i wouldn't dream of telling anyone how to support their team......i'm suggesting that he might not be beyond criticism blind faith is admirable in it's way

One bad season and some people > want him out, it's laughable. it's not laughable since the win he's gone backwards every season in the champions league 2005 won 2007 runner up 2008 semi final 2009 quarter final 2010 group stages you've got worse each season since 2005 in the champions league and overachieved in the league last season at the moment you'll be lucky if you qualify for the europa league this season how far does benitez have to drag you down before you realise he's not the right man for the job?

I wonder when they actually broke up? i love sometimes i wish....but still haven't devoted the necessary time to Have One on Me. I know i'll love it, and already do as a collection of songs, but haven't had the two hours quiet time to do it one go.

i don't i'm afraid- elephantasia is the only exposure i've had to him.....someone copied it for me when i was listening to nick drake a lot. To be honest i've not given it enough time. I shall endeavour to revisit it soon :)

I'm twittering. I > changed my mind. I'm allowed. you, me and so many people I know I always assumed it was just another outlet for the self obsessed; another facebook status type update tool. Now I can't leave it alone. I don't comment on what i'm up to as i don't want to bore people, but as a newsfeed and information provider it's essential. I follow certain favourite websites, record labels, bands, magazines, papers etc and always get a heads up on gigs, tickets, new tracks, album releases and other assorted news bits. The thinking is that Twitter will eventually become bigger and more useful than Google. As people re-tweet (pass on third party tweets to their followers) it will create an intuitive information providing service. Rather than using search engines to find out things you are interested in, that information will come to you of it's own accord (well, with the help of other twitterers). The potential is quite phenomenal.

I've just taken delivery of the joanna newsom triple vinyl so will devote some time to it this weekend. I've had it downloaded for a while, and listened in bits n pieces, but i don't think compressed files would do it justice. Still, I haven't heard a track yet that i don't think is anything less than lovely and in places spectacular. But like Y's- it'll take months of listening before giving it a proper critique. Have also been listening to a lot of Grizzly Bear, and both gigs this weekend were incredible. Liking the Gorillaz album a lot, wasn't keen on either of the first two but i reckon this one's a big step up. Also been listening to Band of Horses and the National a lot (can't wait for the new album after seeing new live tracks on youtube)

hopefully fulham won't be so stubborn when we get them back to the lane they do what they do well at craven cottage- no complaints, we tried but couldn't break them down

let's get a couple of important facts straight 1. wenger condoned exactly that sort of tackling when he had players that could tackle like that- viera, petit etc 2. arsenal aren't winning trophies because wenger seems to pathologically refuse buying the correct players to win things in england 3. arsenal being vulnerable to 'those types of teams' is a weird myth- they beat stoke home and away this season, as well as bolton home and away and thrashed allardyce's blackburn. They've lost to the footballing sides (united, chelsea, city) that are simply better at their own (arsenal's) game than them. ARSENAL ARE NOT VULNERABLE TO TOUGH TACKLING SIDES. Sorry for capitalising that, but if i see that quoted once more i'm gonna pull my hair out.

Stabbings are bad. Therefore Kensington and Chelsea is Bad. ...etc.

I've lived off rye lane for 18 months and walked along it every day, evening, and lots of nights and never seen even a hint of bother- not even an argument. Of course I hope the original poster is ok; but some of the knee jerk replies on here are very 'daily mail' and leave a bitter taste let's keep perspective eh?

jagielka's a centre half though isn't he? atila- gomes might have had a shaky start but there aren't too many better keepers in the prem now after watching fabianksi and almunia in recent months i think chelsea's reserve keeper 'hilario' would be apt for arsenal right now

i think it's worth posting all the lyrics to sawdust and diamonds, so i shall From the top of the flight Of the wide white stairs Through the rest of my life Do you wait for me there? There's a bell in my ears There's a wide white row Drop a bell down the stairs Hear it fall forever more Hear it fall forever more Drop a bell off of the dock Blot it out in the sea Drowning mute as a rock Sounding mutiny There's a light in the wings Hits this system of strings From the side while they swing; See the wires, the wires, the wires And the articulation In our elbows and knees [makes them jerk in the breeze] Makes us buckle and we couple in endless increase As the audience admires milkymoon And the little white dove Made with love, made with love Made with glue and a glove and some pliers Swings a low sickle arc From its perch in the dark Settle down Settle down Settle down my desire And the moment i slept I was swept up in a terrible tremor Though no longer bereft, how i shook And i couldn't remember And then the furthermost shake Drove a murdering stake in And cleft me right down through my center And i shouldn't say so But i know that it was then or never Push me back into a tree Bind my buttons with salt Fill my long ears with bees Braying 'please, please, please, Oh you ought not! No you ought not!' And then this system of strings Tugs on the tip of my wings Cut from cardboard and old magazines Makes me warble and rise like a sparrow And in the place where i stood Is a circle of wood A quarter to which you chop and you stack in your barrow And it is terribly good To carry water and chop wood Streaked with soot, heavy booted and wild-eyed As i crash through the rafters And the ropes and the pulleys trail after And the holiest, holiest belfry burns sky high And then a slow lip of fire Moves across the prairie with precision While somewhere with your pliers and glue You make your first incision And in a moment of almost unbearable vision Doubled over with the hunger of lions 'Hold me close', cooed the dove Who was stuffed now with sawdust and diamonds I wanted to say 'why the long face?' [slowly slip away with your long face] Sparrow perch and play songs of long face Burro buck and bray songs of long face Sings 'i will swallow your sadness and eat your cold clay Just to lift your long face And though it may be madness, i will take to the grave Your precious long face & though our bones they may break & our souls separate Why the long face? Milkymoon And though our bodies recoil from the grip of the soil Why the long face?' [it was not my mistake, It was not your miskate; There is a bell beneath the lake And verily the spell begins to break And verily the spell begins to break] In the trough of the waves Which are pawing like dogs Between pale-faced and grave As i write in my log And then i hear a noise from the hull Seven days out to sea And it is the damnable bell And it tolls, i believe, that it tolls It tolls for me! And it tolls for me! And though my wrists and my waist Seem so easy to break Still my dear i would have walked you to the edge of the water And they will recognise All the lines of your face In the face of the daughter, of the daughter, of my daughter And darling we will be fine But what was yours and mine Appears to be a sandcastle that the gibbering wave takes But if it's all just the same Then say my name, say my name, Say my name in the morning so that i know when the wave breaks I wasn't born of a whistle Or milked from a thistle at twilight No, i was all horns and thorns Sprung out fully formed, knock-kneed and upright So enough of this terror we deserve to know light And grow evermore lighter and lighter You would have seen me through But i could not undo that desire Oh-oh, oh-oh-oh desire Oh-oh, oh-oh-oh desire Oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh desire milkymoon From the top of the flight Of the wide white stairs Through the rest of my life Do you wait for me there?

i'm sure many would disagree, but i think she's as close to a musical genius (not a word i like) that the 21st century's given us thus far a prodigious talent the new album is stunning
