  1. Ikea are far better. I wouldn't touch B&Q and Wickes
  2. Foxtons are the pits. Pure sharks and positively oily. I do wish it would become a Waitrose though! ****Please note my last paragraph was a joke******
  3. I want to try Vits and kicks..Went past the other day and checked the menu outside but all I could see was food on the menu and cocktails, I must go in and actually ask the veg juice offerings AND check the price!
  4. I did...But here its mis-leading. On the board they have listed the option of a juice with 2 ingredients (I think I wanted 2 vegetables because as a rule I dont like sweet drinks..) no additions and from memory that was around £4.50. So how come yours was so much more than the price quoted? Did they add gold glitter to it?! Yes...That was what I couldn't work out.. I really didn't hang around to quibble Or point out the quoted price for that juice on the board(she hadn't started to make the juice yet) I questioned the cost and the girl serving said "oh, hang on a moment..." looked at the till and then told me the price quoted was correct. I honestly dont think I was imagining the lower price of that particular juice as to be totally honest it wasn't the one that appealed to me the most I only ordered it because it was the cheapest in theory! Edited to add: I just looked at their menu..I think it was the apple ice mint and ginger I asked for In a small its quoted on their menu as £6.30 I thought it was less but either way I was quoted £1 more and I wasn't even drinking it inside. Still seem like rip off prices for something so basic. Or maybe I'm just old and out of touch.
  5. Or eat whole fruits. At least then you get the fibre. Assuming they aren't giving you the pulp as well in their juices I do eat Fruit but I must admit I do love a green juice (hate fruity juices) with Kale, Spinach, apple and cucumber I make them at home myself in my juicer but this was one of those hot days when I just really really craved a quick veg juice hit without stopping and buying the stuff and doing it myself.

  7. Fancying a nice Veg juice post gym the other day I stupidly thought I'd pop into Joe and the Juice and get one. I expected to pay about £4 which even in Central London is the going rate for a fresh juice. I ordered the simplest juice nothing fancy, not a smoothie not added 'shots' of this or that. I went to pay it was over £7!!! Something like £7.30..I asked the young lady behind the counter to repeat the price. I honestly thought she'd made a mistake. Nope a simple 2 ingredient juice over £7. I said "nope sorry not paying that.." went to Blue Brick and got a decent juice for almost half the price. Who on earth willingly pays these prices?? I dont usually moan about the cost of things but Joe and the Juice is a blatant rip off ! I regularly get my lunch in the west end and have never bothered to go in "joe and the Juice' This was the first and last time. I wonder how long they will last in this location? A family of 4 would pay almost £30 for juices alone...Mindblowing!
  8. Brexit has greatly affected many small businesses. As well as larger ones. The sheer paperwork involved in importing goods to the UK is a headache and time-consuming . Even large stores are being adversely impacted by the paperwork involved these days. Where I work we used to be able to transfer stock from France and Italy in 5 days but now it takes around 6 weeks. I think we will see more and more small independent shops just give up because its not worth the hassle. Sad times.
  9. I also recommend Sparsh, Easy to get to as its opposite Sainsburys on London Road. everything tastes of quality ingredients and its definitely a cut above the usual Curry house. Prices are good too.
  10. Very sad about this. Lovely staff good quality stock (the plants I buy there always thrive unlike those I've purchased from the likes of Homebase and Columbia road), fairly priced. The garden centre in West Dulwich is frankly a bit rubbish, very small selection and overpriced, (I mean the one thats the side of Dulwich College behind the parade of shops). I always look forward to going there to get my stock of plants for my summer pots. They will be missed especially at Christmas when I love getting decorative treats there.
  11. Like Jellybean I am very anxious about the cutting of Local bus routes. In my case its specific to the 12 and 176 which are the only busses I can use to get my job in Central London. I've filled in the consultation forms and petitions but I feel that will be ignored by the powers that be... What are our Councillors doing to make TFL realise that we deserve better, and many locals do need to commute for work.
  12. I believe he did indeed rent a house there when he was over here filming. A colleague of mine has family who live in the village and this is what he told me
  13. Oh Wow!!! its funny! maybe someone was bored
  14. Crown and Greyhound food and service are abysmal last I heard. Franklins is always good. Palmeston ditto
  15. Walking past the playing fields opposite Dulwich college around 11am I was actually surprised and angry to see about 3 large rotating sprinkler systems watering the grass behind the running track. We are in a drought for heavens sake !!! The kids are on school holidays and yet there is all that precious water being wasted... walk by and I guarantee you its the only beautiful verdant stretch expanse of grass you'll encounter for miles... Certainly not in any local park I've been to. I really think someone should be called to account for this. Its NOT a puny private garden its a field for heavens sake! I find it really annoying the ignorance and entitlement of this. And no this is NOT a classic rant its about being responsible.
  16. We are regular's at Lucas and go most Saturdays for brunch. The staff and owner recognise us and when we sit outside we also get asked to pay upfront. Do I object? No-the waitress who knew us was apologetic about needing to ask for advance payment but I'm sure they wouldn't have needed to do this if people hadn't eaten then left without paying whilst seated outside. Its a struggle for all independent businesses right now and I'd rather pay upfront and keep Luca's going than go to Megans where the food is truly awful and belongs to a chain.
  17. I too was appalled by the amount of escooters scattered in the above location. If someone was partially sighted they could easily take a tumble over them. It also narrows the pavement at a busy junction. And let us not forget these scooters are also sometimes used by street robbers.
  18. No pressure. It sounds like you've got some nice kit, Arturia make good instruments. Lets hope it wasn't being sold because it didn't work. Obviously check the line and headphone outputs. Flick through the presets in case one or two on them are in an odd mode. I would also try and play it from your Key Lab to see if the Micro Freak keyboard isn't the problem. I take it turning the controls updates a value in the display or clicking around in the mod matrix moves the LEDs? Next I would try updating the firmware, this will bring it up to date and flush out some potential problems. Good luck
  19. I'll ask my Husband this evening.. This is something he knows a great deal about.
  20. The OP saddens me. I pray the guy doesn't lose his job over this. God knows times are hard, maybe the other parent was unwell and unable to do the school run. If it bothers you wait until he's dropped the kids off and have a polite word but please I beg you dont put a father's job at risk over this.
  21. Its really so disappointing that Barclays consider it no inconvenience to leave only 1 branch that covers Dulwich to Catford and thats in Peckham. Today I needed to go into the bank near my workplace only to discover that too is closing leaving the only branch in central W1 in Hanover Square. I work in Marble arch-its a big chunk of my lunch hour getting to Hanover Square and the W1 branches all shut at 2.30pm
  22. Hear Hear! And I also agree that one person sat on a laptop at a table for 4 could deter custom. I can think of a lunchtime when not wishing to sit alone at a large table I asked to share with a laptop user who had papers and files spread across the table like a real home/office..Boy did she huff and puff at having to move the papers to her side of the table... She had a teapot and an empty cup next to her. She didn't order anything else in the time I ordered-ate my brunch and paid.
