  1. Actually James Barber often digs at Labour, and the Labour lead authority that pays his wages/expenses. 99% of posts on this thread can adequately be dealt with by the poster ringing or emailing the council rather than using the middle man of JB. JB often pushes his own agenda such as CPZ etc, as well as stirring up opinion against certain planning applications that he does not like. JB also asks posters to copy him in on planning apps when posters contact the planning officer - this is unfair to the planning officer as it is a veiled threat that a local cllr is involved-if JB was genuine in this aspect he would ask for said emails to be forwardd to him not copied. JB also wastes a huge amount of council officer time in uneccessary work, and wasted associated costs. JB also thinks that EDF is the only voice of ED and forgets about the elderly and poor that can't afford/use the net. So all of this JB works tirelessly for ED is very one sided. JB may do good work at his case surgeries but it's all smoke and mirrors on here.
  2. Isn't that the place James Barber tried to stop getting a licence to sell alcohol/open late?

  4. My sympathies to all victims. What are the police, local councillors and MP for the area doing about this? It's a travesty that law abiding people have to sit and wait to be picked off in this way like so many gazelle. Why don't the local journos that read EDF pick this up? Maybe the victims should take this to the media themselves and force the police and council to act.
  5. I thought James knew a govenor from Bredinghurst?
  6. The diversion this thread took re bullying has been beneficial to the forum IMO as I have not seen 'bullying' or nasty spats on here since this thread. There is at least one poster, (possible reincarnation), that just name calls/swears still). Maybe it has made everybody think twice for whatever reasons. However I do not read all threads/sections.
  7. Enjoyed the Galahad fight, and thought Kid deserved to win. But was it luck or skill how he managed to miss all of the big swings from the scouse chap?
  8. Pubs that allow 'reserving' of tables/areas of said pub. Now pubs that you can only get a Sunday roast in if you have 'reserved' a table. They're pubs, not restaurants. Get there earlier people and claim your table/area and spend money on drinks!
  9. Vermin are attracted to food sources, so clean regularly and they should not be attracted in. They could be gaining entry via the loo, despite the trap. If they are nesting in your walls then they are also probably breeding. Remove the attraction, stop them getting in, and poison the ones already inside. Best to use professionals for this. Good luck.
  10. Depending on the nature of the verbal abuse, you could report it to the police and maybe an 'advisory' visit by them to her would be enough to curtail her behaviour. You could also soundproof in your flat but would mean losing ceiling height.
  11. The only permanence is change. It's a cafe. Get over it.
  12. Wow, a group of rubbish chains in sydenham. Well, really.
  13. I know exactly where it is. Wouldnt matter if i didnt. Law breakers are being fined for breaking the law. Despite what you think. End of.
  14. Ring the anti social behaviour people at Southwark-why accept not even receiving a responre to your email (probably got lost in system). Antisocial behaviour is the washing machine on so late, shouting etc. Report her to landlord-they have responsibilities to. Speak to her partner?
  15. Baby rat
  16. The bus lane is absolutely necessary otherwise may as well not have buses running down LL due to the amount of time it would take.
  17. Cllr crook shank hilton defected from the conservatives I think. She also had the drains fixed outside her house I was told.

Saying the > Highway Code must be obeyed doesn't for excuse > taking advantage of a situation such as this. Doh! Lets see, where would the best place to locate a traffic enforcement camera car be? I know, somewhere where drivers keep breaking the law. It's bleeding obvious. One corner cutter will lead to two etc etc and the bus lane will be blocked.

Ignorance is no defence in law. Highway Code is a requirement. Bus lanes have broken lines for turning at such junctions. What you described sounds like corner cutters and so law breakers. Bus lane abuse holds up hundreds of people.

Translation: Enforcement action is also being taken over illegally parked vehicles on back streets. So park legally in ED.

Odd response but thank you for it. I do not agree with your stance on counter protests but won't go there. Ramifications - there are several including the march taking place on the same street where the main Council offices (town hall) are located and as elected represenatives of that Council I would expect all Cllrs to protest. If EDL had a march in ED then from what you have said you wouldn't protest either. Strange how you differntiate race hate groups.
  23. The stats have been skewed by two things: The companies that own the delivery vehicles that park in the bus lane and get fined on a daily basis for this. Fines are paid and costs pushed onto their customers. Secondly affluent ED middle class that think the law doesn't apply to them and who can afford to pay the fines. The answer is to increase the fines to a deterrant level where individuals will feel it,and customers of companies will use 'cheaper' companies.
  24. Dear James. The leader of Southwark Council has tweeted that the Libdems did not join the opposition protest against the EDL today in Southwark. Although not ED specific it does have ramifications. Why didn't the Libdems join and show unity against the EDL?
