towards East Dulwich and feel nervous use the crossing and then proceed. No doubt the cycling brethren will insist they should be able to go anywhere willy-nilly without thinking. The same applies to our motorised drivers. You could even push your bike on the pavement to either school from these points if you are a child. As I have said it is a very radical suggestion and would need the application of common sense which seems to be lacking in many things these days, it would also save a great deal of money. I have been using this route since I was able to on a bike for almost 60 years in safety and am what you would call a local who has managed to survive. I cannot see why people cannot be responsible for their own actions in every day life. Unfortunately many local decisions are taken by faceless Southwark Officers after a single complaint and committees you never hear of in the local real world

  6. What is Cllrs Barbers take and response on this "passed on the nod" Go to Community Council Meeting and you can see this in action. Unfortunaly many local residents cannot find the time to go so the few that want something backed by Cllrs end up getting it passed. Wrong

  8. From September to April job assessments are being made to get spinal point salary rises for the year 2015/16 in addition to the cost of living rise from the Council Could this be justifying why a rise should be made by putting forward any number of plans to show they are earning their pay no matter how badly thought out. Get like minded in a room and it will get passed with no local consultation. Strange that for all years past this has never been a problem. What has happened to people exercising a little common sense when out and about? Perhaps Local Cllrs could explain where all displaced vehicles are to go? Another revenue exercise by the jobsworths.

As it looks like a public toilet found in past years in parks why not turn it into one for the benefit of all.
  11. There seems to be a concerted effect to diss the Dulwich Estate on all number of fronts. Why? Is it envy. You have I don't so like most things I want it no matter. My old mother said " If you want it, work for it" How times have changed

Perhaps employ a man with a red flag to walk in front of all moving vehicles? What happened to self awareness. Sorry that was the past

Why has this not been put out for public consultation. Southwark officers seem to believe they can do what ever they decide behind closed doors as gospel. Perhaps it should be pointed out we pay their salaries through our Council Tax and should have a deciding vote.

  18. The ambience between the 2 are poles apart. The rye lane one is the pits. I suspect not many people will make the effort. Shame LL is closing
  19. If you have lived in Manhattan you would appreciate this gem Oyev
  20. I would suggest you discuss the matter with Homeownership, pre-assignment department they are responsible for setting out future charges. They can explain It would appear as stated before they will list everything to cover their back.
  21. Walked past these flats a number of times and it appears that major works are taking place. Maybe I have the wrong block off of Arnold avenue. Not so long ago there were a lot of works to roofs etc If I can remember. What you have to remember is the council will list every possible repair they can to make sure you do not come back and say I did not know that. You never told me. If major works have been scheduled for 2014/15 they should have issued notices. Of intention, notice of proposal and then results of the tender process. However you will be left in the dark until the above is issued. Your solicitor should be able to confirm if any of the above has been sent Know the estate well was always nice. The service charge is something you should take a good look at can some time surprise. What ever repairs are done on the service charge will be listed under unitemised repairs these cannot go above ?250 per flat if they do S 20 notices have to be issued. These are extra on the Service Charge Ex Council flats and charges can be expensive
  22. What type of property is it and where?

Why can residents not get free parking within a CPZ if they pay Council Tax and get the CPZ badge I know the answer perhaps Southwtark might like to adopt another non rip off scheme
  24. Because if you make a mistake a 1000 support groups will appear to put your neck on the block. Common sense does not apply these days only pc correctness
