  1. I believe also cats should never have their whiskers trimmed as they use them to keep themselves orientated. I'd recommend looking into it as you may need to keep the poor chap inside for a bit.
  2. Try Gloria on East Dulwich Grove. She's great!
  3. Does anyone know if the 'are you in favour...' question represents a referendum-style yes or no to the scheme that will be respected?
  4. One thing I haven't understood is whether, officially, the plans will be droped if the consultantion comes back with a majority against?
  5. Perhaps Southwark Council are responsible for the bad weather too? Whereas the Lib Dems take no responsibility for the shambles we see with Royal Mail.
  6. If they're keeping the Victorian facade then this is a good thing all round. Whilst the nimby original poster is worried about having new neighbours and lack of sunlight in his garden, people are homeless.
  7. Fantastic news!
  8. Isn't this actually a good thing? It's currently pretty tricky to reach blackfriars from ED. Now that 'hopper' fairs mean you don't need to pay to change bus you can take any bus to elephant and change.
  9. People also live on the roads you're suggesting they should use instead.
  10. Just use their bins? 3 flats in my building and no one owns a particular bin.
  11. TJ, can I ask how long you queued for and how many people were on duty? Seriously, fuck the tories and fuck the lib dems.
  12. This is an absolute disgrace. Really this is a symbol of how we are being sold out to private cash at every opportunity. Though its not much of a consolation, remember you can get your parcels redelivered (including to leave with a neighbour) here: https://m.royalmail.com/h5/redelivery
  13. Really? You blame Southwark for this? Yet it was your leader Vince Cable that privatised the Royal Mail? Pretty bloody sure I know who to blame.
  14. We need homes. I say build it 50x higher. Stop being such nimbys.
  15. Is my memory too short or did this never happen before privitisation? Genuine question.
  16. Back office savings? You mean job cuts and outsourcing? Liberals = Tories light. It's OK to cull half the workforce as long as the board is 50% women.
  17. I find the local shopkeepers here incredibly friendly and know many of them by name - I don't think you'd get that in the majority of the rest of London. Best solution is stop shopping in chains that exploit their workers in such cruel conditions.
  18. Thank you. I called them, it's now been over an hour and they haven't responded though.
  19. Hi, I would appreciate some advice. My normally very pleasant neighbours must have gone on holiday because their house has been overtaken by teenagers having a huge party for the second night in a row. I would appreciate some advice. The people are pretty intimidating so I'm not keen to go over and challenge them.
  20. Would appreciate a bit of advice: if we have a flat locally and are looking to buy a small house or larger flat (perhaps ?700k max budget, assuming our current flat stays approx ?350k), would you wait and see or try to buy?
  21. They look like they're being made of some seriously shoddy materials.
  22. Did you get the reg plate? It could the Croydon 'cat killer'(also targets other animals, including foxes)
  23. Isn't the entirety of ED 'hot'? Some bits are prettier than others but even the ugliest of home in terrible condition will still cost several times more than any normal person would be able to afford.
  24. It's rude to stop someone from sleeping when they want to, it's also rude to stop others having fun.
  25. My view of Lib Dem ideology is that they are basically Tories with a friendly face. They privatised the Royal Mail, reek of privilege and have no interest in economic equality, yet are somehow seen as centre left. Id call it a poll tax because its a public service, but I do see your point.
