  1. Talking of which they say that "A Nods as good as a Wink"...but is it? Which Guy on here can truly tell me that this is the case(?)
  2. Peckhamgatecrasher Wrote: Proverbs 10: 10 - "He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow" Don't get me wrong I'm not one to diss the Proverbs but I have winketh more times than I care to remember and its never caused me any sorrow,I have to say.(Wink)
  3. Jah:Nah! Its just that there are Emoticons for various other types of expression but none for the good old-fashioned and time-honoured Cockney habit of Winking. Which in a Sarf London based Forum I find rather strange.
  4. Is it me or do none of these Emoticons cover Winking? Being a cheeky chappie, sometimes I like to wink but seem unable to here. Can anyone suggest any help in this direction please Guys... p.s Its just that I feel that a wink on here breaks the ice sometimes as a greeting. The internet equivalent of a handshake,if you like.
  5. Not being cynical but somehow I guessed that was your first post on here...:)
  6. Sorry to digress but what was this thread originally about please(?)
  7. Well I can honestly say that I have never lifted a finger to anyone. Had 2 fights, both within 2/3 weeks of each other in 1964,a mere 44 years ago, in the same place, i.e.St.Peters Park,Liverpool Grove,Walworth(sigh! the great memories of my roots)...they both lasted one punch(Tony Pickering and Billy Furze(R.I.P) if you must know) and they both ended up with me rolling around and clutching my stomach on the floor.:)) Thus endeth a promising(NOT!) fighting career...(tu)
  8. Reminds me of what happened last year.:)) British Gas turn up to inspect my Boiler. The Guy is assessing the situationwith the usual (British Workman) sharp intake of breath...:-$..."No,No,Don't know" etc...who turns up but the local Manager who I caught "teefing" in a previous life from his previous Employers.Strangely, this episode did not, clearly, find its way onto his CV.:) He was rather shocked to see me as he had left "under a cloud" that I was only too well aware of. Miraculously the work COULD now be done and amazingly I never did get charged for it either. Funny Old World Sometimes.>:D<

I reckon most blokes would be too scared to admit they were pummelled by a woman and therefore suffer in silence. I made the mistake of criticising her once. She made I did not repeat my error! She screamed at me(without pause) for around 40 FOUR-RUDDY-0 Minutes!..Arms flailing everywhere.Luckily she was very slim and non-muscular as I might well have copped a right-hander.The screaming session put me in my place!::o

  11. Brendan Wrote: An ex-girlfriend once punched me in the face. A very good right-hook to the jaw that actually dazed me for a few seconds and left a bruise I might add. We were sitting opposite each other, at a table of about 10 friends, in a busy restaurant at the time. I secretly enjoyed it. Surely thats happened to everyone! Had one on/off g/f(sort of) for 11 years who frequently attacked me within the first 45 seconds of me picking her up in my car.I think its called "sexual tension".I wound her up with my opening gambit(quite often and quite deliberately) and she wacked me in the side of the face.Seems more than fair.B)
  12. Does this count as abuse? I asked my lodger(who had got hold of the remote) to please turn the sound down for a moment as I was going to use the phone "for a few seconds".I smiled as I said it and no-one could question the manner or attitude that I said those words. Those are EXACTLY the words I used,as well. With that she threw my Sky Remote at my face and caught me(I'm not lying) a half inch below my eye.I dread to think the damage that could have done to me. 2 days later we visited her big Sister who was returning to the rest of their Family in Kingston,Jamaica. My "friend" was the personification of the sweetest Girl that you could wish to meet! Even her voice was much softer. Just a quick question..if I had thrown the remote at her face, missing her eye by a half-inch would anything have come of it,I wonder?

After "rod" then "701" there was "071" then "0171" then "020" split between "0207/0208" now its "020 7701". Progress initt, innit?

I often > hear 'girl' or 'woman' used as a word meaning shit > - "don't be such a big girl", "he's being an old > woman". Funnily enough on Match Of The Day last Saturday Mark Lawrenson said "tackled like a big jessie" and I'll be perfectly honest I got really irritated when Ray Stubbs did his "pc" bit and brought him to task on it.It did not ring true as Ray must have heard much worse 1,000 times b4 and not said anything. He then mentioned it again at the end of the programme by saying "Goodbye from our 2 Jessies!"..Alab Shearer laughed but, significantly,Lawrenson did not! If we are being honest B++ch" is mentioned ad nauseum,ad infinitum by (young, usually) Women in addition to Men plus the "Big Girls Blouse" other type comments... I know in my all-male work environment if 2 Guys continually bicker then the cry will go up "GIRLS!"...or if someone does go on and on and on they get "'ark at her"....not saying its right but its life,innit....

"Cheeky Banter"..mmmm...in 1978 when the "Boyz"(Not Guilty) locked Jill Plank in a cupboard for a whole lunch hour until they returned from "The Witness Box"..does that count in those Pre-PC Times or even now...::o
