  1. I really want to try and get an idea of why they are unable to use the Rye, especially considering their tiny footprint and lack of outside space. This school will be an option for my children but the thing that puts me off the most is this, after all it is a sports academy! Perhaps there's an option of getting it changed..... Thoughts please?
  2. Hi, Can somebody explain to me why Harris boys school are unable to use the Rye for sports? I see other schools using it all the time and just can't work out why Harris boys don't. Kate
  3. Hi Kate, Closing the adventure playground was not made clear in the original post or in the survey, if it had have been more response would have been different! I think offering a playscheme & excluding all others is a terrible idea. This is a facility that I use with both of my children (9&6) quite regularly during the holidays as a drop in, I had no idea that this would no longer be available. Why did you not make this clear earlier?
  4. Also signed. Dulwich estate makes my blood boil!
  5. How about doing a course/ activity at the Thomas Carlton centre. There are loads of reasonably priced courses which would be a good place to meet new people and learn something new aswell.
  6. Yes, thank you James. I thought it would be pretty low! It would be really interesting to see a map of where these people live as I'm sure this will highlight any black holes.
  7. Just to clarify, does that mean that the DofE will be purchasing all the additional land on the hospital site (where the primary was to be set up) or that they are planning on squeezing an additional 240 pupils on the land that was originally planned for?
  8. Hi James Following the secondary school allocations a couple of weeks back, I asked if it was possible to provide a breakdown for the East Dulwich ward the number/ percentage of children that got their 1st, top 3 and top 6 choices and the number/ percentage offered none of their choices. Any chance of providing this information now that the councils have had time to deal with pressing enquiries? Regards Kate
  9. Hi Regardless of admission policy, we need to get this school built asap. Have the next steps been documented & do we have any timelines in place yet?
  10. I was unable to attend tonight. Can anybody provide an update on how it went?
  11. Unfortunately I was unable to attend either if today's Harris Primary consultations. Can somebody update us to what happened? Kate
  12. I'm happy that a new secondary has been approved but I also don't believe the admission criteria "as the crow flies" will target where the need is most. Unless charter change this I fear the will still be a huge number of disappointed families, with no secondary options. Come on charter, please listen to us!
  13. Hi James, You have published the stats for Southwark Secondary School allocations in the family room (% that was allocated first choice, first 3, first 6 and none of the above). Do you have the same information broken down for East Dulwich. Thank Kate
  14. Hi James Do you have a breakdown of those stats for East Dulwich, percentages & numbers that got their first choice, top 3, top 6 and none of the above? Thanks Kate
  15. I can lend you size 14 jacket & trousers. Let me know? Kate
  16. Hi, we're on Friern, between Upland and and Underhill. My oldest is in year 4 and is at Heber, although admission was in the bulge year. This stretch of the road seems to change year on year and our neighbours go to Judith Kerr, St Anthony's, Goose Green & Goodrich. Infact year before last the family opposite me didn't get offered any school until after the shake down and was then offered Goose Green, whilst two houses further up the road the family were offered Goodrich straight away. However this was before the new Harris academy.
  17. I can second Puerto de Mogan, I also have two boys that are older but plenty of younger ones around. We stayed in the hotel cordial. Really good value.
  18. How about some time in the skateboard park & Adventure playground on Peckham Rye. BMX bike riding Brockwell park or Burgess park. Track cycling or mountain biking at the Herne Hill Velodrome. Swimming at Deptford wavelength swimming pool which has a couple of flumes. Visit to the Southbank, always plenty going on.
  19. Any journalists about?

  21. Hi I have a Son in 1M. Which class is he in? We have a very inclusive playground, so I'm sure you'll be made to feel very welcome. Kate
  22. Hi We went two years running and stayed at the grosvenor house hotel in a two bed apartment. It was much cheaper than renting two rooms in a different 5 star hotel. Kate
  23. I have just changed lessons from crystal palace to dulwich purely for convenience purposes & I completely agree with the comments above. My youngest is in stage 3 & he was only in the water 3 times on his first lesson. This is so disappointing, I wish I'd never changed. My eldest is stage 5 and whilst they do constant swimming they are only doing widths (opposed to lengths at crystal palace), so not great for building up stamina. I think I'll be changing again after this term.
  24. James, My next door neighbour lives in a council owned property. During the winter some fence panels were blown down. Someone from the council has been to clear away the broken panels but apparently my neighbour has been told that council will not replace the missing panels. New council policy apparently. Is this true? Does the council now expect it's tenants to maintain its housing stock? In this case a 90+ year old pensioner. Or does the council expect other private residents to do this? Alex
