There's a proposed blind randomised controlled trial of D-Mannose for prevention of RUTI, https://www.spcr.nihr.ac.uk/projects/d-mannose-to-prevent-recurrent-uti-a-double-blind-randomised-placebo-controlled-trial.

There are also frame numbers of course. But I suspect the main problem is that, as has been mentioned, a perp's assertion that they were just acting for a friend would probably on its own be enough to avoid any conviction for handling stolen goods. In choice cases though, I'd still like to see the police make an arrest where there was reasonable suspicion, and see where the subsequent investigation, searches and interview led. Bear in mind too that a conviction in the previous five years for handling can itself be admissible evidence in determining an accused's guilty knowledge. https://www.cps.gov.uk/legal-guidance/theft-act-offences#a25 On another tack, has anyone asked the police simply to be in attendance, to maintain the Queen's peace while you reclaimed your clearly stolen property? It would look rather bad if they consistently refused and you then got marmalised.

> And how do you explain the charger cable? There are no obvious charge points in the area, unless possibly available inside the leftmost entrance to the school. The lead, whatever it is, seems to coming from the direction of what, if you magnify the first picture, looks as if it it could be the open back door of a recovery or workshop vehicle in the top LH corner. @Dyson Repairs, is there any possibility of your changing your hot link, to the photo uploaded on your website, to a plain URL? If anyone's interested, the full Daily Mail account of the Edinburgh January 2015 incident is at https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2931134/I-know-said-street-parking-ridiculous-Car-ends-nose-crashing-basement-level-building.html.

Sue, I'm not quite sure of the strength of the nexus between Babylon Health's 'AI' diagnosis R&D and the day-to-day GP at Hand practice, but the link is worth being aware of. They were featured in Horizon last month: "Diagnosis on Demand? The Computer Will See You Now" https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0bqjq0q. It's viewable there for only one more day, but I do have a copy on disk. I don't remember atm how much it shows of actual patient consultations.

I've spent an engaging twenty minutes checking all the visible banknote security features listed in the B of E's booklet (3MB PDF) https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/-/media/boe/files/banknotes/take-a-closer-look.pdf. It covers the current notes. If you still have access to the fakes it would be interesting, and possibly useful, to know which of the security features actually show them up as fakes, once you know what to look for, and which don't.

I would like to see the actual FOI question and full response. The first person mentioned in the article you linked to had 245 previous convictions, btw. https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-ireland/serial-thief-jailed-for-stealing-steak-and-candles-from-belfast-supermarket-34378018.html. I doubt magistrates are generally keen on imprisoning people for minor offences. They also have the sentencing guidelines to adhere to.

Was there not a thread to the same effect in the Businesses section last week? Am I being gasliighted?

According to my notes a planning team had been working on the transfer for a year and a half when he moved into his current ?regional oprations manager post in June. He took the decision on the timing of the transfer, bearing in mind that the service quality ratings for Silvester Road typically fell to 75-80% in November/December. He also said that there would be a lag of 5-6 weeks in bringing the staff levels up to standard, as there were personal security checks of new staff that had to be made. I don't recollect noticing any actual institutional or personal grandiosity in his presentation. -

There are 38 or so Mail Centres in the UK where all collected mail is taken -- I assume on the same day -- for industrial scale sorting. Our nearest ones are Croydon and Mount Pleasant. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Mail#Mail_centres But that leaves the question: who does the low level collection from pillar boxes, etc, and do they make any use of the Peckham Delivery Office? I suspect a friendly postie might be a good source of information. I wouldn't discourage asking RM Enquiries, if only for the opportunity it offereed of expressing concern about Peckham DO. I dare say RM does have figures on numbers of reported losses logged at various centres but would want to keep them confidential. The casess of theft and of mailbags left in a cupboard, that were reported at the recent DCC meeting, were, btw, about the SE21 Delivery Office. -

There really should be an I-Spy book. If the purple Qatar one was LL17CVM, it was in Copleston Road yesterday. Some adverts seem definitely to be from old campaigns -- I've seen ones for an Eminem 2017 release and the London Wine Fair[*]. I think the evidence so far suggests that it's old cabs being moved around rather than any refreshing of advertisng material. I doubt anyway whether an unlicensed TX4 would be able to get away with commanding the premium rates that active taxis do. It's possible they're no longer on contract at all. Any evidence to the contrary? [*] Edited to add that the LWF takes place in May each year.
