I wish everyone was like you.....it's infuriating that despite some parents' scream threshold being high, they don't consider that other people's might not be. I am not exaggerating when I say that there was a non-stop background scream for the hour i was in there on saturday.
  2. ......please someone ban them from sainsburys- or at least ban parents that just let them scream. It's like Halloween in here.
  3. the new Wilco album they can do no wrong, it's another belter
  4. Ummm, most bands have never reformed surely.
  5. I'll give em a visit today. Cheers
  6. Has anyone seen any in the Supermarkets yet? I've only been to Sainsbury's so far, and they only have shallots (i want to make a job lot, so shallots will be prohibitively expensive)- was wondering if anyone has seen any in tesco or asda....or anywhere else (farmers markets, borough market etc)? cheers
  7. If they're not on sale at the club yet, i'd be surprised if they are on sale anywhere else
  8. there's quite a big one on the southbank- but by the time you've filled up on tiny ?4 cups of gluhwein, you might as well pay for a flight. however; if you're looking to go out of town it'll probably work out just as cheap to catch an easyjet or ryanair flight to one of the decent german one's. I can recommend Trier- it's quite small but beautiful. Flying into Luxemburg City would do it. Luxemburg City is also bloomin lovely.
  9. as they say in Deutschland- Unglaublich! Perhaps you'd like a personal train that just you and your nearest and dearest could get on?
  10. I think the lack of basics is more fundamental it'd almost be worth us getting knocked out to not have to listen to Vickery anymore.
  11. wish there was some way i could let martin johnson know what i think of his tenure in charge so so predictable
  12. Sad when anyone dies, but apparently according to those close to him he was difficult and downright obnoxious. He was responsible for halting Apple's Philantropic arm in exchange for more profit and he wasn't reponsible for the design or engineering of the ipod, iphone or ipad. I still own an ipod and iphone mind.
  13. I don't see the problem- as someone above said- get the new overland to denmark hill and then change. Catch the connection right you'll still get from Peckham Rye to Victoria in 15 minutes. Or is too much hassle to change trains?
  14. bon3yard- well said hard to believe people see OFAH as a serious social commentary
  15. Each year i seem to have a self indulgent look at the spurs squad, invariably setting myself up for a fall when we end up doing sod all this season but our subs and injured list for this weekend would make a decent first xi Subs from Cudicini, Gomes, Pienaar, Huddlestone, Giovani, Bassong, Corluka, Falqu?, Livermore, Sandro, Townsend Injured Gallas (calf, 29 Sep), Kranjcar (hamstring, 29 Sep), Lennon (groin, 29 Sep), Pavlyuchenko (hamstring, 2 Oct), Dawson (achilles, 2 Oct) cudicini townsend bassong gallas corluka pienaar sandro huddlestone lennon giovani pavyluchenko And I think we're fielding our best first xi at the moment friedel assou-ekotto king kaboul walker bale modric parker van der vaart adebayor defoe
  16. i go peckham rye to bishopsgate/liverpool st every day i go down the surrey canal (behind the library), then onto the road when that ends, old kent road as far as tescos, down the left of tescos, left onto a road behind the royal mail sorting office, eventually coming to tower bridge road, over tower bridge, one way system as far as whitechapel road....then you could go left onto commerical st all the way to old st.

  20. now there's a valid debate right there- does wearing a helmet really give a cyclist any more safety on the road? i guess the only protection it offers is to a head that's going to hit the ground- how often does that happen in a cycling accident? ever? for the record, i do wear one for my commute, bit often not for a short local ride.

Yes, you can hear a siren aboveyour headphones- but without the headphones you can hear it sooner
  22. Plus, how can you hear an emergency services vehicle approaching?
  23. i cycle every day and wouldn't dream of wearing headphones. In a car you have mirrors to help with spatial awareness- on a bike you have to rely on a quick turn of the head or your ears to see/hear any vehicles (especially motorcycles) approaching from the rear. I wouldn't feel safe at all.
  24. The only experience I have of Skeggy Butlins was wandering around in the middle of the night on Acid when everything was closed (we weren't residents, and if memory serves we'd jumped a fence). Once we'd decided that the noise coming from the generator buildings was in fact generators and not a night club that we couldn't find the entrance for (took us about 45 minutes), we met some guys from nottingham- did a few bongs and ended up skinny dipping in the outdoor pool. I think
