I witnessed the Mini cooper going at about 100mph down LL towards Goose green, then it shot accross the roundabout a solitary police car a fair way behind..then this was followed by police cars going both ways sirens going. Anyone crossing the road would have been a gonner because the mini was ignoring red lights etc. No idea if they got them or what it was about but it was like something out of the Italian job.

Ugly...maybe..does it bother me..NO! I think its somehow reassuring to see theres still phoneboxes around. East Dulwich may be getrified but there may well be some elderly people who don't have mobiles and kids who may have lost theirs adults ditto etc etc. I'd rather keep it than lose it...just because i don't use it does'nt mean its not needed. there are many eyesores in the modern world not all of them as potentially useful.

Agree! Its been there years and the team are knowlegable and friendly. Its a real loss to South London. @TWB Cat Sitter I have posted a link to your post on the SE23.com forum. Hopefully it helps. -
I had both together, Last few times I've been given Moderna which I seem to react to with a rash and red sore arm for up to a week..This time I had Pfizer and as with other times I've been given Pfizer No reaction at all and none of the slightly run-down ugh symptoms I've had after past jabs. I''m 65 but eligible for the jab.

Thats very sad..they're a lovely local buisness and coming up to Christmas trading too. I witnessed the fire from outside the cordon and there were huge flames leaping into the air..I could'nt tell which shop it was exactly but I did hear a guy telling someone it started in the hairdressers then spread really quickly to the back of the bike shop. So much respect for the brave firefighters I saw running to help and wishing all of them a safe evening. -
I am a big fan of Blue Brick..possibly my favourite local cafe for lunch..

I would go to Victoria (185 bus or Southern Rail) then get either a bus from there to Chelsea Town hall (I think it may be the C1 but I'm not sure..I moved from that area over 25 years ago) and the Royal Marsden is a short walk from there. OR get a Underground from Victoria to Sloane square and a Taxi from there to Royal Marsden..It would'nt cost much because its a few mins away..or a bus from Sloane Square to Chelsea Town Hall or Fulham Rd/Sydney St

I've been seeing Will Westwood for an issue with my shoulder (New Gym Routine🙄) Due to Surgery I've had some time ago I need an osteopath who knows their stuff but is gentle. I hit the jackpot with Will! When I first saw him I could'nt lift my arm at all and was in real pain and discomfort. Thanks to Will's expertise and the exercises he told me to do my shoulder is 99% recovered with mobility restored and strength coming back. I honestly cannot reccomend Will enough- he took time every visit to listen to how I was doing, and check my progress then tailored the session accordingly-I was very low when I went to see him for the first time wondering if I'd ever be 'fixed'..and now I'm back fully in the gym. Thank you so much Will!

@Azalea I'm pretty sure that was The Jubilee pool it was off the avenues near the estate. I do miss living in W10!

I agree with @malumbu Forest Hill around the Horniman. Forest Hill station has Southern Rail and Windrush, The London bridge train is great for connecting to Northern Line or Southern Trains to Charing X and Cannon Street. When I need to get into the city I take Windrrush to Whitechapel then Elizabeth Line to Liverpool Street. Lots of parks, Lots of young families, farmers Market on Sunday, Decent nearby pool and gym. Independent Butcher a few Delis (Aga's The butcher sells Deli stuff And Pantry on Perry Vale) and good independent cofee shops, An organic grocer on dartmouth road.. Sainsburys, Costa, Superdrug and TJ Jones (WHSmith) are branches of chains based there.

And they are often outside Marylebone mainline station in the morning.

Was it Jubillee sports centre In the avenues off of Harrow road? I used to go there it was a lovely pool. Now demolished but I think its been absorbed into the new sports centre on Kilburn Lane. The only other Swimming pool near W9 is Porchester where I used to go but the pool was always FREEZING! back on topic..I thought Dulwich Leisure centre pool was reopening at the end of August? where did the date of 22nd September come from? I cancelled my membership to pay per visit when they informed us of the huge price hike for full membership so have been attending another gym but I do like the depth of Dulwich and its the only pool I do use.

I would'nt go locally I'd go to Maria Tash in Liberty..it'll be more expensive but they will do a good job and its their buisness not a 'sideline' to other beauty offerings. https://www.mariatash.com/store-locations/maria-tash-london-liberty?srsltid=AfmBOoqMz7Ev-4YqzrlkePX0n3i5JbiggGYSR9kU5z1p_ajP_jjQKqlt I have no experience of piercing at Polished but I went in to enquire about a manicure and I found the staff attitude pretty rude, looking me up and down when I walked in and just giving off a bad attitude like they just could'nt be bothered maybe because I'm not a glam 30 something? I dont know.

I'm pretty sure I saw him today near the junction of Lordship Lane and Dulwich common standing by the crossing near the entrance to the woods. Wearing a black trench coat , black trousers and dark timberland style boots his clothes looked somewhat worn and he was looking pretty wild eyed..I was in a car going by and I noticed him standing by the kerb looking somewhat aggrivated. other women please be aware

I'm London born and bred and have always considered myself streetwise having grown up in Notting hill (pre getrification) and I lived on the border of Harlesden (kensal green) in the 90's when it was pretty sketchy round there .and I spent much of the 80's and early 90's in downtown New York.. I would walk everywhere at all hours of the day and night and never felt particularly uneasy largely because I was always mindful of my surroundings and walked with 'purpose'. I don't know wether its because I'm now so much older but I don't feel as comfortable as I used to walking round London. Today I was in the West end and I made sure to carry my bag on the opposite arm to that facing the kerb and felt uneasy when I saw people wizzing around on limebikes or scooters close to the kerb..I never got my phone out at all...I never used to feel like this but just recently I've had friends witness phone and bag snatching in central london in broad daylight..apparently it happened so fast in both instances there was nothing anyone could do to help..One phone snatching was during the tube strike 7.30am two guys on bikes grabbed a mans phone..My friend took the victim to a nearby hotel to sit down and recover the hotel said due to the tube strike they had witnessed many duo's of youth out very early on bikes aware that there were more pedestrians around at that time with their phones out trying for Ubers or looking at directions. I would'nt say I feel 'unsafe' I just feel more aware of being a possible target for crime than formerly. I don't know if this is due to being older or due to reading the press.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a guy that fits that description hanging around the area of LL in the past, I noticed him because he had a crazy look in his eye and was quite tall, skinny scruffy and dressed in black, looked like he was on drugs tbh..but the guy I recall was definately nearer 40 and his hair was balding in the centre somehow..in a kind of U shape. I just got a 'dont make eye contact' with him vibe. I hope they catch him soon its very scary..and I wish his victim a swift recovery.

Love Dulwich rebranding as Turkish Restaurant
NewWave replied to Angell34's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
so happy to hear it..I think they struggled when they first opened as they were percieved as yet another Pizza place But I enjoyed my food there and thought it fairly priced too..I'm a real believer in supporting local independents running any buisness is tough these days especially in the hospitality sector.
