  1. Does anti-social behaviour count? Returned to my beloved Inner Sarf London yesterday. Merrily eating a Chicken Burger and Chips, a couple of other "patrons" and in walked 2 x 17-year-olds. Obviously these 2 luvverly Ladeez had "previous" as they knew there was a 10 Foot Mirror there and out came all the make-up accessories, mousse, relaxer ( I think) all the whole kaboodle. Then the "highlight" out came the hair spray and Body spray! After a few well-aimed swishes they packed their items together and flounced off into the sunset, without a backward glance. Superb.:'( p.s. I forgot, the little Darlings combed their long-ish hair, as well, for that final extra touch, Class.
  2. Keef Wrote: Make that three times. Very very poor form, and the sort of nasty behaviour that me lose any sympathy for your arguement, whatever that was. Agree 100% Keefy.. btw there is no "e" in argument....B)
  3. Good to hear a heart-warming story aggie. Hope your Mum makes a full recovery and a pleasure to hear that some people still care.
  4. Hello, Cock..
  5. Thanks Horsebox. I will only be watching, not participating but it sounds like fun so I'll do my best. Hope the venture goes well and have a good tournament.
  6. I only ask one thing david. In our newly formed "alliance" will you stand in front of me and not behind me. ( Nothing personal)...:)
  7. Horsebox Wrote: Am awaiting confirmation from el-presidente but these things are usually registration at 10.30 with a view to starting games at 11.00. Can we expect you to make an appearance, tony? Its possible as its something entirely new and different for me to watch Horsebox. I'll just wait until the morning, see what the weather is like etc, and might combine it with a trip around South London.
  8. What time does the action, realistically, start Horsebox?
  9. Keef Wrote: Serena was funny yesterday, saying everyone is Russian. What did she say Keef?
  10. "bob" any reply must include either or both of the following: A Christmas Carol and Dombey and Son ...you try and include them as I couldn't.. Chow Chow for now....
  11. david_carnell Wrote: ... That d----d Army Brigadier! Bloody cad. ...and we both support the underdog, in society and, definitely, in Football as both our teams aren't even in The Championship... Nah! I reckon, on the balance of probabilities, you are, indeed, mi bruvver, so in future I will no longer be your "nemesis" but your bestest M8 on here and "have your back" on here bruv..:)-D
  12. So who do you think will do well in the 2 Singles events Jeremy?
  13. *Bob* Wrote: You might as well just come out with it, Tony. You'd like to start-up in "the dogwalking game". And charge ?10 / hour. How the Dickens did you deduce that? Did one of our mutual friends tell you? I'm suffering hard times and don't weant mine to become a bleak house so I've great expectations that if I advertise in a few old curiosity shops and the pickwick papers that me and my trusted assistances martin chuzzlewit, nick nickleby, edwin drood, barnaby rudge, olly twist and dave copperfield might get a nice little earner out of this... "bob" you haven't a little dorrit that I could walk and tell a tale of two cities too have you? Alas and alac my rates are not Dickensian though...

  15. david_carnell Wrote: As a Taurean I stubbornly refuse to believe a word As a fellow Taurean I, obviously, don't share your stubborn nature, obviously.... Knowing you are a fellow Taurean has also made me change my view, which I DID hold for 5 Decades, in that Astrology can't be nonsense as we are such kindred spirits in almost everything we do or say its downright spooky... Both over 6 feet with Blonde Hair and Blue Eyes, as well... You're not the Bruvver I never knew who was Born with the forenames Cuthbert Tarquin Sebastian somewhere near Sheen are you davey ? ( "davey" as we might be more closely related than you realise M8)....

  17. *Bob* Wrote: ....It's exactly the kind of thing enterprising 14 year-olds should be doing, not grown men and women - who ought to be out driving lorries / mining coal etc Some of us have paid our dues since '71 ..now its time to put our feet up, metaphorically but not literally. Life in "The Open Air" beckons, I hope...

  19. ???? Wrote: More importantly, pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get back on the saddle....who you fancy for Wimbledon? Lets put it like this my M8 was (still is??) the 5th highest earner in the World on Betfair and he has chosen to go to The USA now and miss betting on THe Mens which I can interpret as he doesn't see much beyond The Fed. Express now Rafa is out.
  20. Asset Wrote: Actually, a lot of the reason the Scots won't support England at the footy is that they despise the way the fans behave. You don't see the sort of horrendous pissed-up violence at a Scots away game that can happen with the English fans. They stay at home for that. Off Topic but while very true, this only partially tells the tale. When I walked through Princess Street with my Black Girlfriend a few years ago she heard a Girl say to me "English Bestard" which I'm glad she didn't tell me at the time ( I'm lying as she was a 6ft+ giant so I'm glad I did NOT hear it)... Back in the early 1970's onwards it was The Scots who caused mayhem around Wembley and when 70,000 used to take over Central London ( remember the famous pitch invasion when they broke the nets and swung on the crossbar?) and no sane Englishman would travel to Hampden Park for the return International every other year!)...so its not just that. Bonnie Prince Charlie, Bannockburn and all...I love the passion of The Scots and the atmosphere they create and along with The Irish, The Tartan Army are welcomed the World over unlike the English Fans who are often reviled, understandably.
  21. I still reckon all or some of these factors contribute: It can often make you sleepy, I think the salt in the air makes your body work harder so you feel tired, but all the running and walking at the seaside around you do on the beach will add to it .. Its the exposure to the sun, not necessarily the air that can make everyone feel tired. The sea air makes you tired because there is less polution in the air and more oxygen. Yes, you are probably getting more exercise. But consider the other factor, less stress. You can finally take a deep breath and relax. The ocean puts you into a state of meditation. Add that to the sun shining on you then you lay down and fall asleep, with nothing on your mind except the sea, wind and sand.
