Sound system / loud party / jump up on Tyrell Rd
craigy replied to Willard's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I heard it too whilst up feeding my baby, thankfully it could only be heard at the back of our house where the kids can sleep through anything but there seemed to be guests parked on our roads so a lot of car activity... Heard a very odd rendition of happy birthday around 4.30.... Not sure where it was coming from and didn't try to find out.... -
Is there a new nursery on Amott Road??
craigy replied to craigy's topic in The Family Room Discussion
thanks for that... does anyone have a child in there? what do you think? -
I know there was talk of one but cannot find any info on here... All the scaffolding is down and people are going in and out so was wondering if anyone knows anything. And I know it would be easy to just ring the bell etc etc but was looking for a bit of background first..

parent and child spaces in sainsbury's car park
craigy replied to dully's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Whilst feeling particularly bad tempered this morning following a harrowing self scan shopping experience in sainsburys at 8.45 this morning (2 checkout open one of which just for baskets- not really relevant..) i was loading shopping and baby into car in parent parking space when a couple parked next to me and got out without any children in the car. As I've sais i was feeling bad tempered so pointed out to them that they seemed to be missing a child and was amused to see them get in the car and reverse into a normal parking space!!! I don't normally do that.. -
not local but i have always found this company to be really quick and do the larger sizes.. usually arrive within 2 days of ordering and the cheapest too.. http://www.tinytotshop.co.uk/mall/departmentpage.cfm/Toys/_283354/1/Trumpette-Baby?gclid=CJn6uMrI1qcCFRRC4QodhDaX9Q

Local business leaving cars on residential road
craigy replied to Sansoo2's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
i too live in the immediate area and have noticed the vans littering tyrrell, hindmans and ferris road in the past couple of weeks as well as a horsebox that hasn't moved in about 6 months and one resident in a flat who has about 5 cars parked in the road... not much hope for the residents to find a parking space... i don't think we are 'covered' by James B though are we are we come under peckham ward or something (sorry not to up on politics)... -
Transverse at 22wks, chances of Unborn Babster turning?
craigy replied to Ruth_Baldock's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Plenty of time to move 100 times over, don't worry... My 1st was breech at 22 weeks and my 2nd arched over my belly button in a very scan unfriendly position and both were cephalic by 28 weeks and stayed that way.... -
Local celebrity (our doctor from Dulwich Medical Center)
craigy replied to Rach's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
She had her own program on C4 recently about dieting called something like 'will my crash diet kill me'. Did anyone see? Didn't really watch it so cannot comment but I have always enjoyed checking out her clothes and shoes! Saw her on Northcross Rd yesterday with a great shirt on... -

First day at nursery - not a happy day!!
craigy replied to paps's topic in The Family Room Discussion
you don't say how old baby paps is as this makes a huge difference.. -
am about to start weaning my exclusively breastfed just over 6 month old and am well out of practice as it is about 4 years since i did it and i have given all my books to my sister at the other end of the country and cannot remember a half of it but as we are going for a very relaxed more baby led approach i am not too bothered... can someone please remind me about the reasoning for not given cows milk before a year, is it purely a nutritional thing? am thinking about cereal and things like that as cannot see the point of using formula as she has never had any before and cannot be fussed with expressing for it and if it is just nutritional that she is breastfed so not an issue... all input gratefully received.... craigy

Lewisham may well take from SE22 as it is based on PCT and health authority so you are still in area living in Southwark as HA is Lambeth/ Southwark/ Lewisham and you do have a choice between hospitals in that area.. I have heard good things about the birth centre but is always important to remember that birth is very subjective and one womans amazing birth may be another womans horror story...

the chassis for my bugaboo chameleon is currently with buggy pitstop... they now do pick up and collection through Peppermint on Northcote Road in Clapham and you drop the chassis off with them on a monday and it comes back the following week.. apparently they are the only place in the country to repair bugaboos.. mine would no longer fold down and apparently the ratchet had snapped and for repair and clean is going to be about ?100 give them a ring on 07921480574. i emailed a fair few times through the website and they never got back to me but were easy to get hold of on this number

Pebbles- it seems your damned if you do and damned if you don't.... Last summer when it was hot and I was pregnant I had a real thing for ice cold full sugar Ribena and drunk loads... I usually drink water.. I went to the dentist when I was 36 wks pregnant and had my 6 monthly X-rays and the dentist then asked me what I had been eating or drinking as there were 4 areas of early decay showing in my teeth and I had 4 fillings 4 weeks after I gave birth..

Very true and my vote goes to The Gardens cafe as they really haven't packed the tables in which is very refreshing in ED.... Was in there on Friday doing that very thing...

My little boy is a big fan of juice so we try it in moderation. He will drink water and the best way with him is in a bottle with sports type cap as it seems a bit more exciting to him than a cup.... Our dentist is also very against juice and said that children do not produce much plaque but lots of juice and sweetened drinks can contribute to this.. Also milk does actually contain a lit of sugar so that is worth considering too....

I think it is safe to say that all east Dulwich venues are used to breastfeeding...

I think you should look at yourself and think whether the method suits you and your personality.... Personally I have no patience with the shush, pat, baby whisperer style of settling a baby and am much more of a leave them to it but again I think that the success of that depends upon the baby... My 1st resisted ddaytime sleep and I pushed him to sleep in his pram or the car or let him sleep on me until about 5 months when a few days of leaving him to cry it out resulted in good napping from then onwards.... My 2nd when she gets tired will just fall asleep no fuss at all (she's now 5 months) and does not respond well to be left to cry it out and will get herself into an awful state... My top sleep tip is a book called 'healthy sleep habits, happy child' by dr Marc weissblauth..

Or Alison Owen, also at Dulwich Therapy Rooms.... She has treated both my children and me and my husband....

I found The Bridge very organised, went in in week and paid for lessons and had first one this afternoon. Was great, easy to get to and huge amount of parking there..

Is a Trunki acceptable hand baggage on a flight?
craigy replied to craigy's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thanks Pickle- very good point, I too am thinking it will be a pain esp as 4 yr old has attention span of a goldfish and we will end up dealing with it so think I may try and sway him towards his new spiderman rucksack.... this is where the attention span of a goldfish comes in helpful as he will forget about the trunki as quick as he remembers it
