  2. Blue For You - Status Quo
  3. Black Dog - Led Zeppelin
  4. rahrahrah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Nah, best way to heaven is Bakerloo Line to > Charing Cross, then walk down Villiers Street. rahrahrah, I thought that had closed down and it's ex-owner was appearing on a documentary T.V. show doing a completey different job !!!!!!
  5. Check. Check. Check (definitely Odeon). While we're on the subject, what was the Wetherspoons in Forest Hill? Odeon or ABC ?
  6. Snowblind - Black Sabbath
  7. Remember the Odeon on Grove Vale, Louisa, ( as you know, now flats like most of E.D.'s "heritage" ), but 5 cinemas in Peckham ?
  8. You Sexy Thing - Hot Chocolate
  9. Such knowledgeable violent talk from the (clearly now erstwhile) genteel folk of E.D.
  10. Gotta Get a Message To You - Bee Gees
  11. Down the Dustpipe - Status Quo ( allowed ? )
  12. Was bored the other evening and aimlessly flicking through channels came across The Sweeney on ITV4. Apparently it was the first ever episode. John Bindon and Alan Lake both playing villians. (Life immitating art or art immitating life?). Also Brian Blessed and "Dot Cotton" in early T.V.roles. But the most fascinating bit about watching this was outside location shots of E.D., particularly DHFC old stadium. Made in 1974.
  13. edhistory 1) A van is parked legally James Barber 1) No. While the plate with parking restrictions isn't present they're parking LEGALLY Therefore, someone makes a statement or viewpoint. Local politician (any politician) replies by contradicting that viewpoint but actually agrees with it but "shouts" to get his point across because, as we all know, politicians always know best and never listen properly because they're so wrapped up with themselves. ** sits back and awaits reply from local politician stating my overview is wrong **
  14. Many many years ago there used to be an absolute minimum of eighteen months waiting list. Also, there is a real life/fly on the wall/or whatever they call them these days documentary on T.V. that was filmed there. Thursday @21.00 hrs on BBC1.
  15. Otta You're right, his name was Joe, so, who the feck was Ray ?!!!!
  16. This could be way off the mark with the passing of years, but I think (again) that Ray was his drinking buddy and was the butcher in the old co-op store.
  17. Think his brother's name was Jack, but I'm not certain.
  18. Jah Lush is right. They were nasty as well as "friendly/casual" punch-ups. Remember being in the Uplands Xmas Eve 1975, relatively early in the evening it all kicked off and glass thrown about and knives pulled out. Next thing, a handful of cops from across the road came in, truncheons out and meted out instant justice. We left and went home to watch Queen in concert on the box !! Louisa, would that be Ted the chap that run the veg stall on Northcross Road that you speak of?
  19. I believe in Milko Wear ya bra, you sexy thing

Otta A council (and other governing bodies ) can do whatever they like with your (third party) land and your property as when and if they are inclined to do so. The greatest lie/myth ever perpetrated on us : An Englishman's Home Is His Castle
  21. Spreading his word with his pork sausages
  22. Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Look at me, look at me!!! > > > > Pleeeeeease, LOOK AT MEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Isn't that the guitar break from Lynard Skynard's Freebird, Otta!!!!! Can't believe this thread has been resurrected. Must get back to general election, far more engrossing. Or Lynryd Skynryd even !! Third time lucky: Lynyrd Skynyrd !!
  23. Loz Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Anyone just see the mid-30's 'yoof' bloke on This > Week. Finest crash and burn I've seen on TV in a > long while. Do you mean his Iraq and Suez blunder? Superb the way they all had to correct him on the facts and then he got all truculent with "I've not come here for a history lesson". Seems like a true aspiring politician as in why would you ever let the truth get in the way.
  24. That's him!! Thanks Dulwich Fox. Also just looked him up, really sad to see he died so young. They were great little Sunday lunchtime p**s-ups.
