  1. Forgot to say that the bourjois cream blusters are brilliant - easy to apply, lovely finish and no need to invest in a brush - just use your fingers
  2. Agree with Yak. Sali Hughes' column and website/forum are a great source of advice and info. My staples are NARS tinted moisturiser, blusher (I favour MAC, but Sleek found in Superdrug do very good blushes at a lower price), a chunky eyeshadow/liner stick (Kiko who have a shop by Oxford Circus do brilliant ones), and mascara. I also like Bare Minerals ready eyeshadow duos. For blue eyes browns and bronzes usually bring out the colour nicely. Maybe concealer if you need it for under the eyes/redness/spots - I am currently using a creamy one by Becca from Space NK which is excellent. Clarins instant light concealer is really good for under the eyes. Have fun experimenting!
  3. I think it depends on the individual child. At the age of 4 my daughter was v keen on dressing up -so any fairy/princess dressing up outfits. My son is coming up to 5, so a bit younger, but Lego always goes down very well. The Lego star wars, Ninjago and Marvel sets are all great.
  4. Brockwell park playground is the best! I never go to Dulwich Park, despite it being closer.
  5. Brockwell Lido cafe is nice - you can eat outside by the pool - will need to book though
  6. Christ she's got it easy! Try being a single parent with two kids one at nursery one at school and a job to get to once you've dropped them off. The idea of having a partner to get the kids ready while you have a shower etc sounds like bliss. Plus on top of that I'm most definitely NOT morning person!
  7. My son has been through 3 pairs of black chelsea boots which I got from Emmanuelle Marshall - they are made by Chipmunk He loves them and I think they look pretty cool - also bonus they are really easy to take on and off. If Emmanuelle Marshall don't stock them anymore there are loads on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=chipmunk%20boots&_fscr=1 I also really rate Ricosta (expensive, but if you work out the right size you can find them on ebay). For sandals I just go to the Clarks factory shop - got some fairly inoffensive grey and green ones which please my son because they flash.
  8. Unfortunately Blade Runner not showing in the evenings so pretty impossible if you work/have kids :( holloway Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Wholeheartedly agree with all posistive comments. > I can't believe they' re showing Blade Runner > aswell! A must see on the big screen.
  9. Lego and superheroes! Also anything to do with Star Wars, and sticker books.

Hello James, you said that you would ask for this to be fixed, but so far the phasing of the lights does not seem to have been changed. Can you please let us know what response you have had from Southwark? Many thanks.
  11. I have also used farmdrop and thought they were very good
  12. The manduca works front facing or on your back (more comfy!)
  13. Worth getting your iron levels checked - perhaps you could be a bit anaemic? Also get your Vitamin D levels checked.
  14. Single women can have kids you know! pato Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > i live in ed 3 yrs ..i haven t seen any form of > single woman here.. > All of them have engagement rings, kids, trolleys > etc.. > Somebody told me if there was a form of single > woman in ED that will be taken to the Horniman > museum..
  15. They go to Dulwich Infants or another primary for Reception, Y1 and Y2. yeknomyeknom Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Thanks. But what do you do with your child before > the age of 7?
  16. Can you not call in to the cinema in person to buy tickets in advance? That seems like the simplest option given that it's local.
  17. I think Method do an in shower cleaner that is Eco and safe. Also astonish.
  18. Oxfam in Herne Hill, Bloomers on Lordship Lane and Morleys in Brixton all have bra bins I think.
  19. My daughter is now in y3 at the hamlet after being at DVIS and she was very happy there. Her teachers were lovely. I wasn't so keen on the religious element but it is oour closest school. I'm sure if you decide against a place there will be many on the waiting list ready to snap it up!
  20. Thanks both. Which Merrell do you have Zo-Hop?
  21. I have completed the short survey - I'm sure you could also post in the family section - you will get a good response
  22. I'm after some lightweight hiking shoes - does anyone have recommendations for a brand/style that is particularly good? I'm thinking maybe Merrell but there may well be other obscure but good brands I don't know about. Your advice would be much appreciated!
  23. My kids got on very well with the Puky balance bike - it was this one http://www.kidsbikeshop.co.uk/Large/PUKY-LR-1L-Learner-Balance-Bike-Blue/flypage.tpl.html
  24. Both my children went straight from balance bike to pedal bike without stabilisers using islabikes - they basically started cycling by themselves straight away. Islabikes are great as they are so light and easy to handle. I don't think it would be possible with a heavier bike.
