    Great Gigs

Urgh! I don't like it there much either, though I've only been once and that was to see the Stones. Give me the Roundhouse any day.
  5. Yawn. Is this the most pointless and dullest of threads? BBW himself must be loving all this attention. He's mugged you.

  7. Umm...he recently died himself. RIP.

  9. I like the Clockhouse. I've been going in on an irregular basis since I was a teenager. Yes, Peter was up his own arse and a complete snob, Francis could be the same on occasion but was always extremely pleasant to me and without wanting to sound conceited I think she fancied me. The two boys could be a bit odd but I took them with a pinch of salt, a slice of lemon and a shot of Tequila. I only tend to go there mostly in the summer though and this summer it was a very pleasant place to sit outside and watch the world go by. I've found the new staff to be very pleasant and even enjoyed some reasonably good food (in a Youngs pub? I hear Sean Mac say) there during the summer months. I love Youngs beer and so I shall be popping in soon for some Winter Warmer as it's been a while. Cheers!

Think he's a terrific player. Love to see him play more in the hole behind the forward(s), which I think he will under Ancellotti's diamond formation and hopefully for England too. It's definitely his most natural position. If only he played for Spurs. :'(

  16. Ian Hunter is HB's hero. So it was HB. Hope that's got you out of suspenders Ladymuck.
  17. I remember seeing - albeit briefly - a little of the offensive posts that were taken down and they were absolutely appalling. The work of a sick mind. I don't want to read stuff like that on a local forum. He's gone. Get over it.

No. I thought BBW could be equally funny and offensive in good measure but too often his offensivness and sheer rudeness far outweighed his humour. He needed an editor to sort out the wheat from the chaff because he just couldn't help himself when it came to pushing the envelope of bad taste. He had so many chances from Admin to address this but everytime threw their goodwill back in their faces. He also started up far too many meaningless and pointless threads and would over contribute on others. I agree entirely with what Mockney said earlier at the beginning of this thread but here (above) Brendan has summed up BBW's attitude perfectly. As for TLS - I found his posts boring and tedious and his barely concealed racism left a bad taste in my mouth.
  20. I went cold turkey but now you're up and running again I've relapsed.
  21. Lucky devil.
  22. I am and please do.
  23. I've generally found the sound at Brixton to be pretty poor. Some gigs have been good - Primal Scream, Spiritualized and Hole spring to mind. But the worse beyond any doubt was The Smashing Pumpkins back in '93. Bloody awful. Only been to the revamped Roundhouse a couple of times since it's been done up and the sound quality is so much better. Going to see Echo & The Bunnymen there on Thursday.
  24. What the feck is normal anyway? If you're normal I intend to be a freak for the rest of my life.
