  4. no probably not. they always hang out there. not sure why they are not doing something useful like making sure people don't park on the yellow zig zag lines outside schools for example
  5. bring back the bags with handles and i think the blue suits Dulwich
  6. Hi We have one of the plastic ones, green & red like this http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Toys-R-Us/Outdoor-and-Sports/Playhouses-and-Tents/Playhouses/Holiday-House(0084737), that you can have. We took it down in the summer for someone to collect but person was a no show, so it,s sitting in the garden! It has a small crack in the roof and would need a bit of a clean, but you could have it in exchange foe a bottle of wine? Kate
  7. Hi We found this place http://www.lesarrail.com/ on this website http://www.babyfriendlyboltholes.co.uk/. I can recommend le sarrail, it is really beautiful with a touch of luxury! It felt very safe for the kids, and they provide lots of toys in both the gite and play barn. Also provide a play scheme, babysitting and food if you should require it. Kate
  8. Hi Have a look here, loads of great advice! http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,617519,617519#msg-617519
  9. Hi Be warned that if you are planning on using the Lidp, it is now shutting between 2-4pm. Cafe is lovely though!
  10. Jags sports club provide a number of different options during half terms & other holidays. My son really enjoys multisports. It runs from 10am until 3pm and costs ?25 (i think). I think they also do tennis & football camps. Their website hasn't been updated with Oct half term yet, but it gives you an idea of what will be on offer. http://www.jagssportsclub.co.uk/Holiday.asp Kate
  11. Hi I have a front mounted child seat for my 2 year old and we both love it. This is the one we've got http://www.co-rider.com/The_Co-Rider_2011.html
  12. just did the same route as Jim the Chin, City to ED via Elephant & Castle, Walworth Rd, Denmark Hill. All fine, shops shut but no trouble and very low profile by police. LL quiet, a few bars open.
  13. Water was too hot this morning. good for a bath not for swimming.
  14. Hi This sort of thing really annoys me, especially when the response makes you feel as though you are being unreasonable, although it really is the other way round. I would do exactly the same as you in this instance. Kate
  15. James, Thanks. I understand budget cuts, surely my answer phone suggestion makes even more sense. Most of the calls were lodged around 11pm so someone should have been there. Alex
  16. James, Last night on Friern road one of residents held a party with very loud music playing until the early hours. A number of neighbouring residents called the anti-social behaviour & noise hotline listed on the Southwark website but were just held in queue waiting for an answer. Whilst this may have been due to a heavy volume of calls surely it would make sense to have an answer phone service so that issues can be reported. If a number of different people report the same issue then it suggest action should be taken. Alex
  17. Try this place, it is absolutely fab. Really child friendly and just beautiful. It is a small gite complex, which is fully equipt and they also have some b&b accomodation. It is in the heart of the Loire valley. www.logisdupressoir.com
  18. Hi, Latchmere leisure centre in battersea allows a ratio of 1 adult to 3 children, as it's a beach entry pool. It also has a little water slide for the kids to play on and a wave machine at the weekends and school holidays. It's about 20 mins drive and has parking. Kate
  19. HI I've seen a post from Melbourne Groover looking for a blue croc, perhaps give her a try. Kate
  20. Try East Dulwich community centre on Darrell road. It has a good size space indoors, with a seperate kitchen and a huge space outside which is fenced in and would be perfect for a bouncy castle. Kate
  21. I'm another big fan of the summer sleeping bags. I believe growbag does two different weights for summer, 1 tog & 0.5 for those really hot nights. Alternatively you could try one of these http://www.merinokids.co.uk/shop/babysleepbags.html . We bought a summer weight one, which saw our oldest child (and now younger) through the past few years, so although it is more expensive than a growbag, it works out cheaper as you don't need the two different weights. Kate
  22. Hi You could try southwark tigers rugby club in Burgess park. They run training sessions most Sunday mornings which are free. Here's a link to their website http://www.southwarktigers.org/1.html Kate
  23. Hi Both my children have been to Oaktree and i have been very happy with the care they have been given. My first was there from the age of two until he started reception and although they did attempt phonics, writing and numbers i do feel that more could have been done. That said, my preference was for him to be in a loving, caring environment over an academic one so i chose to keep him there. My advice regarding the monthly payment is to ask them how they work it out. Kate
  24. Hi I know exactly what you mean. After looking after kids for 4 years suddenly i looked in the mirror for what seemed like the first time in years and saw what everyone else see's. I'm not sure how it happened, but everything was just drab & mumsy. But someone i know from my original Nct group, decided to leave her job as a fashion buyer to do personal styling and really sorted me out. she explained about my body shape, what clothes to buy for my shape & it was very much tailored to my needs. I noticed that she has already responded to this thread. Her name is Sally and i can highly recommend
