  1. I get very confused in Superdrug because they have a price listed underneath the product..and it turns out that is the price with 'Superdrug Card' which I dont have..I was recently made redundant so I've been very careful when spending and check price tags in a way I would'nt have donr whilst in FT employment.
  2. agree Fit For is far from affordable at least for me. over 1k PA is a condisiderable outgoingWhen I was seeking a local gym some time ago I enquired there and once I heard how much membership started from I did'nt even bother to look round the gym
  3. @Sue I don't know if she took over the pub..it does'nt ring any bells but I'm in contact with her so I'll try and remember to ask.
  4. Rose who used to run Grace and Favour has a wonderful shop called Butlers Emporium on george Street in Hastings You'll find it on instagram as butlersemporium3
  5. I have fond memories of Govinda's I used to go there back in the 90's (maybe earlier) for an affordable tasty lunch..I was wondering if its still around. Now I have to make a point of going there. Does anyone else remember a really affordable basement cafe run by the church in a street off of Golden Square? parallel to Regent Street? I also used to love the Vegetarian cafe on Neal Street in the basement (Neal Street Cafe?) and there was an inczredible inexpensive authentic Japanese resturant I use to go to with my Japanese friends (who introduced me to it) tucked away behind Long Acre where that brown brick modern building ('modern' I think it went up in the 90's!) now stands that fronts Long Acre and Neal Street..I think it was called Asakasa or something?
  6. Perry Bamonte from The Cure.. Just 65 years old.
  7. I don't know how it works now but my late parents had little money when they were retired (just state pension and they rented their flat) and they used to take their cat to the Blue Cross (In Victoria if I remember correctly) where treatment was free for those who could'nt afford a private vet. I sincerely hope similar is available still because for many elderly their pet is their main source of comfort and company.
  8. As @Angelina says, We Choose Medivet LL Over the likes of 'Snoots' because We have an incredible Vet there who has actually correctly diagonsed what is wrong with our Elderly cat on two occasions before the blood test results even came back and because being part of a chain when he suddenly became seriously unwell we were able to go their Camberwell Emergency 24 hour Vet.
  9. I'm a bit of an architecture geek and I must confess I find it one of the most gimmicky ugly redesigns I've seen in a while. I'm always open to quirky but this is just not nice in any way shape or form.
  10. Yes The lease ran out on the shop. So chi chi ra ra will only be online or at the various fairs. It says on her instagram
  11. I don't know if he does newborns but I highly reccomend Will Westwood at Goose Green Clinic I've tried many Osteopaths locally and in Central London over the years and he Is now my 1st choice.... Highly qualified, and very gentle with good advice and aftercare.
  12. I watched that the other day..what suprised me was how normal it was to smoke at work. It was a fab documentary I really enjoyed it!
  13. I assumed they were somehow connected to or or supporters of Reform..this assumption is based on the fact when confronted by two of their collectors at Marylebone Station early one morning (around 7.30am) in the summer and I refused to donate one of them said "Don't you care about Army Veterans? Are you a Muslim? Don't you care about England?" I told them to F**k Off I may be old I may be small but I won't stand for Racism or Biggotry in any form. The whole term 'Blighty' smacks of Reform and flag waving racists
  14. Perhaps Post on SE23.com and the Sydenham forum too.
  15. This is awful..I'm so sorry to hear about your poor Pup. And I totally agree its downright ignorant of owners to let dogs with known behavioral issues and agression towards other dogs (or their owners) to walk the dogs off lead. I'm really upset and angry about this.
  16. The organisers must have spent a fortune on the display..imagine how p**s*d off they must have been!!!! Blink and you missed it kind of thing
  17. @SingingWilks yes! that makes sense Thank you
  18. @Cyclemonkey@Penguin68 Yes I heard that... I thought it was thunder at first and it did indeed sound like shelling
  19. it did seem like a rediculous almost troll like post... I did'nt love the property/it was'nt priced like a probate property which is what I'd asked for/I can afford 5k (or whatever...) extra insurance premium its not about the extra cost/also considering Clapham etc etc.. I reiterate that anyone daft enough to put in an offer on a property which I gather is over 800k and go as far as having a survey done on a house they actually admit they did'nt like..then being 'embarrased' when they survey throws up previously unmentioned issues and posts on a forum asking what to do really needs to stand back and have a good look at what on earth they are doing. I may have implied that..I was incredulous when I read what she posted. it did'nt make sense throwing money into buying a house you didnt want then agonising over it.
  20. Yesterday evening we were driving at 6.30pm ish and at least 2 out of 3 cyclists we passed were either in dark colours, no helmet or high viz and without working lights..It was shocking actually because in side streets without many lights they became virtually invisible. We also witnessed an E-Scooter rider in black no lights weaving through moving traffic..obviously not in a helmet. its sad to see someone wearing an expensive Puffa Jacket who cant be bothered to pay a small amount for working lights on their bike.
  21. I go to the dry cleaner on Dartmouth road in Forest Hill..I have a lot of vintage and designer clothes and I've been going to Eddie for years, They are'nt a 'specialist dry cleaner' but I've always found their care to be meticulous. The one that the Designer boutiques in The West end use is Buckingham Dry cleaners They are based in Mayfair and I believe they will do a home collection and delivery. I worked in designer fashion retail and my employers always used them ££££ so I've always gone to the one on Dartmouth Road https://www.buckinghamdrycleaners.com/service/dry-cleaning/ Edited to add..For a specialist service I doubt there would be anyone locally I just reccomend on personal experience. Buckingham are gold star service and you can message them about the garment in advance...
  22. Thanks for posting this, I've always been intrieged by that house having glimpsed it passing by..It truly is the dream
  23. if small family homes are priced at £2.000.000 in SE22 I suspect they are over priced.
  24. Fireworks yesterday evening that scared our elderly cat and sent him hiding under our bed (his safe place). about 10 miniutes ago they started again.. another night of the cat lying terrifed under the bed. Its so selfish and unfair!
