  1. I voted the way I did because I believe it will reduce suffering. Anyway, I realise I'm taking this off topic and will stop. Best of luck and thank you to James.
  2. I voted Labour on three counts because I believe James / the Lib Dems focused on things that aren't important. I am hoping our fully red council will now work to reduce poverty and build enough housing. Good luck to all the new Labour councilors.
  3. James, could you please fight against the closure of the Royal Mail sorting office instead? After all it was Vince Cable that privatised it. Or is it Lib Dem policy to privitise and close essential services? Tories lite.
  4. Another reason never to vote Lib Dems. This is the inevitable consequence of privatisation.
  5. Thanks guys! Seems the trains will be more frequent but annoyingly a bit inconsistent. So all trains currently going to West Croydon will now go to East Croydon? That's useful for Brighton, Gatwick etc.
  6. It seems a new train timetable has been announced for ED, but I'm unable to work it out. Anyone got a clear source? The official website below is pants. https://www.railplan2020.com
  7. Ironic really Peckhamguy, I was defending you, but I am Antifa.
  8. Thanks for the responses all. I'm too lazy to respond to everyone individually, however I think pretty much every criticism of my point holds a lot of weight and I largely agree with you. Regarding equating extreme right with 'moderate' right, not my intention at all, apologies.
  9. Hi, I just want to make one further point here. I should start by saying I am the type of 'Marxist maggot' that the poster is threatening, and I'm very much anti-racist. However I take issue with the way in which Peckhamguy has seemingly been ganged up on and almost silenced by other posters. I am not for a minute taking his side in terms of his argument, however I'm taking his side as I think people have been rude to him. I've seen a couple of posts, for example, insulting his use of English, or just shouting him down in a way that isn't particularly constructive. I don't see how personal insults of right wingers do anything productive.
  10. OK, seriously, how much are you guys all being paid to promote this place?
  11. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/nov/23/thameslink-rail-completion-delayed-london-december-2019 Just found the above link. If I'm not mistaken the southeastern services will be upped in 2019. I assume this could include trains from Denmark Hill? I'm finding it all rather confusing to be honest...
  12. So if you want a bus shelter on your local stop you just need to ask a councillor? Shouldn't they be allocated according to passenger numbers?

Thank God!

Shame Teresa May isn't listening.
  15. Sounds like a good idea to me. Surely we need high density housing to fix the housing crisis.

I vaguely remember that when the Thameslink programme finishes is the same as when the work at London Bridge finishes, hence why we'll revert to our original timetable then. I can't remember exactly where I heard that and can't find anything online though...

  18. Free parking in ED is excellent. We live near the Lordship pub and I've never had to walk more than 30 seconds to where I've parked in the 3 years we've had a car. I used to cycle to Brixton every day for my commute. When it rained I got soaked though. In that context, I don't see why I wasn't allowed to drive to/ park in Brixton for free.

This is a very good point. I would urge those that complain to berate the lack of staff, not the staff themselves - it's clearly not the fault of the individuals working there.
  20. I waited one hour last week, when I finally got to the front of the queue I was told they couldn't find my parcel. They guy took my number and said he'd call me once he finds it, but he still hasn't called. I've never waited more than 15 mins there before. Clearly a result of privatisation. I have sent a complaint to Royal mail online, suggest others do so too if you can.
  21. One of the cars is still there. Assuming the owner is away or something, I really feel for them.
  22. I know it's not very nice, but maybe just put it in the bin. Poor thing is already dead and I for one certainly wouldn't judge. Best of luck...
