  1. Don't think the OP was 'policing' local businesses but just pointing something out. These businesses are probably very vocal on social media e.g. facebook, instagram, whatever, but then don't put in any physical efforts for their shop frontages.
  2. Really hope Boris can weed out the Conservatives who voted against him tonight. As for Paul Brand. I used to like him as a journalist but he has morphed into a younger version of Robert Peston who right now is just reporting on ITV in his usual long drawn out, breathless, exasperated style and hatred of Boris Johnson.
  3. I've found that when going into a lot of shops in the South East London area the assistants don't seem to know what is going on when I give them some cash and there's a big kerfluffle at the till! It's sad really.

  5. Erm I'm not in court here am I? Just accept that cash is king.
  6. It's not rocket science!

This is just absurd and these companies have just opened up their shops in East Dulwich (Pret and now Megans along Lordship Lane). Megans opened up recently in Dulwich Village and I was thinking of trying it out with a big family occasion but won't now.
  9. Found out from another poster on the forum that Pret have gone cashless! How absurd! Surely if you're going to pay for one of their sandwiches, coffees, etc. you might want to pay with cash with a fiver, a tenner or a score? Another reason to make your own.
  10. Looks like the area around the Southwark/Lambeth border on Herne Hill is being traffic coned off in a lot of places. This suddenly came about after the local election and the local Labour councillors/Southwark Council are responsible for this? The Herne Hill area was working fine a few years ago until the layout was changed. Another change would be detrimental to bus and car users with long traffic jams etc. The whole area would come to a standstill.
  11. Voted at the Dulwich Village voting place this afternoon in Half Moon Lane and was the only one there. I didn't vote Labour. A lone Labour supporter was outside and asked to see cards to save any knocks on doors later in the evening. I mentioned they were welcome to knock on my door as had undecided family members. In the event, some Labour councillors knocked on my neighbours door tonight around 7.30pm but walked past mine. Also found out today that so many people in the local neighbourhood have not bothered to vote. Really can't understand why.
  12. Just don't order from these places and cook indoors; problem solved!
  13. It's the time of year when grass suddenly starts growing wildly if not kept under control. Maybe their greenkeeper hasn't got round to it yet.
